I’m sooo getting my gossip fix with this! Leighton Meester’s sequined mini dress for the 2009 edition of MTV’s Video Music Awards had me all neutral. Then I lowered my eyes and saw the..ummm..shoes?
I’m not afraid to admit I like some freaky outfit combos from time to time, but Leighton is a Fashion Disaster Regular! Taking chances with a dress and pairing it with bold shoes is a fashion statement. What Leighton Meester showed us on MTV’s VMAs Red Carpet was a fashion misstep. As I was given to understand, Katie’s table cover scarf is a go. It’s likable. Katie might have got word to keep it because here she goes again, wearing her new it scarf of the season – blue tartan-ish, table cover-ish, risqué-ish.
But wearing those pants has to be written in some no-go style code. No matter the circumstances.
I could even close my eyes to sweatpants, regular tracksuits, but no, Katie Holmes wants to be different. Well, different isn’t always good, Katie, you should learn that! Let’s vote, once again, for Katie Holmes questionable pants-style, right after the picture! (photos via)

Just when I’m having a plaid overload and I say to myself Burberry must really be in trouble for the next season, something else pops and makes me fall all over in love with good ol’ Burberry!
Their Spring Summer 2009 Ad Campaign really looks beautiful and I like those clothes so much, I don’t understand how I haven’t seen it coming! I already bought a pair of those skinny-flared dark denim jeans and I concluded nobody can make me wear another cut of jeans, they simply look the best (especially on me! So thank you, my adored husband for buying them for me! Oh, yes, he found them and said “look, here’s a jean that was made for you!” and right he was!). I love a good cut trench so that increases the likeness factor too! Not to mention the gardener bag… Simply beautiful! So, how’s the upcoming Burberry season to you? It may be a fashion-less cover, but it surely is a beautiful one. I couldn’t have kept it just for me, so here’s Drew Barrymore featured in POP magazine.
It’s Pop’s 20th anniversary Animals Issue, the autumn issue. I wish I could’ve shown you all the pictures from this Drew photo shoot but, sadly, there were cigarettes in. And I don’t see “the Cancer stick” as a fashion accessory, or anything chic. So I kept all others. The tartan-and-rabbits soup and the high school cheerleader sets. It may be a cliché, but it works every time – something about those white lapins makes the picture warm and alive, doesn’t it? (photos via tfs)

I was reading something very interesting the other day – an overwhelming percentage of people look up to celebrity style. Meaning if the Hollywood walk of fame wears a polka dot dress with tartan above the knee boots (it’s just an example, but it goes that far!) the unusual combination will instantly become a smashing hit and everyone’s wardrobe (and his dog’s) will be upgraded to the new celebrity-polka-dot-tartan.1.1.
It’s like the celebrity outfit software being installed in the world’s wardrobe. Well, let’s fuel them dressings!
Katie Holmes changed her up until now hauntingly ugly bag obsession with a slick, beautiful one. Black still, but beautiful! Roger Vivier Mikado Flat Bag is Katie’s new arm darling. You can buy the same one for $2,275 or a smaller version for $1,325. This Mikado Flat Bag in black python is from the designer’s fall-winter 2008 2009 collection. I haven’t seen her (from the latest candids) matching it with her Roger Vivier shoes, but she surely made an obsession out of Roger Vivier. Because tartan is so in this season, you must pass the trend to your beloved pet! Cat Prin: The Tailor of a Cat is a Japanese web-store allowing you to dress up your favorite feline pet with the most adorable tartan accessories! Not to mention you’d be dressing them up for Halloween if you want to! They also sell frog transformation sets, prince and princesses coats and crowns.
Even if it sounds strange, some do love their pet all dressed up. I find it rather strange to make animals wear human-like clothes. I know they don’t really have something to say in the matter but still.. If you know someone who dressed up their pet, ask them if they were willing to spend few hours in a frog suit (nothing do to with the frog, but we’ve seen cat suits around, and they’re quite fashionable lately!)!
