Well, hello there! look who’s back in fashion: Daria Werbowy! And she’s not shy about it either, claiming her reigning crown with not one but two Vogue covers and an ad campaign styled by Carine Roitfeld for Diane von Furstenberg, shot by Sebastian Faena.
I already said something about Daria’s Vogue Paris August 2013 issue cover, it’s time to talk about her inside pictorial as well. Except I’ll be brief about it as it’s not on my alley. Photographed by David Sims and styled by Emmanuelle Alt, Daria looks uncomfortable and uneasy, like a wet cat in a screen test for headbands. I’m not hyped about fall temperatures and the inevitable moisture and frizz, cold humid wind and muddy gardens, but for a pre-fall issue of a magazine as prestigious as Vogue Paris, this is a rather disappointing visual experience.

It’s been a while since we last talked about Anja Rubik, hasn’t it? Well, I talked about Gemma Ward, about Diane Kruger, so let’s see what another one of my favorite models has been up to lately.
As Emmanuelle Alt got us used to, her Vogue Paris issues pages usually belong to the same familiar faces. For August, Daria Werbowy takes the cover but Anja Rubik has the most interesting pictorial in my perspective. Practical and spectacular fashion rolled into the same photo session – what’s not to like?
also: this may very well be considered Vogue Paris’s way of paying a modest tribute to the notable baby event rocking the British Royal House this moment as almost every pictorial (including the cover) alludes to UK’s Royal Baby joy (don’t stop here, hit the jump to see the outfits!)

Kate Upton continues her ascension on the fashion’s ladder one Vogue cover at the time. After Anna Wintour named her the world’s hottest supermodel, Vogue Brazil put some nice clothes on the 21-year-old American model and announced the end of the skinny dictatorship.
Whether that will prove to be real, only time will tell. Crystal Renn tried to pull a similar stunt on the fashion industry a couple of years ago and instead of changing the standard fashion body, she changed her own body by dieting/exercising and losing weight again. Will Kate Upton succumb to the same pressure and diminish her voluptuous frame?

Remember when I said something about a book being published with quotes from Karl? Of course you do! It’s just as memorable as Karl’s quotes. Especially when, in the space of two days you have that title announcing a book and another title, describing the love and devotion that Karl Lagerfeld has developed for his cat, at such point that he’d like to marry his furry little feline.
Now that we finally started to pretend we didn’t read the latter, bam! der Kaiser is not allowing us to put Choupette behind us. Linda Evangelista covers the July 2013 issue of Vogue Germany with Lagerfeld’s cat in her arms. Photographed by Lagerfeld.
Should I even bother counting the reasons for which this cover is nothing short of ridiculous? Nah, don’t think so. A single look is enough to either love it or leave it!

You were asking for more diverse covers? Well, you can get more beautiful than this Vogue Nederland July 2013 in my opinion! The colors on the cover are heart-melting and the entire layout is just oh-so-fashion!
Kinee Diouf as photographed by Ishi had my heart at the very first sight and I’m impatiently waiting for inside scoops (a modest preview awaits after the jump), to see if Vogue Netherlands wins the international Vogue summer editions. Not that Helena Bonham Carter’s Vogue UK was a summer cover per se, but I’m biased by my deep appreciation for HBC in favoring the British Vogue’s edition momentarily.
Paging our dear friend, Appollonia to see how this cover was perceived locally and all our other dear friends for feedback. What say you, my dahlings?

When it comes to delivering body issues, Karlie Kloss just seem to do it better. Than Gisele, in this case. Something about Karlie makes me look at her and think she’s always ready to jump, snap or do a crazy twist. Something. Everything about Karlie is willowy and elastic to my eyes.
Both ladies are beautiful in their own right and I can only look up to them and wish I’d be just a tiny percent fit like they are! But then again, like I always remind myself: it’s their job to look this way (and ours to observe and react). Miguel Reveriego captured Karlie’s quirky spirit and youthful allure in a series of beach photographs hinting back at the 80s glamour and sophistication.

I’m fully conscious that it’s her job to look this way, but seriously? Two months after giving birth, Gisele Bundchen is on the cover of Vogue Brazil June 2013 as photographed by Mario Testino? For a full Body Issue?
On one side I’m happy for her and many mothers out there who have a real model to look up to, someone who doesn’t let the pregnancy get into the way of their body being flawless. But on the other side, I do believe she’s setting some impossibly high to reach standards of physical shape and weight related issues. Mario Testino allegedly photographed her just two months after giving birth and she looked like that. Come on?! Seriously?

Remember when I said something about Kate Moss being involved in some advertorial contract with L’Oreal Kerastase? Well it hasn’t been that long and we already see the result of that advertising as it has been published by Vogue Paris in their last issue’s pages!
Hair talk is one of my favorite topics and I wouldn’t miss combining that with a dose of Kate Moss! So here she is, reigning queen over all fashion land! The couture hair she has on must’ve been seriously enhanced with extensions here and there as La Moss is famous for her straight, un-puffed hairdo. But she does make quite the hair impression in that picture, even beyond the mandatory Photoshop usage!
