Munny Fashionable Toys
May 28th, 2008 by kpriss
Munny is the world’s greatest do-it-yourself toy. A little white doll for you to paint and customize at will.
More than anything, kidrobot, the munny mother-company has a great philosophy I absolutely have to share with you (if you were already familiar, I’m sure it will be a pleasure to re-read the lines following right after the picture):
The Future According To Lacoste
May 28th, 2008 by kpriss
Since everyone’s getting ahead of fashion presenting shows a year ahead of their time, why not presenting points of view 75 years ahead?
I talked tennis yesterday, I won’t stop now – Lacoste wants to reinvent the game to celebrate 75 years since the brands exists. For the company branded under the saying “Un peu d’air sur terre”, I was expecting something less computerized and more earthly.
If in 75 years tennis will look like that, I’d have no other problem with it but solitude. Nevertheless, if we will look like that tennis player in 75 years from now, we’re in deep trouble because that didn’t had anything human except a physical here and there resemblance. What do you think this campaign was made to prove?

Counting Calories Chocolate Bar
May 27th, 2008 by kpriss
I’m always having troubles with measuring how much butter I need to make my cookies. Then again, I’m always happy when it’s marked on the package…
So it’s the case with this chocolate. It’s precut (and marked) on calories-portions. Say today you just discovered a perfect bag and then found out it costs $20,000 – you take the 55 cal piece! Tomorrow you find a steal for $150, jumping for joy, you cut down to 10cal!
I wonder when it’s going to get proper introductions to fashion world. This chocolate bar will set a trend. Of depression.

Victoria Secret VSX Yoga Line
May 27th, 2008 by kpriss
I guess when Victoria’s Secret were saying that the sexy factor was going to suffer serious cut back, I wasn’t thinking about tracksuits!
But then again, the word is that VSX is the new brand to be launched over at Victoria’s to cover the demand for a sport line “complimentary to a women’s figure and supportive”. In a seriously shallow SATC moment, we’re told by the VSX store executives that it’s not a question of Sport and The City: “Most suburban mothers wear the stuff all day,”
I admit wearing “that stuff” at home or when pregnant (hereby I confess my weakness for velour tracksuits) and I don’t feel sub/urban when wearing them. But compared to actual “yoga” pant, is a difference from here to Mars, like Marc the Jacobs says.. I would never replace my velour pants with yoga pants. Would you?

Comptoir Des Cotonniers New York
May 27th, 2008 by kpriss
I practically grew up with mothers and daughters philosophy from Comptoir des Cotonniers! I love that idea so much that I’m thinking maybe, one day, give it a try with my baby girl..
Eh, until that day, so you know, Comptoir des Cotonniers opens a store in New York, in Soho (155 Spring Street) in September. From the same family as Uniqlo, Comptoir has major expanding plans for U.K, Spain, Italy and Germany making Fast Retailing (the mother company) worth the name.
Were you any familiar with the mothers and daughters campaign?

Marc Jacobs Corporate Wisdom
May 27th, 2008 by kpriss
Praise Marc, for he is truly an artist and he knows the corporate ways of business! In an interview for the students at London’s Central Saint Martins College, he was face to face with one of the professors there – journalist Sarah Mower.
I wonder what the students will learn from this declaration à la Marc L’Enfant terrible:
I don’t understand corporate people — I always say the design team’s on the second floor and the corporate people are on the fifth floor, and it might as well be the distance between here and Mars
Anarchy is no good Marc, look where it got you!

Sunglasses Go With Everything!
May 27th, 2008 by kpriss
If your imagination bounds you to the classical way of wearing sunglasses, artists have thought about some others…
And this is another way of taking full advantage of your expensive sunglasses fetish – dip’em! Jamie Chung’s melted chocolate for New York “Best of New York” issue and Horacio Salinas honey Tom Ford Killer Bees for the New York Times Magazine. I’m not presenting these in any other way more than just experimental art. But if you have any ideas (and why not pictures of your own) with dipped shades, I’ll be more than happy to post them here! Being creative is bliss!

Adidas Rod Laver Vintage Lux Joins The 2008 Sneaker Trend
May 27th, 2008 by kpriss
I wonder why all those gorgeous ladies populating the Red Carpet don’t get a look at what’s happening with the trends!
They should really try out some sneakers next time they take the Armani on show! Adidas is preparing a new release for 2008 , the sneakers year – Adidas Rod Laver Vintage Lux. With this impossible name and snakeskin upper I’d go anywhere but near it… And still, who knows – do you find it nice? Stylish?
