Inez and Vinoodh Spree – Yves Saint Laurent Fall-Winter 08-09 with Naomi Campbell
March 24th, 2008 by kpriss
The word is out that Yves Saint Laurent Fall-Winter 2008-2009 Campaign found its face – Naomi Campbell.
And they trusted the mission in the hands of Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, the Dutch couple soon to set a fashion of their own since they’re allover the place. I’m really curious if this YSL Fall –Winter campaign will look anything like the Manifesto. Anyway, things are getting back to old school for the big fashion house. Spring Summer Manifesto with Kate Moss, now Naomi. (the ads are shot in Paris, reportedly present times). Besides being a pretty face, the soon-38 model is she the wise choice for YSL? Is controversy feeding enough the numbers behind Yves Saint Laurent?

Peaches Geldof Collection for PPQ
March 24th, 2008 by kpriss
Peaches Geldof, the vegetarian, daughter of Sir Geldof is joining the celeb-designer wave.
Of course, she’s more of a fashionista than the others, her sense of style is far more educated so she’ll make a strikingly talented designer. Right? If I was the daughter of who knows what celebrity, or if I was more of a celebrity myself, I would have changed career in no time, making this year jewelry, next year clothes, then accessories, then fragrances, then cosmetics, then home decorations and that would have covered what? 6 years! Wow! Busy bees celebrities are!
Not to overlook the official declarations from PPQ! Completely fascinating! Like everyone’s using the same PR agent:
It’s a natural progression that Peaches is designing with us (…)We have managed to provide her with everything a girl needs to party in, and now we have put our heads together and taken things to the next step.
If you could do a capsule collection for a high street fashion store, would you? Knowing it’s not actually your formation? And if you would, for which brand would you do it?

Another Inez and Vinoodh – Adriana Lima for GQ Magazine April 2008
March 23rd, 2008 by kpriss
So they can pass over gloomy attitudes and inexpressive faces to something far more appealing.
I’m convinced each chief editor has the veto on how an editorial has to turn out. My intentions here, after posting about Kate Moss photos by Inez and Vinoodh for French Vogue, were to understand why in GQ’s perspective, women can be attractive, look alive and healthy and in Roitfeld view, sexy is hunted, lost, tobacco, leather and open vests.
Kate Moss Cover by Inez and Vinoodh- French Vogue April
March 23rd, 2008 by kpriss
The world can’t get enough of controversy. The world can’t get enough of Kate Moss.
The French Vogue issued a new number with Kate on the cover shot by Inez and Vinoodh. The editorial is rather Brigitte Bardot-ish, in a raw nude-rock attitude. 70s air and mini-outfitted La Moss go for a photo shoot by the lake.
I’m not a fan of tobacco glamour, as I already said before and thus I didn’t posted the pictures where KM was photographed holding a cigarette.
D & G Strapless Dress – My Favorite Dress
March 23rd, 2008 by kpriss
Yesterday I found a dress I had my heart on for some time. I told you I’m a dress-girl.
This D&G Dolce and Gabbana dress featured in the fashion editorial from French Vogue (april 2008 issue) on Daria Werbowy comes from the Spring Summer rtw 2008 collection and has just about everything to please me. Floor length, ruffled, multi printed. I have a thing for gipsy looking prints.
The only thing I found wrong with this dress (if I would have found the price, then this would have been my “second only thing”) it’s the lack of straps. Normally it’s a very feminine cut, but carrying kids and strapless dresses don’t really make good friends. What are your favorite dresses?

Skinny is a New Social Standard?
March 22nd, 2008 by kpriss
Skinny’s on everyone’s lips lately. Whether it’s envy or true concern, under-weighted people are looked at with anger.
I came across this editorial from French Vogue (april issue) and I wanted to share with you the pearls of wisdom read in the scanned pages. Being more than a question of look, thin is more of a (self) control issue. On the opposite, gaining weight is, for 40% of the questioned women (in a study from OCHA/CSA), a sign of losing control, lack of will power, hence moral breakdown.
Agatha Ruiz de la Prada Designs Bic Lighters
March 22nd, 2008 by kpriss
I thought there was a campaign trying to inhibit smoking or at least discourage smokers from looking at their habit as a glamorous one.
Obviously I was wrong since rumor has it that Agatha Ruiz de la Prada has redesigned the Slim and Mini Bic Lighters giving them a spring makeup. Or I may be still wrong if you tell me lighters are mainly used for something else than smoking. Are they? What’s the purpose when redesigning the means to an end?

Sasha Pivovarova by Hedi Slimane for French Vogue April Issue
March 22nd, 2008 by kpriss
It’s all about being skinny, right? Blonde, willowy, messy looking and smoking. That’s Roitfeld’s vision of the in vogue fashion world.
If he continues like that, Hedi Slimane’s trademarks will remain blonde, slim, smoking women. Until that moment when we’ll be overdosing with Mr. Slimane’s obsessions, we sit back and enjoy another beautiful photoshoot by Hedi.
