You know, I think I’m getting the hang of it: World’s Most Beautiful Woman, Hottest Supermodel… In a day or so, I’ll make up my own ‘World’s something’ title! Why not? Who even keeps a track on all these fancy schmancy pompous labels? Like I said earlier: one day it’s pink, the next is black, this season is blue the next is yellow (don’t take it literally, it was just meant as a generic comparison).
Miley Cyrus. Who we don’t know for sure if is still engaged or not, but what we found out is even more surprising than putting her wedding on hold! Maxim magazine elected Miley Cyrus as this year’s Hottest Woman Alive. Not that I wouldn’t like Miley or the controversy she’s so carefully surrounding herself with! She’s quite the effervescent personality. But really? The Hottest Woman Alive? By Disney standards, I presume…

You know I’ve had my rages with Melissa’s plastic shoes. And even though I admire and respect the designers who worked with the legendary Brazilian shoes brand, I still don’t see myself wearing plastic sandals… I used to wear jelly shoes in my young years and as much as I liked the designs and felt really comfortable in them, they really didn’t keep their fancy looks after some wearing.
The plastic started to become foggy and unpolished. Unlike leather that tends to look better with age, plastic tends to lose face. But that doesn’t bother me when it comes to kids shoes. Children don’t wear their shoes the next season. It’s a one season shoes affair with the kids. In the best of cases!

My dahlings: how familiar are you with Häagen-Dazs and its otherworldly flavored ice cream? I can’t really add words to that name to describe the delight with accuracy. But their latest advertising? Really puts Lagerfeld and his ice cream oddities on a pedestal (and Zac Posen, in comparison, is an ice-cream God)!
They had all the right ingredients, though! And still it went horribly wrong! Bradley Cooper advertising for Häagen-Dazs had immense potential. But I’m not a marketing wizard and I honestly have no idea how they could’ve turned this ad into a brilliant one. Maybe someone has any suggestion? At all? The print campaign, the one below, it’s really not the one you should worry about! The video commercial that you can see after the break is the mind blowing, intelligence insulting moment!

Angelina Jolie Vs. Cancer: Proactive Double Mastectomy

Although I used to follow news about Angelina Jolie and her life choices on a daily basis (read nearly obsessive), I was really surprised by the news of her double mastectomy. My initial reaction was stunned: I was stunned. Because I thought the worse had happened and she discovered she suffered from breast cancer. As I remembered her own mother died from cancer a couple of years back and these types of cancer are usually hereditary (doctors recommend that if the mother had breast cancer, the daughter has to start doing regular checkups far earlier than usual because this is, sadly, a type of cancer that runs in the family).
But no. Angelina Jolie had a double mastectomy as a preventive measure! I passed from stunned to shocked. Hit the jump to understand why I reacted the way I did!

We’ve talked about a lot of innovative materials and original designs molded into jewelry pieces. Although my preferences go towards bracelets and earrings, a statement necklace every now and then hasn’t hurt anyone! (wink)
But here I am, wondering if you would really wear a statement necklace made of wood chips. Painted, artistically cut but still hard wood. I know it’s pretty and unusual, but it can also be dangerous. Literally. Especially the pointed chips make me doubt I would dare to really wear these lovely necklaces designed by GBWorkshop’s owner, Gin hailing from Lithuania.

More gadgets, you said! Well, here I am, fulfilling your wishes! (wink) And having loads of fun while doing it! So summer is just around the corner (joy dance, yaaay!) and it’s time we step away from the stove & the oven, give our bodies the fresh stocks it needs after long cold days filled with processed food. It’s my philosophy. I’m not Gwyneth Paltrow, that’s for sure, but I try to keep the balance straight when it comes to nutrition and life regime.
