Do you remember rumors about Karen Elson and Jack White getting a divorce a while back and celebrating the occasion as if it were an engagement, or a wedding?
I was deeply surprised back then, and, from my conservative perspective over marriage, I couldn’t bring myself to understand a word of it. I still don’t. However, I may be one of the few who truly believes in “till death do us part” since people do celebrate divorces and now there’s also a Divorce Ring to show off the state of your love – affairs. The Divorce Ring, made by Spritzer and Furman is a $3,200 gold and diamonds sparkle showing a heart broken in two. Would you consider this reason enough to buy this (or any other similar) ring?

Today started out like one of those normal days I just go on scrolling endlessly for amazing news to share with you my lovelies! Instead, I discovered that the Venice Film Festival was already on a roll and the Red Carpet looks deserve our most fashionable attention! Let’s get to it!
My first choice for this Venice film festival Red Carpet is the always fascinating Madonna. She was pretty festive for the premiere of her movie W.E. and covered herself up in a soft blue – gray Vionnet dress with a storm of red butterflies on. I can only go as far as to describe it as looking “good”. And that’s about it. It’s hard for me to associate butterflies and Madonna – although she’s been in a perpetual state of chrysalis all her life, I always found her to be a particularly strong woman, thus nothing resembling a fragile butterfly. Could this be a hint that she’s transforming again? (will you watch her movie? I heard it’s far from good) (photos via 1, 2)

The vacation season is in full bloom still so it’s no wonder I wasn’t aware of what happens on the Red Carpet. However, after doing some serious browsing and stumbling across images from the New York premiere of Anne Hathaway’s latest movie, One Day, I was forced to update my Red Carpet fashion data.
To my greatest surprise, I found Rachel Roy, a fashion designer, wearing a pajama like suit – light blue with white stripes on. Take a look below and tell me what you think! Also, after the jump, the adorable Coco Rocha, present for the above mentioned premiere, was wearing a white strapless maxi dress with strange motifs on, the fabric reminding me more of a curtain or tablecloth than Red Carpet suitable outfits.

Since Mariah Carey had her twins, little has been heard of her (professionally). Of course nasty rumors circulated saying that she was drinking alcohol while nursing and the Social Serviced had to follow up and pay her a visit, however, all that proved to as effective as putting rainbows in a jar, for the rumors were plain nasty and baseless.
Now getting back to Mariah Carey, the professional – remember she had a series of perfumes called Lollipop? Well, come this very July, Mariah will launch the Lollipop Splash the Remix perfumes! If you can’t sing something new, mix something old, eh, Mariah? Inseparable, Never Forget You and Vision of Love, the usual scents mixed with jelly beans and French Macaroon for this edition. I’m enthusiastic about the Remix, but I think I’ll wait the Ft edition or better – the best of? (via)

Though I’m sure that the Royal wedding is nothing but a pretext for this bling thing, I have to admit it looks pretty interesting. For a blinged car!
Bling My Thing (which is actually a lucrative Berlin business) used a Mini Cooper to present what they think should be the perfect matrimonial car for the Royal Couple. Adorned with more than 300,000 Swarovski crystals, with, biensur, a Union Jack roof, the sparkling Mini looks really princess-ish, despite my usual reserves when it comes to blinged up goods. Would I drive one of these if the occasion presented itself? Sure. Would I want one to own and drive on a regular basis? Not in a million years. How about you? (via)

Nonsense rambling aside, Alexander McQueen was seriously celebrated by fashion magazines and if Kate Moss’ Harper’s Bazaar wasn’t what you would expect from your regular fashion pictorial, maybe Vogue US Alexander The Great feature would sooth your fashsoul!
From the models they used (Caroline Trentini, Coco Rocha, Karen Elson, Karlie Kloss, Raquel Zimmerman, Stella Tennant) to the museum – friendly settings and the time – stands – still feeling, Alexander is Great as remembered by Sarah Burton, photographed by Steven Meisel and styled by Grace Coddington. Sure, nothing can beat Daphne Guinness’ epic, but this is a great way to remember McQueen and his undoubted sartorial and theatrical genius, which feature you liked most? Harper’s or this one? I was thinking about that amazing Up project? How hard can it be? And while I was looking around the interwebs for something interesting to bring you, I came across a most interesting dress. Then it hit me: how hard can it be to wear a cupcake dress? How about a paper dress?
We’ve seen a wedding cake dress before, it wouldn’t be the first one but from what I get, people love a quirky challenge. Especially if it tastes good! And Katherine Kallinis and Sophie LaMontagne’s Georgetown Cupcakes cupcake wedding dress looks like torn from a fairy tale! And I bet it also tastes like a fairy tale too! But if you could, which one would you choose? cupcake or paper? (click through for more!)

I was thinking about a St Patrick’s Day celebratory moment here. And what do you know, I found just the thing! More so, since I already started talking about nesting, houses and decorating them, why stop here? Let’s take a step further and dig deep into the fashpeople’s intimacy, see where they live (from time to time) and how they decorated the place (or their interior decorator fulfilled their dreams).
Daphne Guinness, Guinness heiress extraordinaire (yes, in case you’re missing the hint – we’re talking about the real Irish beer – Guinness!). I guess she needs no other introductions. Fashion person extraordinaire (and half of her extraordinaire-ness is rooted in her financial power), Daphne chose a flamboyant décor for her New York Apartment. Click through and you’ll see just what I mean!
