Finally some good news! Finally some qualified designer work hitting the high street fashion stores!
And it looks good too! I’m not the H & M buyer par excellence. Sincerely, if I’m faced with a choice, I’d go for Gap (for the entire family!), but that doesn’t stop me from filling up my wardrobe with H & M, Divided or Logo (I still cry over my special pair of velour pants from the Karl Lagerfeld Collection at H & M that I haven’t been able to stroll around this year because of my pregnancy).
So, the pieces from the Marimekko Collection for Hennes and Mauritz just came in and they look as beautiful as announced! I love this seventies flower power thing! And I’m not a hippie, I just don’t like it when clothes go stiff on me, so I prefer a wider cut, a joyful print and liberty to match and wear outfits.
As for the kids, it’s really fashion heaven! Especially when after a walk in the park I have to give them a shower the next thing after walking through the door!
Who is Marimekko? It’s a leading Finnish textile and clothing company originally created in 1951 with renowned patterns and colors in interior design, bags, accessories and clothing. Their successful prints have hit the H & M design team and this Spring Summer 2008 50 pieces Collection came up out of nowhere! It will be available from April 10th at affordable prices (a dress is $49.90 and a one piece swimsuit $34.90). Looking at these first pictures, would you go tropical in the city?
