Kate Moss Vogue Paris April 2013 Testino Pictorial: Cover Material
March 21st, 2013 by kpriss
Remember we discussed Vogue Paris April 2013 and more specifically the wasted potential of what could’ve been a glorious cover&cover story: Isabeli Fontana photographed by Mario Testino in an issue about Peru and its wonders.
At the time, we also found out that Kate Moss was in the said issue, also photographed by Mario Testino, also highlighting the Peruvian treasures. I was so curious to see the inside goodies so when I finally got around to peak at the pictorials previews, I was stunned: Kate Moss is definitely cover-material. The only reason I can accept her not being on the cover of this issue is that the highly esteemed fashion people want to see ‘change’ at all costs, even if it means unconvincing covers like Isabeli’s here.
Clutch Is The New It Bag!
March 20th, 2013 by kpriss
My dahlings, remember I said something about Charlotte Olympia and her exquisite talent in the making of little fashion wonders such as bags and shoes? Well, here’s another example, just in case her Spring Summer 2013 collection we discussed was too poetic for you!
A black and white clutch a la Hollywood (wink). It would be an amazing fit for a special occasion, but also a magnificent accessory to steal the spotlight from whatever wonderful shoes or outfit you have going. It just has that je ne sais quoi that makes me love it. It may be because I so passionately love movies, it may be because I so love classy black&white outfits (whoever is clutching onto this wonder, looks dressed up in a pants suit)… Either way, I would love to parade around carrying that Charlotte Olympia clutch – wouldn’t you?
Gwyneth Paltrow It’s All Good About Her-Self!
March 20th, 2013 by kpriss
Putting all your life’s secrets down on paper and then publish them is clearly one of the existential directives of young actresses today. Whether Gwyneth Paltrow was the real trend setter or was it just a natural tendency for all those women who already found their balance and their place, there’s no real way of telling.
I realize I just brought Gwinnie up a day ago and now here I am at it again, but today it’s because of her Self cover and cover story: all smiling, looking fresh and lovely in Just Cavalli dress, Gwyneth Paltrow covers Self magazine’s latest issue: April 2013.
Fashion For Your Home: Missoni Colorful Candles
March 20th, 2013 by kpriss
I’ve often expressed my appreciation for Missoni’s colorful zigzag prints. I actually doubt I can ever have enough of the striped print variety, especially since almost any item that conforms with the above description looks so joyful to my eyes. And joyful fashion, my dahlings, is what I strive&dream for each day.
These candles from Missoni Home were made in collaboration with a Los Angeles perfumer – Ron Robinson – responsible for the Apothia brand. Five fragranced candles from Missoni Home, all lovely printed and priced at $78 each are ready to enchant your sense during their evaluated 70 hours burn time.
i-D Lara Stone, Karlie Kloss, Joan Smalls & More, Spring 2013
March 19th, 2013 by kpriss
i-D magazine still believes in the multi covers magic and keeps on practicing their art to perfection with each new issue. This time, we get to see another side of Joan Smalls, much different (in better) from the ultra-polished Vogue Russia we talked about earlier but also the same provocative side of Lara Stone sans her mid-section, currently occupied with growing a baby.
Karlie Kloss and her still-fresh hairchop, Amra Cerkezovic, the new punk must have model in town (that I really favor instead of the likes of Cara and Edie) and Reuben Ramacher in what looks like a dress. There’s no telling if more covers follow these first five of i-D’s ‘Ask Me!’ Spring 2013 issue, but what’s certain is that the multi-choice might just be what’s working in i-D’s favor as not all covers are created equal and certainly not all fashion people are equally appreciative of everything/anything they find on the newsstand.
Revolutionary Beauty Advertising: Red Lipstick For Men
March 19th, 2013 by kpriss
G-Dragon, my dahlings, is a 24yo Korean model, singer&more. From 2009 until now, he kept on providing music to his evermore growing cohort of fans. But if you’d had to compare him to a familiar figure, then Justin Timberlake could be the one. G-Dragon is considered a fashion icon. A style maker. A trend setter.
Here he goes, breaching through yet another fashion sensitive domain: cosmetics. Lipstick, actually. Remember when we talked about red lipstick for men? Well, you can consider this as taking our old topic to the next level. G-Dragon is, after all, a man. And this is, after all, fire-red lipstick! And he’s wearing it, and subjecting it to our fashionable attention in this ad campaign from The Saem Cosmetics brand!(oh, and do hit the jump to see the commercial! It’s just so… beyond words!)

Sofia Vergara, Unrecognizable In Vogue’s Shape Issue
March 19th, 2013 by kpriss
Sofia Vergara is one of my favorite actresses right now. She’s so funny, energetic and positive, I really like her vibe. I think she’s a valuable example and a plausible role model for both young and adult women all around the world.
Being featured in Vogue’s April 2013 issue, also dubbed ‘The Shape Issue’ comes as no real surprise – I just wonder what took them that long. What is surprising, though, is that Sofia doesn’t look much like herself in the Mikael Jansson shot. Intentional or not, her picture depicts an existential cliché for generations of Latin women who, beautiful or not, fit or not, would spend many hours of their life in this or that kitchen, dreaming, aspiring but mostly frowning. Like Sofia here.

Suki Waterhouse Models The Coast And V&A Museum Ballgowns, Dates Bradley Cooper
March 19th, 2013 by kpriss
Every now and then, a wonderful exhibition related with the fashion world happens at one of the world’s most notable museums. Last year, the British Victoria & Albert Museum hosted a very impressive, tasteful display of fashion gowns ‘Ballgowns – British Glamour Since 1950’. For the lucky ones who were able to visit the amazing collection, this particular piece of news might bring back great memories.
A special limited edition collection in homage to the said exhibition (and in collaboration with the V&A museum) was modeled by Suki Waterhouse and made available through Coast.
