I’ve been doing this since before I married my Adored Husband. And, just like this lovely couple whose story I recently read and who’s been playing the matching dressing game for a loooong, long time, I never felt it was a problem. It’s about a feeling of closeness and togetherness.

Fully aware of the mother-child coordinated outfits fashion (more like ‘out-of-fashion’), I raised this issue hoping to get more feedback from you. It goes significantly against the trends but substantially builds a personal style. Which would you prefer? I go for the latter as our style is an ever-evolving sum of experiences and circumstances applied yet again to an extremely varied portfolio of events and personalities.

I prefer having a distinct personal style than being fashionable. Especially in our consumerism society when anyone can buy and wear anything regardless of oh-so-many good-taste criteria (leggings and/or skinny jeans are simply not suitable for every body type, in spite of how obtuse you think I’m being by saying this out loud)!

But I digress, making this too much about myself and what I like instead of telling you the lovely story of this lovely couple who’s been lovely match-dressing for over 35 years! Nancy and Donald Featherstone have developed a twin wardrobe that would make even the most ferocious fashionista blush with envy! Coordinated tops and bottoms filling four wardrobes carefully stacked two by two and suitable for any and all occasions!

By now, every fashion-individual and their respective dogs has seen the pictures, drooled over the dresses and rolled all the Red Carpet of their vivid fashion imagination trying to replicate and emulate the Met Gala’s main highlights.

I wanted to add the final point to this outstanding fashion extravaganza but I wanted you to weigh in as well, crowning my side of the story with your perspective. Because you’re worth it (wink) and because I love discussing fashion with you and Red Carpet gossip is my favorite kind of gossip. Now: about last night! Remember earlier when I said something about already picking out my favorite celebrity walking the Red Carpet tonight? Well here she is, in all her punk splendor: Sarah Jessica Parker!

Surprised? I know it’s fairly unusual for me to praise SJP’s style as I used to be tired of the overhype surrounding her persona, but she manages to make some spectacular fashion choices, especially for official events like this 2013 Met Gala!

Sarah Jessica Parker Giles dress was busy enough to call it anarchic but the real show stopper was biensur the Mohawk head piece as designed by Philip Treacy!

Remember when Harper was born, proud daddy David Beckham had his soccer shoes printed with her name, not just her siblings’ names? And not just that, but his soccer shoes were actually pink?

After three boys, David Beckham and his wife, Victoria, were finally blessed with a little girl. The joy! As a mother, I can absolutely relate to that as I know how it felt, having our little girl after two boys! And I can still remember how we were, both me and the proud daddy when the doctor let us know it was a girl! We barely touched ground!

There was a time when I was genuinely worried because I kept seeing little Suri Cruise wearing frilly summer dressed even when it was seriously chilly outside. Those days are long gone as little Suri was just seen out and about with her mom, Katie Holmes, in New York wearing a knee – long quilted winter jacket!

I never thought I’d see this day! Wait, there’s more: she was also wearing a tartan pink winter scarf, pink pants (yes, Suri is wearing pants these days!) and fur lined boots with pink soles! I’m really amazed and happy for the little one!

I think it’s safe to say that this was my favorite Fashion Week show so far. Michael Kors Fall Winter 2012 2013 had everything running: belts, leather, wool, fur, tartan, the right colors and the good cuts that’ll turn this collection into a sellout! Wearable, bourgeois, resort – appropriate and youthful! Victoria Beckham was rightfully wearing tartan the other day – belt your tartan, ladies, and you’re in the hip crowd next fall! Well, take that and re – tailor it for sixties rock’n’roll groupies and you’ve got a pretty clear vision of Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B.’s Fall Winter 2012 2013 collection.
