Top 10 Jewelry Brands
February 19th, 2008 by kpriss
When it comes to information, accuracy is vital. This is the main reason why I thought you should know that a top of most luxurious jewelry brands has been made.
The Luxury Institute conducted a research among 500 subjects with net worths averaging $15.1 million inquiring them on just few important aspects for each name of the 20 listed for the purpose.
Superior quality, uniqueness and exclusivity, social status, customer service. Now let’s take a look at the result:

Jennifer Lopez Twins First Paycheck – $6 Million!
February 18th, 2008 by kpriss
Flash news: Talking about J.Lo’s pregnancy is like talking about the worst kept secret lately. Everyone knew, everyone saw it, still no one talked about it.
Well, for some time now things have changed, we love chatting about Jennifer’s baby-bump, her due date, her choices for delivery (as, for example her hospital reserve awaiting the so special birth for two weeks already). How about the twins now? We heard rumors about the names, about them being a boy and a girl. Now the big splash – their first paycheck!
People magazine denied the $6 Million deal. But we all remember the first pictures of Shiloh Jolie-Pitt. Well, those pictures were sold for $4 Million (and don’t worry, the magazine didn’t declared bankruptcy right after! On the contrary – the sales gained 45% that week – about $3 Million).
It’s true that Suri Cruise earned no money for posing in Vanity Fair, still the sales went up with 60% for that number.
Now if Shiloh’s pictures meant $4 Millions, her rumored twin brothers (or sisters. Or whatever) on the way will end up gaining what? $10 Millions?
Isn’t that going too far? After all, it’s our money that’s paying the pictures! Each magazine with their photos means adding up to that monstrous paycheck. Do you look at these numbers as normal? Or do you see them part of a media madness that’s got to end?
UPDATE:
What’s the charm when talking about rumors? They prove to be true sooner or later!
Three weeks old, millionaires, that’s one big moneymaking family! Max and Emme, the Lopez-Anthony twins have got their People cover. Of course, the magazine issued a statement saying that the pictures cost $3 Millions (they don’t say if it’s for one kid only, so, the common logic sense tells us that for two kids you have to add another $3 Millions) and even so it’s a record.
We’ll wait and see if the Jolie-Pitts can score higher!
Now they’re at the same game since they’ve reportedly found out the baby-bump it’s a bab-IES-bump (yes, yes, a boy and a girl!). So not too much before we find out who the highest bidder is (since they know that it’s a boy and girl, she must be like 5-6 months along).
I also posted the film they graciously give about the making of the photo shoot and how things look like in the Lopez-Anthony crowded house.
So? $3 Million? $6 Million? Or who cares?
Don’t forget to vote after the clip!

Lindsay Lohan as Marilyn Monroe for The Last Sitting
February 18th, 2008 by kpriss
Marilyn is the Myth. Recreating her or following her footsteps (in some ways) will always be hard or impossible.
Bert Stern has taken up a challenge – recreating Marilyn’s “Last Sitting” photographs taken while she was drunk and almost asleep (not to mention naked) at the Hotel Bel-Air. This last photo shoot was taken six weeks before Marilyn’s death (or an apparent barbiturate overdose) and is showing more of the 36years-old woman behind the pin up.

Louis Vuitton USB Key
February 18th, 2008 by kpriss
If you’d ask me how I put up with all that let it bling over me, I’d say it’s just entertainment. Some people like watching stand up comedy, I like watching the latest most-bling-iest products issued.
Of course I have nothing against stand up comedy, au contraire! But looking at all these new sparkling things invading the market just keeps my eyebrows raised. Now it’s the LV USB key.

Models Before and After Part 2
February 17th, 2008 by kpriss
This is the second part of the series Models: Before and after. In the first one I was just wondering how many people, how many times felt envy or felt disapproval when talking about models and the way they rule their life.
Since I said it was meant to be a series, here’s for today’s episode Doutzen Kroes at 10.28am and the same Doutzen wearing nothing more than L’Oréal True Match Foundation in natural ivory with Endless Kissable Lipstick in lover’s coral for 11.04am.
My Top 5 Belts for Spring Summer 2008
February 17th, 2008 by kpriss
Ever since I understood the meaning and importance of accessories, I fell in love with belts. Maybe one day I’ll gather them all together and share pictures of my collection with you.
Until then, I thought of a personal top with belts from the spring-summer 2008 catwalk (you know, I’m the kind of fashion-follower that keeps up with the actual season, not the season to come. It’s my sense of reality that flips when having to deal with winter coats while I’m still wearing flip flops or vice-versa).
Now, few words about the belts – of course, you can look at the picture hereby and think about another way to rearrange the belts according to your own tastes, but me, I chose the Black Gucci Belt to be my number one.
The second one (or ones) comes from Jean-Paul Gaultier and I admit, they make more sense when you look at the collection, being something cut out from the Pirates of Caribbean, the third is Elie Saab, on fourth comes DKNY and last Fendi.
Why I put Elie Saab on third? Because it’s not very practical and not so wearable. However, the belt looks lovely and it would work wonders on a dress or with an ample top. The same goes for the bi-colored DKNY (I dream about this belt with wide-leg pants…). As for the Fendi, stones aside, it really looks ordinary (at least to me) and that’s why it came in last. I liked the way the stones bring something special and 80s reminder to the outfit.
What about you? Do you have a crush on belts? Or don’t see them that necessary?
Vivienne Westwood Red Label Political Statement
February 16th, 2008 by kpriss
Flashnews – The return of Vivienne Westwood to London Fashion Week was most appreciated and thus most talked about.
This season’s Westwood traditional political involvement was all about Guantanamo Bay. Different sources, different points of view and because I wasn’t there to tell you the story as seen with my own eyes, I’m just telling stories. Both of them.
The style.com version is about the very beginning of the fashion show and it’s all in this picture. The NY Times version is about
“a topless model wearing orange Agent Provocateur undies with “Fair Trial My Arse” emblazoned across the tush! (The company was founded by her son, Joe Corre.)”
Vivienne’s comeback was also marked by the Opus Portraits book. The much awaited launch we talked about early on was a smashing hit. So many people came to see the Madame and to attend the hipe party, the Serpentine Gallery was too small for everyone to fit.
Well then.. better forget the political lingerie, I’ll put my hopes on event organizers that can really evaluate the space/participants report for VW.

Nina Ricci Spring-Summer 2008 Ad Campaign
February 16th, 2008 by kpriss
Nina Ricci’s ad prints for Spring Summer 2008 are finally out. Featuring Karlie Kloss and Courtney Smerski wearing some shredded colorful outfits in a splashy background.
Mario Sorrenti was behind the camera which explains the apparent grunge look. I can’t feel too comfortable looking at these pictures, there’s a weird feeling of discomposure coming from.
What do you make of this new-age glamour from Nina Ricci‘s campaign? Should I be worried for I have no taste in this damage-goods-trend? Or it’s just going to pass being just a photography license?
