30 Seconds To Mars Kings + Queens

I was on to some sweet break at first but something made me change my mind: one day, at the radio (my car radio, the one that only plays children music when my car is the official kiddies bus, knows how to break the rhythm when there’s only mommy riding!) I heard this beautiful, beautiful tune! And after it had finished, they said it was 30 Seconds to Mars. yes, as in Jared Leto‘s 30STM!

I’m bringing it to you, to judge the beauty of it! Thank your for this most amazing week, for your truly wonderful and insightful comments, I hope you enjoy 30 Seconds to Mars Kings + Queens!

I was never fully prepared to accept Jared Leto’s musical adventure. I always thought he was a brilliant actor. Deranged, but very gifted. (don’t let me start the Requiem For A Dream pro-plea again!) Thus I haven’t had the pleasure of really listening 30 Seconds to Mars. This time, however, it’s different! Not only the tune has that engaging, fantastic, full of promises name, but the video? It reminded me so much of the Fisher King, I was instantly sold!

So who is 30 Seconds to Mars after all? (in very, very short:) It’s Jared Leto, Shannon Leto and Tomo Milicevic. Though they started in 1998, their first album, 30 Seconds to Mars, came in 2002. Their second album, A Beautiful Life, was dropped in 2005 and was pretty acclaimed by the public and the critics. Their third album (subject to a contract infringement controversy with Virgin Records) will debut this very December 2009 and it’s called This Is War.

Kings + Queens is the debut single of 30STM’s third album and though it’s undeniable that the song calls for U2 heavy influences, it still remains beautifully epic. And that’s why I heart it. Also I do believe I needed something strong to round up this febrile week. How do you like it?

Indeed, it’s a beautiful video, Jared is a great actor but his music does do not nothing for me. Too much influences from other musicians…..sorry, something real strong? Muse’s “Uprising”? That’s possible because I sit here armed and ready to see them perform tonight!! I hear even Muse in this song…maybe I’m too much under their influence instead of going to Mars?

Kpriss, despite you’ve been ill, terrorised by a virus, we here have hardly noticed it. :)
So thanks as always for the wonderful week. Have a great weekend all. Mine will be fine.
