Hosiery Trends For Fall Winter 2008 2009

As you may have noticed, the leggings are here to stay! From a serious distance, however, tights are approaching in full speed and full power!

In case you had no idea what to buy and how to wear/match, I got out in the internet’s fishing pond and came back with a handful of trendy tights for your eyes delight and your wardrobe update. I’ll make this funnier, in a form of a questionnaire with answers, all after the jump, exemplified with photos!

Alberta Ferretti Anna Sui opaque tights

1. Are my opaque tights still in this fall/winter 08-09?
Yes they are! The only thing new is they receive a touch of sheer. Sheer, glossy, shiny black tights are the new it of this fall’s hosiery drawer. (Anna Sui, Alberta Ferretti)

John Galliano Emilio Pucci colored tights

2. Can I still wear my favorite colored tights this fall/winter 08-09?
Yes you can! The brighter the trendier! It’s a must! You can also wear sheer colored tights! (Emilio Pucci, John Galliano)

Chanel D and G pattern printed tights

3. I heard patterns were in order this fall/winter 08-09. Do I have to have patterned tights?
If you want to make the unforgivable card you must have patterned tights! (D&G, Chanel). You can also wear sequined tights or animal printed tights! (Just Cavalli, Jaeger London)

4. Can I still wear my gray tights this fall/winter 08-09?
Yes you can, but you can also update your tights stock with a little trendy color – burgundy and chocolate brown. (Bottega Veneta, Celine)

5. What about fishnets?
Definitely! Fishnet and lace are one of the most prized look on catwalk this fall winter. Remember Rodarte and DSquared2!

No matter the trend you’ll choose, wear it with confidence! Even if it’s not a top 5 trend, you’ll make it so by looking powerfully confident! I think I’ll go get myself some tartan tights, some burgundy and some Rodarte like fishnets. Oh! And absolutely something glossy! What about you? (via, photos via style.com)

I love tights! Always have!
They are a great and fun way to add a splash of pizazaz to your outfit! I have lots of different colours too! :)

Mmm, tights are one of my favorite accessories for fall. I think I’m going to get some gray ones and maybe a lace patterned pair this fall. Thanks for the pics!

I remembered, when writing this article, that I had bought a white pair last year. Haven’t worn it too much because even if my constitution is thin, white wool tights have a strange way of unflattering that. So I dug’em up and now I wonder what could I match with my white wool tights I looove so much! (last year matched them with beige suede high heel studded boots and a summery floral print purple dress). So if you have any ideas, I would be more than happy to try and let you know if it worked!
