Christy Turlington W Magazine August 2008
July 23rd, 2008 by kpriss
I really like this girl! In her 40s and still going strong. It was a fine generation of models. Beauties who knew how to stay away from all that substance abuse madness and away from the heavy spotlight that could ruin anyone’s life.
Christy was one of my favorites and this pictures show just about why. She’s in great shape and her face is beyond photo friendly. At first I didn’t like this pictorial but the more I look at it I find it surprising and strong (not to mention the incredible spoil to see those Prada shoes at work!). Is it me or Christy looks tragic in these photos (click thumbnails to see larger images)
Shirley Maclaine Chakra Sky Jewelry Collection
July 23rd, 2008 by kpriss
Coco Chanel is one endless inspiration spree. The latest getting the Coco flow is Shirley MacLaine who played the Fashion Mademoiselle in a TV movie.
She created a jewelry line called Chakra Sky Jewelry. I may be somehow ignorant but I think calling a piece of jewelry “Spirit Steering”, “Safe Landing” or “Swirl to God” is way too much. It’s like a secret sorority stuff, all those metaphysical stories and silver sterling mysticism (not to mention the rings look pretty strange! With those nails-looking-like-gems). How does this jewelry collection looks like to you? (and those names, ring any heaven bells?)

Jennifer Connelly Goes Revlon
July 23rd, 2008 by kpriss
Jennifer Connelly doesn’t stop after the Ghesquiere story. After being the face for Balenciaga spring summer 2008 campaign, she’s leaving the fashion world for the beauty case.
Revlon contracted her for the makeup collection. She reached that point in her life and career where she’s considered an accomplished wife and mother, aside from being an intelligent gifted woman and actress. I for one think she has a strange beauty and not your average looking actress. Going to Revlon from Balenciaga can be considered a step further?

Kidrobot By Tarina Tarantino
July 23rd, 2008 by kpriss
After Hello Kitty, Tarina Tarantino is going Kidrobot. The new collection looks fresh and playful and everybit Tarina.
After a successful handbag collection, kidrobot shows that toys go further than children’s playroom. Swarovski crystals, beads, pearls, silk ribbons all go round the Tarantino effect on kidrobot. To be honest I like this collaboration more than the Hello Kitty one. Of course I can’t help smiling when I look at some angry mean looking bunnies with a cigarette, but I would’ve preferred skipping the smoking-fun-factor(you can see the photo after the jump). I see no game there… How about you? What’s your heart telling you about this Kidrobot Tarantino affair?
Versace Clock Tower New York
July 22nd, 2008 by kpriss
Versace is going for the billion building on Madison Avenue. The Clock Tower building was bought last year in a $200 million deal and now is in high renovation said to be worth $110 (just for the fun of it – what would anyone do in a 10,700 square feet penthouse announced for the renovated tower?).
However, the built complex is estimated around $1 billion. And when I say complex, I also involve the Versace work. 55 apartments and a spa plus an exclusive club designed by Donatella herself. I wonder if they’ll consider a radical change of the Clock from the tower – at least 1 day/year replace the actual clock with the medusa head logo of the Versace maison… Wouldn’t it be a good idea?

Nymphenburg Commedia Dell’Arte 2008 Couture Edition
July 22nd, 2008 by kpriss
16 fashion designers are dressing up the Commedia Dell’Arte figurines (originally costumed by Franz Anton Bustelli in 1760).
The 16 designs issued in a limited edition of 25 celebrate Nymphenburg’s 260th anniversary represent eight pairs of characters from the Commedia Dell’Arte, an improvised comedy from the 16th century. There will also be a collector’s book joining the figurines with more than 1000 photos and an essay signed by a very famous art critic (Dr. Ronald Jones) decrypting the cultural and aesthetic significance behind this Commedia Dell’Arte 2008 Couture Edition. World’s Most Expensive iPhone
July 22nd, 2008 by kpriss
When I wrote about the engraved iPhone, I really thought it was a peak of personalizing your phone. I was obviously wrong.
Personalizing your phone in the Richie Rich vision means lots and lots of little diamonds sparkling round your apple phone. Which was rather predictable. But first you’ve got to put your hands on the latest iPhone – and that could be a nasty tricky thing. Because there are 5 hours long waiting lines for some stores (the Cube from Fifth Avenue par exemple). So this Amosu Ultimo Diamond priced at $177,300 really is a piece of work. More impressive than a 5hours lineup. Ugly, unpractical but blingy all the way. Just wondering – have you ever touched a gems studded object (not only a telephone, but in this range)? How does it feel?

Victoria Bekham Is Like A Posh Without High Heels
July 21st, 2008 by kpriss
The world is about to rotate less – Victoria Beckham is not wearing high heels! After the shock of seeing her smile, this comes as another earthquake. How far can she go without switching earth poles?
Joke aside – the woman looks adorably normal! And she has impeccable flops taste – I have a striking similar pair myself! What do you say? Isn’t she lovely? (I do have a tiny problem with how she’s drinking from that bottle, but I guess everyone’s entitled to drink their own way through life)
