Elle May 2013 Covers: US Adele Vs UK Kate Hudson
April 12th, 2013 by kpriss
You gotta love the simple pleasures of the fashion editorial life: sitting back in a chair and filing through fashion media, stylish topics and then bam! something hits you: did you notice that this month’s Elle UK has an American entertainer on the cover? And that, at the same time, Elle US has a British entertainer on the cover? Yep. It’s how it works between these two Elle editions: they snag each-other their cover stars!
I’m having a hard time picking the better Elle for May 2013, so I’ll just ask you: in the left corner, we have UK’s most prodigious songbird at the moment, Adele. In the right corner, we have US’…. umm we have Kate Hudson. (I’m sorry but other than being the ‘daughter of’ and ‘fiancee of’, I can’t find something all that relevant to say about Kate Hudson momentarily. She used to be a great romcom star, except she didn’t star in any movies for a while now. And no, Glee doesn’t count.)
3 Summer Must Wear Swimsuits
April 12th, 2013 by kpriss
With Coachella on a roll, I keep my eyes peeled for double duty items ready to hit the Festival Season wardrobe and make a fabulously fashionable festival-goer out of you!
But this is a fabulous find for all summer long, not just for this weekend’s Coachella fun: the completely reversible swimsuit from D&G is a key piece for your fashionable beach summer self. Also: it saves you luggage space so you’ll have more space in your beach holiday travel bag. I know it’s not an easy buy as it comes with a $819 price tag, but other options are also available, just as couture-ish as this one! Hit the jump to find out which:
Prada Promotes Careless Chic In Pre Fall 2013 Campaign
April 11th, 2013 by kpriss
Now since I unleashed the advertorial talk, I should get to it fully, embracing the newly released images from yet another fashion campaign: Prada Pre-Fall 2013. Makes sense, right? Talking about Fall when it’s Spring outside! Nature is soooo last season!
Steven Meisel photographed Irene Hiemstra, Amanda Murphy and Vanessa Axente clutching onto beautiful, simple Prada bags and looking worse for wear, with their hair undone and their clothes unbuttoned. Amid all that strictness following the arrival of Fall fashion, the straight lines and exact patterns of the gingham print, disheveled looks just right.
It breaks the sane pattern. Let’s all lose it in the name of fashion! Yeah, baby!
Cara Delevingne’s Home Bedroom
April 11th, 2013 by kpriss
Something about being one of the most sought-after models of the moment fits right in Cara Delevingne’s bedroom. Where not even a toothpick would fit! But then again, Cara is a model. Waif thin and pretty restless. She’s barely touching ground with all her antics and jumping and making faces and all and when she does touch ground, her imprint is considerably smaller than a toothpick’s.
And to think that only hours ago, I was complaining about Elle MacPherson’s house? Silly me! I stand corrected, fully: Cara Delevingne’s home is nothing I’ve ever imagined: its more. So much more! On every level, in every way, in every direction! I wonder if one room looks like this, how are the rooms of her famous flatmates?
(Cara is reportedly sharing home with her sister, Poppy Delevingne, Georgia May Jagger and Suki Waterhouse. The Highest Model Society.)
Tiffany Overphotoshops Models For 2013 Ad Campaign
April 11th, 2013 by kpriss
Although I realize the focus should be on the accessories and not on the models, Tiffany&Co 2013 Ad Campaign has me all kinds of puzzled. I’m not used to not recognizing some of the most known and appreciated faces in fashion modeling, and I’m certainly not used to not observing the jewelry in a jewelry ad campaign!
Photographed by Michael Thompson, styled by Paul Cavaco with hair by Serge Normant and makeup by Gucci Westman, the three girls whose photographs have surfaced so far do hint strongly at the Great Gatsby adventure Tiffany has embarked in. Arizona Muse, however, is styled/retouched beyond recognition and Liu Wen’s jewelry are second base to say the least.

Elle MacPherson’s Home In Cotswolds
April 10th, 2013 by kpriss
The legendary English residential area of Cotswolds has so many celebrities on square feet that I think a regular sidewalk can easily turn into a Red Carpet walk any day! The latest famous resident (weekender, more like permanent resident) of the rural Cotswolds is none the other but The Body, Elle MacPherson!
The iconic model owns a lakeside residence which looks hardly like a rural retreat, but more like the average Miami modern home. But a house must match its owner and the free spirited Elle MacPherson surely treasures her water connection more than the traditional rural aesthetic.
Harper’s Bazaar Australia got inside The Body’s weekend retreat and labeled it with a ‘Bucolic Bliss’ attribute. Hit the jump to see if the name fits the place!
Red Hair Is The New Must Wear Hair Color!
April 10th, 2013 by kpriss
Something strange is happening in Hollywood’s hair salons. Hair stylists and their famous clients started adopting a certain shade of red hair I keep seeing on and on and I thought it’s about time we acknowledge a new hair trend.
As it turns out, when I started searching for the proper visual material to support my red theory, I wasn’t the only one noticing how our beloved leading ladies turn red, one hair at the time. People’s auburn observation includes Dianna Agron, the ever lovely Rachel McAdams and Michael Bay’s on-off leading crush, Megan Fox (she’s starring in the director’s upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles remake – it seems her Transformers feud ended and he wants her back in his movies. Too bad for Rosie!).
So what say you? Turning red for summer? (would look great with tanned skin and sunkissed freckles!)
Spring Wardrobe Tips From Michelle Obama
April 9th, 2013 by kpriss
The Flotus is always a delight and this time makes no exception from the loving rule as Michelle Obama is sharing her Spring Wardrobe tips. Anyone with an ear for style and fashion would be interested!
Come Spring, Michelle Obama can’t wait for the skirt wearing days. Just like us. Flats and skirts, comfort is the key. You always have to keep it comfortable if you want to feel good and act in your full capacities. Otherwise, you’d just be busy inside with faking comfort and well being! That’s a no-go! You should always look for that one style, that fashion instance in which you’d feel good and at ease with yourself, your shoes, your clothes. Then, and only then, you would wear the clothes and not the other way around! (hit the jump to read the rest and watch the interview!)
