Oh, what a treat! My favorite two models of the moment together in an ad campaign! For H & M! They surely know how to play their marketing cards at Hennes and Mauritz! Smart and flawless, take a look at the few images emerged from the H & M Fall Winter 2011 2012 Ad Campaign with Freja Beha Erichsen and Anja Rubik!
You know the drill, camel coats, earth tones, tartan prints, loose dresses and turtlenecks. That the classics, put them on smiling Freja or Anja and it all looks new and fresh again! Lo-ving! Don’t you? (via)
2011 marks an anniversary I wish we would never had (at least not so early): 1 year has passed since Alexander McQueen’s death. Consequently, events have been rolled to commemorate the designer and his amazing sartorial work.
One of the most important celebrations is graced by the Metropolitan Museum of Art through the Costume Institute Exhibition: Alexander Mcqueen – Savage Beauty. Traditionally, every year, a Met Gala occurs, to mark the debut of the said exhibition. Every name and major personality in fashion is there on the big Met Ball night. And this is my view on the Met Gala 2011. (click through to discover the rest)
There’s this fringe fashion thing going these days. Roman sandals, greek-ish shoes, summer Indian boots. That’s what I came up with in just few moments, I’m sure you’ll come up with more!
However, I was hardly expecting to see fringed sneakers! Natural progression, you say? I say it’s quite a fussy sneaker if you take it out and it suddenly rains and pours on you. Otherwise, these wool tartan sneakers with leather fringes from Trussardi’s fall winter 2010 2011 collection look just great. For a $569,88 pair of sneakers, that is. Or how they like to put it “a good compromise”. Would you make this particular fringey compromise?
Now if you ask me that question, I’ll just pop-up, impolitely and quite aggressively saying “No lipstick whatsoever for my man!”. But I’m not the only voice that should be raised to answer this question, so I’m looking forward to hearing your opinion!
Men and lipstick just don’t make good home in my view. My vision of a man is seriously similar to one you get a glimpse at in those old Marlboro Country ads. Rough. Worked, working hard. Man-ish. Times have changed and the metro man now is just another way to describe the effeminate man. Lipstick? What’s next? Borrowing those pink silk lady shavers? (I know it’s delicately put, I know it’s dangerously close to the edge – but I’m carefully trying not to touch the gay-section of men here. I’m just talking straight men wearing lipstick. Are there any out there?) (photos via)
I’ve repeatedly made no secret of my love for wellies. Sure, I got me a black noname pair to carelessly walk in the mud, however, I still dream about a pair of black Hunters to frame and stare at – I wouldn’t dare stuff my Hunters in the mud, that’d be inappropriate for something I dreamed of for so long.
However, I think that even Hunter can benefit from this new “invention”: the Orange Power Wellies. Using clean and renewable energy to create electricity to charge your beloved mobile devices is something quite noteworthy. The unique soles are the very mechanism creating the necessary electricity: thermoelectric modules, interconnected are sandwiched between two ceramic wafers. The heat from the foot applied on one side and the cold from the ground on the other side, electricity is instantly generated. I don’t know much about physics, but I know this much: the mobile phone charging wellies can be an interesting addition for the festivals season… Would you use them? (via)
Putting together Burberry and rainy days makes just as much sense as associating Burberry with the tartan print. Thus, Burberry’s April Showers collection is as natural as the actual April Showers.
Colorful, waterproof (said to be), young and appealing, Burberry’s April Showers Collection is comprised of polo tees, trenches, dresses, vests, umbrellas and bags, anything to keep you dry and happy under the pouring rain. The only thing is that you’ll have to count $200 to $800 for simple items like the umbrella or the large tote. Too bad for Burberry if you ask me! I just love how my hair looks after a short rain shower! Minus the expenses! (more images and a video right after the jump!) (via)
Remember that strange manga outfit on Kirsten Dunst a while back? And remember we said it was for some kind of shooting? Well, it turns out if was for a music video!
With Takashi Murakami, Kirsten’s “Akihabara Majokko Princess” video is actually sung by her! This is meant as an art project for the Tate Museum in LondonPop Life: Art in a Material World. Commissioned to Charlie’s Angels director, McG, the video story is a colorful, lifefull Lost in Translation vision. (hit the jump for more demystification)
Take this blue customMonique Lhuillier dress for example (she seems to have a weakness for Monique Lhuillier dresses)! It’s a flawless dress, if you take that second skirt off, the floor length bustier dress would be simply stunning. Instead of adding a spark of originality and a moment of breathless style, that short second skirt breaks Drew’s silhouette. Not in a good way. (Drew Barrymore was honored by the Screen Actors Guild for Grey Gardens’ Little Edie as Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries). Did you notice her right arm tattoo? A tiny bird? Had no idea she had it! (click through to see more images or go directly to the gallery here!) (photos via)
