Natalia Vodianova and Isabeli Fontana for Versace Fall-Winter 08-09 Ad Campaign
March 19th, 2008 by kpriss
Even if she gave up the catwalk, Natalia Vodianova is not giving up fashion. She will team up with Isabeli Fontana for Versace Fall-Winter 08-09 Advertising Campaign.
Shot by Mario Testino, this campaign proves that being a mother doesn’t mean your modeling career is over. Both Isabeli and Natalia have children of their own (Isabeli has 2 boys and Natalia two boys and a girl) and still go strong in the fashion industry. Do you believe in working mothers?

The long awaited and long praised Macbook Air once released it was only natural that we see how judges will received it.
When we’re talking fashion, we have specialist opinions that we value the most, people with experience in the industry or with an eye for style. When talking computers, everyone seems entitle to speak and judge. Using a computer seems to give each and every user a special it degree.

The Mattress Shaped Like the Human Body
March 19th, 2008 by kpriss
I wonder if sleeping in a normal bed, with a normal mattress makes me dream about finding my car banged up pretty bad in the parking spot, sleeping in this bed what would make me dream of!
Or better again – if I could even get some sleep whatsoever too frighten no to fall from the glorious bed! Sleeping like a baby was named after this! One because they really sleep all crouched like that and two because they hardly get any sleep at all. (Dominic Wilcox)

Pete Wentz Clandestine Industries Collection for Nordstrom
March 18th, 2008 by kpriss
It’s like every day passing by it’s in vain if a new celebrity-turned-designer collection isn’t announced!
Today it’s Fall out boy’s Pete Wentz turn. He’s been on the designer seat for a year now (since he’s reportedly launched a line for DKNY Jeans last year) and his brand Clandestine Industries (born in 2004) is doing rather good.
So he’ll be doing an exclusive for Nordstrom with almost unisex designed clothes, not because he’s a fan of girlish dresses but because he loves wearing slimmer jeans. Mmm, whatever.. next you know, he’ll express his inner designer self better wearing a pair of high heels. Why not? Unisex’em all, mister!
Clandestine name is not enough to sell the collection, so Nordstrom will begin pushing a DVD (“Making Mischief”) in April with a behind the scenes video of the incredible design collaboration plus 10 unreleased Wentz tracks (a preview has been issued).
As for the collection itself, besides this pajama–t-shirt and the already torn one for better perspiration, I haven’t really had much of a choice when looking at the preview of the collection. I’m still thinking about it, but one of these days, if news continues to overflow with celeb-designer, I’m gonna get my pencils, a good old notebook and start doing some serious sketching! At least Walmart’s gonna take me, right?

Boucheron Snake Chocolate Necklace
March 18th, 2008 by kpriss
When you go out and buy your new $20,000 car (ahem… handbag), then stop by La Maison du Chocolat and buy yourself a chocolate necklace.
I don’t even know if you can actually wear the thing. The facts remain – for Boucheron’s 150th anniversary, a gold snake skeleton necklace coated and decorated with (real) chocolate carrying a diamond has been made and awaits gourmands.
I love anniversaries! Especially when you’re getting to the cake-part! However, having a necklace in chocolate makes me wonder if it’s something to wear or something to eat.
It’s easy to diet when rich, right? You’re facing such dilemmas!
The 20.08 carat tinted yellow diamond is not to eat, that’s for sure! Eventually you replace it with the diamond shaped chocolates created for the same occasion.
I have no idea what’s the price of this… necklace. But help me out here – it’s to wear? It’s to eat?

Ralph Lauren $19,000 Ricky Bag
March 18th, 2008 by kpriss
So I wake up this morning, calmly eat my breakfast and read my emails, the dream I had last night still haunts me but I’m sending it away and then I come across this article.
Ralph Lauren issued a $19, 000 Handbag. Eyebrows high up, I’m looking again at the title and ask myself why it’s so shocking. Then it hit me – last night I dreamed how I found my car all banged up in the parking space. So in my dream, thinking that I should just change it (especially to get a bigger one for the kids), I stuck the idea in my head and still found it there after waking up.
Now reading that a handbag actually can cost as much as another car, I can’t help myself but wondering what income does she has, the girl who spends $20,000 over a handbag?
Looking at this Ralph Lauren bag and reading it’s made of goatskin and this “exclusive” Grey Anthracite one is available at Harrods, I draw the following conclusions – goats are very expensive. Especially the Grey ones (they must be rare!) and they only come in awful designs for outrageously high prices.
Tell me – is this bag rightfully costing $19,000?

Marimekko for Avon Collection
March 18th, 2008 by kpriss
After H & M, Marimekko is called for another collection. This time only, in Beauty Industry.
Avon has made an announcement that it’s preparing a collaboration with the Finnish textile designer. The details are unknown so I just let my imagination fly and chose one of the textile prints available on the Marimekko site for this Spring, put it together with the Avon Cosmetics logo and then sat and think about how would a Marimekko Avon Collection look like.
And now I’m asking you – usually you’re using the cosmetics at home (most of the women are putting on their make up and beauty care products in the bathroom). What difference does it make if the beauty case for your eye shadow is pink, black or purple? (randomly chosen) Or if the body lotion comes in yellow, green or blue bottles if it’s effective? Maybe I’m just being picky, or maybe Avon just planned this collaboration on the accessories side and I’m expanding it to makeup and beauty products in my imagination. But what do you say, after all? Is the packaging more important for you than the actual product?

Evangeline Lilly Lost in Fragrance for Davidoff Cool Water
March 17th, 2008 by kpriss
The first two seasons were completely electrifying for me. Then they kinda “Lost” me and I came back now for this season, waiting episode after episode to see what are they going to pull out of the hat next.
After managing a quasi relationship between Kate and Sawyer, I thought it will remain like that (I’m sorry if this comes as a spoiler for you, it was kinda predictable, after all), they had some chemistry going on and they managed to show a credible couple.
Off screen, Kate and Sawyer do have something in common – Josh Holloway the actor behind the character was contracted last year to front Davidoff’s Cool Water fragrance. And he does it pretty well. Now they’ve contracted Evangeline Lilly, the actress behind the Kate character to represent Davidoff’s Cool Water for Women. (I personally find it to be an excellent choice – she’s athletic, she’ll always be remembered having something to do with an island, the ocean, the beach, free spirited and wearing the same tank tops).
Back at Davidoff they try to convince us that “there’s strength that’s underneath it all, that is where sensuality comes from – versus just pure sexiness.”. Some pearl of wisdom they’ve issued! Leaves me with one impression – bodybuilders are breathing sexiness!
