Fashionable Bandages LV, Chanel, Burberry: Brandages
October 31st, 2011 by kpriss
Although this is a great story and wonderful first aid material, my guess it that once the word spreads about Brandages, measures will be taken, legal pursuits will begin and the funny initiative will cease its activity. Because we’ve seen it before, it’s only fair to let the Brandages people know that storm is coming. Legal branding storm is coming.
Until then, however, we have the chance to admire this (brave) enterprise: branded band-aids will help you heal in style and high fashion: Burberry, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel trademark prints (with minor logo tweaks). Choose your favorite or just wear them all for a fashionable statement! Your love bite will never look this fashionable! (check them out here and order from here)
Karl Lagerfeld: My Name Is Labelfeld, Not Lagerfeld!
October 30th, 2011 by kpriss
A very interesting interview with Karl Lagerfeld has been brought to my attention the other day. Aside from watching it several times so I could decipher der Kaiser’s speech, I felt saddened by the fact that not many people in the fashion industry are as gifted and as dedicated as Karl Lagerfeld. Of course, Der Kaiser is so talented and involved that he wants to stick his nose in anything. From Haute Couture to tableware, Lagerfeld is everywhere.
Another interesting fact stated by Karl Lagerfeld, is that when he took over the creative position chez Chanel, the house wasn’t iconic at all. He made it what it is today, although he’s convinced that Coco herself wouldn’t have approved of what he did. (check out the video after the jump)
“You know, when I was asked to do it, Chanel wasn’t trendy at all. The owner said, ‘I’m not proud of the business. If you can make something, OK. If not, I’ll sell it. […] The label has an image. It’s up to me to update it. What I did, [Coco Chanel] never did, she would have hated. […]”I’m a walking label. My name is Labelfeld, not Lagerfeld.”

Lindsey Wixson’s Style.com Print Magazine Spring 2012
October 30th, 2011 by kpriss
When they dropped the news about the notorious fashion online destination Style dot com going for the print, I thought it was a joke. Printed magazines go head over heels to prevent their content from breaking online and an online zine wants to do print?… why would they? (only days ago, the people from Conde Nast pulled back the December 2011 materials from the British edition of Vogue – somehow they were available online against their will so they pushed the legal buttons and everyone stepped back. Life. Online.)
Yeah, so back to the Style.com/Print. Their first ever issue, the Spring 2012 one, has Lindsey Wixson on the cover.
A cover picture that doesn’t work in Lindsey’s advantage.
It’s their first attempt at the printed press, let’s close our eyes and hope the inside content is worth the $14,99 price on the newsstand. Would you pay that much for it?
Halloween Music: I Put A Spell On You
October 29th, 2011 by kpriss
One of the most popular Halloween songs: I Put A Spell On You! Just can’t go around it this weekend! I hope all your pumpkins are ready and all the trick and treat bags waiting by the door! Have a very scary Halloween weekend! Mwuahahaha! (wink)
This song has as many covers as Screamin’ Jay Hawkins had children! I could barely decide which ones to include and which I didn’t like so much. Anyway, whether you’re celebrating Halloween or not, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins I Put a Spell on You is a classic and I hope you’ll like it!
Walking Dead Nails For Halloween
October 29th, 2011 by kpriss
Already being one of the most appreciated (and, biensur, watched) TV series right now, AMC’s Walking Dead has been picked up for a second season. I really doubt this was a Halloween influenced decision, either way, the simple truth remains that we’ll be seeing zombies for at least another year.
Safely assumed as a trend, the walking dead thing can make a successful inspiration source for this Halloween. And since I’m not so big in FX makeup, I’ll share a bit of nail science by bringing you what I think are the best zombie manicure I’ve seen so far! My daaahlings, here are the Walking Dead Nails! (much like those white and red Dexter-ish nails, these ones too made it on top of my favorite Halloween do-s list; if you want to know more about AMC’s The Walking Dead series, check out the official website here)
Fashionista’s Home: The Little Black Dresser Chest
October 28th, 2011 by kpriss
Talking about a true fashionista’s home decoration accents we’ve touched her wardrobe organization with famous examples, we even mentioned a couple of things about how this and that can be organized in order to fall into the fashionable category.
Now I found this most charming piece of furniture any fashionista should own. Sooner or later! The Little Black Dresser chest of drawers! I was most surprised by the design and, most of all, by the sartorial charm of this furniture piece. It’s “trompe l’oeuil” at its finest carving, as designed by Judson Beaumont from Straight Line Designs. Isn’t it precious? Oh, and while we’re at it, please check out the Minnie and Mickey Cabinets, the Goofy Mirror and the Donald Cabinet or the amazing Bug Street Organizer after the jump!
Nicole Scherzinger London Fog Ads
October 27th, 2011 by kpriss
Are you familiar with London Fog? Umm, yes the ones who photoshopped out Gisele Bundchen’s baby bump, but other than that?
(worried face) I’ll tell you something you may not have known about London Fog! They’re a US born (1923) and based label, the world’s largest outerwear and raincoats manufacturer (in the 80s) with trademarked fabrics which would get you through the fog-iest weather (wink).
Although undoubtedly one of the strongest memories I have about London Fog is their controversial photoshop – operation on Gisele’s baby bump, I’m trying to focus on something else. Toujours advertising oriented, but on a positive note.
If you had any doubts that Nicole Scherzinger was really big right now, consider throwing all your doubts out the window! Nicole Scherzinger is the face.. umm the body of London Fog for their new advertorial season. (she replaces Christina Hendricks, known and appreciated for her Mad Men interpretation; even Eva Longoria and her then-husband, Tony Parker did an ad campaign season for London Fog!). Yesterday a Vogue photo shoot, today a London Fog ad campaign.. What else, Nicole? (photos 1, 2)

Heidi Klum’s 2011 Halloween Costumes
October 27th, 2011 by kpriss
Yes, yes, you’re reading that right! She has not one but two Halloween costumes this year!
Notoriously appreciated for her Halloween parties, Heidi Klum’s Halloween costumes are the most palpable proof that she’s really getting into the spirit of this celebration. For 2011, Heidi has two parties – one in Las Vegas and one in New York so, naturally, she made herself two costumes. One which is supposed to be “The (In)visible Woman” and the other “The Missing Link”. Also known as the Human Anatomy Costume and the Monkey Costume. I’m having troubles deciding which one I hate most, so please help me out? (more images after the break! also check out the fittings video right after the jump, photos from the parties and Heidi’s past Halloween costumes here)
