Madonna is the toughest…diamond girl! Everywhere you turn your head, another Madonna cover pops up. Now that we’ve all seen the boots, we can admire the bling.

“M-dolla” Chopard Knuckle Ring has more than 258 brilliant diamonds and appears on the cover of the much awaited “Hard Candy” album. But what’s the idea with this ring? It has a special feature we’re not aware of? Some kind of glowing in the dark thing? It gives the wearer superpowers? And I know she’s not a punker, however, I came across this Knuckle Brush and thought it would have been more becoming for Madge … It’s rougher than a blingie, it’s womanly enough, would have been a perfect waste of minutes to save the world…from dust.
What would it be? Bling it or dust it away?

I’m not a jewelry person, I said it and will again. That doesn’t stop me from being amazed when I see what’s becoming of the jewelry world drawer.

Like imagination is bound to gemstones and precious materials, and there’s where good taste ends (not in every case, even here I talked about the most expensive and in the same time the ugliest jewelry-watch), the undercurrent of jewelry, aside from the bling-breeze, is something of an edgy punkness I cannot even begin to understand before being appalled by it.

Few years ago, when the skinny – converse madness started, I was proud of my beautiful red one stars.

Now I don’t sport that look anymore or else people will see me when taking my kids in the park and take me as their older sister, since all adolescents are uniforming converse-skinny outfits. However, Converse will always be wearable, even if I momentarily discard them. This time they’ve got an anniversary to celebrate – their 100th, this summer. And the (not anymore) surprise was a collection of sneakers with scribbling from Kurt Cobain’s journals. Or at least that’s what we’re told. Inscriptions like “Punk Rock Means Freedom” will carry our young (and not only) steps through the day for a better living.

Pretty like a siren! I guess French women do have a certain charm and an unspoken beauty that sparkles more than any bling.

Marion Cotillard chose a Jean-Paul Gaultier dress from the Spring-Summer 2008 Couture Collection. Keeping the accessories to a minimum, Marion looked like a fairy tale figure, all modest and perfectly matched, with loose waves on a side and a disarming smile. Congrats, Marion, for your Oscar! (she won for the leading role in “La vie en rose”)

If you’d ask me how I put up with all that let it bling over me, I’d say it’s just entertainment. Some people like watching stand up comedy, I like watching the latest most-bling-iest products issued.

Of course I have nothing against stand up comedy, au contraire! But looking at all these new sparkling things invading the market just keeps my eyebrows raised. Now it’s the LV USB key.

Let it bling over me gives you another fierce posting – The Chanel Choco Phone designed by Fred de Garilhe.

Looks awful, sounds even more – integrating 12 micro optical lighter fibers and displaying images between two glass parts. Lights only appear when opening the phone (or pushing the removable part on the side).

What happened to those days when a phone was only used to call or being called? Is there an end to all that? Next you’ll know, they’ll be making phones looking like champagne bottles and naming them bubbling phones!
