It’s been a while since I’ve seen a similarly striking portrait/cover… Where everything is played on the eyes and the smize, to quote a very famous former model now entertainer/entrepreneur, Tyra Banks. Really a surprising, effectively beautiful pose, in all its simplicity.
Photographed by Luigi Murenu & Daniele + Iago, Kati Nescher is clearly a wonderful model without even trying too hard. And the pink/burgundy color scheme only compliments her beautiful eyes. Her face actually reminds me of Daria Werbowy’s – doesn’t she look strikingly similar to you as well?

For the first time in Vogue Netherland’s editorial existence, a non-Dutch model is gracing the cover and associated main pictorial. Whether that’s a nod to the change in Dutch’s reigning regime – they will now have a King and not a Queen, as our dear friend, Appollonia knows better, I will only say that the new Royal Fashion representative will be Maxima, from now on. And she’s on the cover of Vogue Netherland’s May 2013 issue, with her name only.
But who’s the cover girl? Erin Wasson. Although she’s of German and Irish descent, Erin is no Dutch model. And she is on the cover of Vogue Netherlands. So she boldly goes where no other non-Dutch model has ever gone before (at least the photographers, Petrovsky and Ramone are Dutch)!

Carine Roitfeld, as we all know, is a freelance stylist, touching any and every pictorial that is proposed to her. The latest is a specialist eye on the Pre Fall Collections in Harper’s Bazaar UK May 2013.
The pictorial is – to say the least – interesting. Irina Shayk, Kate Upton, Tilda Lindstam, Soo Joo Park, Senait Gidey photographed by Sebastian Faena in a natural setting mimicking old-fashioned beasts doctors in white court shoes and perfectly pouty faces and impeccable red manicures. Carine is feeding the male audience anything and everything it needs. And fashion on top of that!

In many other circumstances, this ‘White Mischief’ pictorial would’ve raised some questions. At least in my head it would’ve. But I could never suspect Vogue Italia of aligning itself to the ‘white catwalk’ trend since Franca Sozzani has proven herself so many times over as a fashion color-revolutionary. I trust her and I trust her vision.
Edie Campbell is a lovely sight on the cover of Vogue Italia’s April 2013 ‘Fearless’ issue. Actually – this is the best sight I’ve seen of Edie since this entire hype aura has been given to her! Steven Meisel worked his charms around her pretty face with a little help from fashion editor Karl Templer.

With her new world tour kicking off in April, Beyonce is unstoppable and her reign over the world knows no boundaries. Here she goes, in a snapshot of what will be Vogue UK May 2013 issue cover.
She’s not looking like the reigning Queen like she was for her Vogue US feature, she’s a fresh act, with a cropped top in lovely shades of blue. I wonder – because I highly doubt this cover wasn’t intentionally preceding her international world tour – did Beyonce got to pick her cover colors herself? All blue, Blue Ivy… You got to admit, it’s really a strong coincidence (I’m curious to see the actual pictorial, this cover snapshot isn’t all too revealing).
But I do love Bey and I’m partial to liking this cover as well, regardless of it not featuring a model (their last two model covers weren’t among my favorites). And yeah, I’m OK with Mrs Carter running the world! (what? would you rather have had Gaga doing it?)

It’s not everyday that we get to see a true homage for a true geek in a true fashion magazine! Also, it’s not everyday that we get to see Birkenstock tongs or Hawaianas flip-flops in an haute fashion spread!
Erin Wasson’s pictorial in Vogue Paris April 2013 is my favorite (ever) pictorial with Erin and also one of the most beautiful stories from this Peru tribute issue. Les Lignes de Nazca – The lines from Nazca represent just what the titles is suggesting – a way of blending fashion and Nazca history in a most harmonious, linear, tasteful manner!
With a little help from Mario Testino’s artistic lenses and Anastasia Barbieri’s styling talents.

I talked about Joan Smalls just hours ago, I will add Anja Rubik to the mix just because: she’s a professional model, she’s one of the most sought-after models for seasons already, she’s involved in an out-of-catwalk project (her 25 Magazine) and… of course, because I like her.
And I’m not the only one: Anja has secured (at least) two covers this month: Vogue Turkey and Times T Style Magazine. I can’t decide which I like best as they’re pretty different and their individual charm is to be considered separately. But I do enjoy that she’s getting the fashion attention she deserves. And, unlike other model I appreciate, Anja doesn’t get mock-up covers and the styling of her shoots is respectful and honest towards her potential.

I was actually thinking about H&M this morning and more specifically about their iconic designer collaborations – it’s been a while since their last, and although it was reportedly a flop, I don’t believe they’ll put a stop to their high fashion collections. Until the next one drops, however, here’s some style crumbs to feast on: Beyonce H&M Summer 2013 Ad Campaign.
Not many images have been made available, however, it’s a step in the right direction on which speculations have been circulating ever since Bey was caught on camera posing in the Bahamas, mid-January. It’s a go, people: H&M took Beyonce in the Bahamas for a nice round of commercial advertising photography.
