Good Cover Gone Dull: Joan Smalls Vogue Russia April 2013
March 19th, 2013 by kpriss
With every new cover graced by the amazing Joan Smalls I keep wondering what’s going on with the fashion people and how they allow themselves to be so dull and just ‘meh’ when they have such incredible potential on their hands!
Knotted in some cliché threads, blinded by safe choices, Joan Smalls’ covers end up being a huge disappointment to me, regardless of how enthusiast I am about her being on a new magazine cover. Take this Vogue Russia as photographed by Richard Bush – what’s so appealing about this picture that would make you pick up the magazine from the newsstand and take it home with you?
Sean Penn And Armani Gio: Buying Perfume Is Contributing To Water Charity
March 18th, 2013 by kpriss
At least that’s what Sean Penn and Giorgio Armani want you to believe. It’s a funny principle that would enable one Acqua di Gio or Acqua di Gioia perfume buyer to contribute to a special charity fighting for the improvement of the water quality in Haiti.
Sean Penn is very involved in the Port-au-Prince reconstruction (left devastated by the 2010 earthquake) and so he concocted this special salvation plan with Giorgio Armani called ‘Acqua for Life’. Basically, it’s like this: buy a special edition bottle of Acqua di Gioia or (from the potentially poisonous) Acqua di Gio and that translates into 100ml of water donated for the Relief Organization.

Jessica Alba’s Honest Life: You’re An Actress, Then Write A Book You Must!
March 18th, 2013 by kpriss
Remember when Gwyneth Paltrow started her Goop adventure? Everyone thought she wasn’t in her right minds at the time. But years have gone by, Gwinnie stuck with her Goop regime and a couple of books later, she’s like the new Martha Stewart. Books with recipes, ideas for entertainment, good living and good eating advice. But guess what? less movies. More living, less acting, yes?
Good. Now, I was browsing the news section today and came across an interesting title regarding a book and… Jessica Alba. Who’s not always on my fashion radar. Or any kind of radar. But this time, something in my mind went ‘click!’ and realized that this is the new vocation for young actresses out there: not a movie that would set their acting energy in motion but a book! A lifestyle book.
Rebel Ink Magazine Classy Cover

The way I see it, Rick Genest was a visionary. He had a dream. An obsession, and he so went through with it that he became iconic. In his obsession.
Rick Genest (also known as Zombie Boy) and his obsession were embraced by Nicola Formichetti and Lady Gaga, pushed forward on the catwalk, in music videos, in fashion magazines. But that was last season. Now Rick Genest is stuck in the same skin that made him oh-so-famous, looking like the Zombie Boy that he is, amongst his peers. Equally obsessed.
Karl Lagerfeld, Cara Delevingne, Melissa Shoes. Fun To Wear, Fun To Watch!
March 18th, 2013 by kpriss
One thing leads to the next. A hectic succession of more or less logical issues: Charlotte Olympia Dellal, Alice Dellal, Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, Melissa, Cara Delevingne…
Remember we talked about a certain collection designed by Karl Lagerfeld for Melissa? We now have more than just speculations, we have an official teaser! And guess who’s starring in it? My! Cara Delevingne, that’s who! Fashion’s absolute darling of the moment is buddying up with Karl (although she looks like she’s handling precious Ming China, if you’ll watch the video after the jump)!
Focus On Trendy Accessories: Charlotte Olympia Spring 2013
March 18th, 2013 by kpriss
Last week we talked about her famous sister, now let’s see what the lucrative and very sought-after Charlotte Olympia has been up to. If you’re trying to look back and see who’s the famous sister I was mentioning, and can’t really put your finger on it/her, it may be because I haven’t mentioned the shoes designer’s entire name: it’s Dellal. Charlotte Olympia Dellal. Ringing any bells already?
So you see, our fashion world is dominated by the talented people who worked hard to show their abilities and who struggled with determination to put their family’s wealth to good use. Charlotte Olympia is one of those labels everyone wants to wear. Shoes or accessories, the good fashion people love a piece of Charlotte Olympia’s signature spider web logoed creations. And, honestly, looking at her Spring 2013 collection, I would love some of those pretty creations myself!

Michael Kiwanuka Rest
March 17th, 2013 by kpriss
How was your weekend, my lovelies? I tried to keep it quiet and safe, regardless of the obviously loud St Pat celebrations. I mostly dreamed of heavenly shoes and pretty nails, enjoyed some family time and squeezed in some dancing classes with my sweet precious little princess.
‘Rest‘ is the song I’ve been obsessing about this weekend – I’m actually having a real weakness for Michael Kiwanuka’s soulful music. You may remember I brought him up a couple of months ago, with yet another lovely piece of music? So if you’re feeling up for a nice, peaceful tune, just hit the jump and let it flow!
For St Patrick’s Day, Saoirse Ronan Is Dazed And Confused April 2013
March 16th, 2013 by kpriss
With The Host release just around the corner, both Saoirse Ronan and Diane Kruger became editorial material. Not that they weren’t (editorial-worthy) to begin with, but when you’re part of a movie project like this one, it’s more likely that people find your ten times more interesting than before.
The Host is expected to reach similar popularity levels as Twilight since they were both originally spawned by the same author and target pretty much the same audience. But! (needless to say: tomorrow is St Patrick’s Day and this particular cover girl is Irish!) Saoirse is such an interesting material to work with: both fashion-wise and movie-wise, I can see why they kept it all minimal in her pictorial (although I keep looking for the shamrock to pop on one of them pages)!
