Naomi Campbell’s Fashion For Relief 2009

Naomi Campbell can be surprising at times. Fighting with her violent and questionable temper, she doesn’t forget the noble causes she represents.

Fashion for Relief brought together many big names and pretty faces for a good cause. The catwalk was taken by the celebs walking down their frocks for the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood. Dame Vivienne Westwood herself graced the audience wearing her own design and smiling all catwalk long. While rumors about Naomi’s retirement and courting motherhood spread more and more, she walked down the runway alongside young Chanel Iman.

They both had the same dress, Naomi in black and Chanel in white, signed Azzedine Allaia. Naomi, nervous as a first runner opened the show with an impressive Zac Posen green dress (which raised $50,000 in the auction) changing into an YSL (familiar to everyone from the YSL Ad Campaign or the photo shoot from I-D Magazine).

The Fashion for Relief was a smashing success and hopefully, it will raise not only funds but also awareness for the world’s charity causes. After the jump you can see the images I selected (a kind of my best of). Between them, it’s Skin (the voice of Skunk Anansie) with a gorgeous pair of high red suede boots (and in another picture she wears a breathtaking necklace). Have to say I absolutely love them! Which one’s your favorite?

Midweek Blogaround – Project Getaway

Because the internet in its vastitude has so many style aspects and so many fashion escapees, I decided it was about time I got you some blogosphere random reading. Randomly handpicked and thoroughly verified, these are the midweek’s titles that should steal your attention for several minutes.

Dolce and Gabbana Fall Winter 2008 2009 Ad Campaign

Let’s not waste any more time and get down to the blogosphere blogaround:
If you’re thinking about a getaway (I know, the long weekend is gone, but never know!), do give it a stylish thought with Bonnie and Clyde.
…or maybe you should consider some very special swimsuits?

And if you’re not on the run nor on the swim projects, you’d better be aware to not combine all the tartan there is just to get a D & G fall overlook!
If your clothes suddenly are too big for you, there’s always a solution for a stylish wear.
Either way, don’t forget to bring your comfy shoes, comfort doesn’t always equals ugly or styleless!
Add a pinch of fabulous fall beauty for this perfect getaway with this season’s latest trick: goth makeup.

If none of the above is interesting enough for you, maybe a sip of tea in Tokyo sounds more appealing!
And just to round it all up with a question – would the nineties invade the sidewalks just like they did the ad campaigns?
