There’s much to talk about in this month’s Vogue editions! If Vogue Paris is feeling left out with all that Vogue US talk lately, here’s something to make up for that: Milla Jovovich pictorial from Vogue Paris February 2013.
I wanted to add these images – upon their surfacing – to the original cover story. Except something changed my mind about that. The very pictorial. Clearly not what I expected. And as good as that may sound, the reality is much worse! Milla Jovovich is actually shooting her way through the entire pictorial. And that, in the light of recent events, just seems wrong. Ahead of the 2nd Inauguration Ball, Michelle Obama joined her husband, Barack Obama, for the 2nd Swearing In today, January 20th 2013. The ceremony took place in Washington D.C., in the Blue Room of the White House.
And the First Lady wore… what else? A blue Reed Krakoff dress! Known for her exquisite style choice and her avant-garde fashion choice, Michelle Obama was perfectly matched with an equally blue cardigan. Making the delight of commentators since Thursday, January 19th, when she made her first appearance with the new haircut, Michelle Obama’s bangs really compliment her figure and add a modern aura to her look.

The ever playful Alber Elbaz, my dahlings, is ready to put on a Lancome show, for our eyes only! (pun intended) An entire makeup collection signed by Lanvin’s creative, Alber Elbaz for the cosmetics giant, Lancome.
The preview, teaser clip of what sounds like a dreamy collaboration is after the jump: don’t expect explicit details or revealing images! Expect the usual joyful and playful style that made Alber Elbaz famous. One thing we do find out from the Lancome & Alber Elbaz teaser preview: the collection is set to release for June 15th 2013! Can. Not. Wait! For years, now, I’ve been faithful to Lancome’s mascaras, I’m really curious to see what Alber Elbaz’s mascara vision is!

Going though yet another day with yet another Vogue – talk. Like Carrie Bradshaw once memorably said that upon her arrival in NY she bought Vogue instead of food because she felt it fed her more, we’re constantly going through the pages of the iconic magazine’s latest issue, looking for more treasures to discuss about.
Like this one: Craig McDean’s ‘Here comes the night’ pictorial showing a handful of pretty models and their boyfriends dressed up and dressed down. It’s not a new idea, even for Vogue, we saw it happening before and we loved it: real couples from the fashion industry.
Most Disappointing Fashion Collaboration: Raf Simons Adidas Sneakers

I’ve been looking here and there for the right pair of athletic shoes for yours truly to wear & tear. I haven’t yet reached a decision as to which is the best brand or which sneakers offers the best comfort in the most stylish way (as you may suspect it, I’m seriously taking pink sneakers into consideration – wink.).
Not necessarily wanting a designer shoe, I’m mostly oriented towards the traditional athletic apparel brands (New Balance, Nike, Adidas, Reebok and such). But that doesn’t mean I’m ignoring the posh designer sneakers, no sireee! I’m always peaking at the ‘big guns’ see how they’re mixing fashion & sport in a harmonious way.

Emmy Rossum These Foolish Things & More

Are you familiar with Emmy Rossum? Yes, ‘Shameless’ Emmy Rossum. She also starred in Mystic River, The Day After Tomorrow and Poseidon, to name just a few of her titles as an actress (‘Shameless’ is her latest TV series, pretty popular, at its 3rd season already.)
But did you know that Emmy Rossum is also a singer and songwriter? I didn’t! Imagine my surprise when I dug deeper and found out that ‘Sentimental Journey’ is actually her second album! The first one, Inside Out, was released in 2007 and was sold in little under 30,000 units up to date.
Now I don’t know how you feel about retro rhythms and retro videos, but if you’re willing to experiment, do hit the play button and see / hear Emmy Rossum perform. I think we might be on to something here…
Original Carhartt Jacket, Vogue Material!

Remember we talked about Carhartt a while back? It was because (what else?) a certain Carhartt Jacket was worn by Joseph Gordon – Levitt in a movie – Looper, to be more specific.
Well, here we are, having the Carhartt conversation again because – well, believe it or not – a classic Carhartt work jacket was featured in the last issue of Vogue US. The pictorial in question is called ‘The American Way’ and it was photographed by Peter Lindbergh. The $85 jacket is worn by the beautiful Amber Valletta who’s starring in this photo story with Taylor Kinney.
41yo Jared Leto’s New Hugo Boss Hugo Red Campaign

So how about that, huh? Jared Leto is most definitely part of the same league as Keanu Reeves and Denzel Washington. And I’m not saying that just because he’s a talented actor. Which he is. Too bad the movie industry lost him for the music stage as he seems more involved with his band than Hollywood at the moment.
But we’re still enjoying Jared Leto as the face of Hugo Boss in 2013. Here’s his latest commercial for Hugo Boss’ latest perfume, Hugo Red. The video per se (you can watch it after the jump), doesn’t make much fashion sense (especially when they say that ‘Red means Go’) except if you look at it from the Avengers perspective.
