Most Disappointing Fashion Collaboration: Raf Simons Adidas Sneakers

I’ve been looking here and there for the right pair of athletic shoes for yours truly to wear & tear. I haven’t yet reached a decision as to which is the best brand or which sneakers offers the best comfort in the most stylish way (as you may suspect it, I’m seriously taking pink sneakers into consideration – wink.).

Not necessarily wanting a designer shoe, I’m mostly oriented towards the traditional athletic apparel brands (New Balance, Nike, Adidas, Reebok and such). But that doesn’t mean I’m ignoring the posh designer sneakers, no sireee! I’m always peaking at the ‘big guns’ see how they’re mixing fashion & sport in a harmonious way.

Here’s what Dior’s Raf Simons and adidas worked on! Two sneakers models, one uglier than the next!

Part of Raf Simons just presented Fall Winter 2013 2014 Menswear collection, the new sneakers look so disappointing, I can’t bring myself to believe that this is the work of the designer who runs the exquisite house of Dior! But given my newfound love for all things pink, one would understand that a pair of men sneakers look unappealing to my eyes.

So I’m asking you: how do you feel about Raf Simons adidas sneakers? Are they just too futuristic for my understanding? Just in case: they’ll be available for purchase this summer. (images styledotcom)

It looks dull indeed. Definitely lacking zest.

I suggest you to check Dirk Bikkenbergs sneakers. They look boyish (what I love ) and are the most confortable for work outs.

ana, and again I agree. Bikkenberg is the one who’s doing this so well and fun for many, many years yet.

It looks like Simon’s had a lack of inspiration for the shoe wear.

thank you, ana! They sure look nice and if you say they’re comfortable, I think they’ve just gone up substantially on my list! :) me and my pink obsession! pffff! Gray / black is so much better and boyish is so much more honest!

so you’re familiar with Bikkenbergs too, Appollonia?

Why do you question that I am familiar with Dirk Bikkemberg? He’s from Belgium. The man is around since ages!! He’s a remarkable personality. My ex wore some of his stuff we bought in outlets in Antwerp. (Antwerpen to me.) The city with the first fantastic outlets back already in the ’80’s!!

He has gone bankrupt but is back on track I believe? At least I hope.

It’s BikkeMberg by the way.
