The Sartorialist’s DKNY Jeans Spring Summer 2009 Ads
January 7th, 2009 by kpriss
You may remember a Photoshop teaser I made a while back regarding this new Spring Summer ad campaign for DKNY Jeans shot by the Sartorialist.
Now the real photos have surfaced and, I must say, I may as well stick to my photoshop! Because the real thing looks just as awful as a paste-in, imposed photo on a strange background. Scott Schuman did what he only knew best – photographing people in the street. Only this time, the expectations from an actual ad campaign are higher than those of the average street-style-blog-consumer. Not to mention the incredible amateur border! I could see those pictures working wonders for one of those catalog selling businesses (or simply for the original street style blog) but I can’t see this kind of official marketing selling actual fashion. Do you? (photos via tfs)
Questionable Frills And Feathers – Courtney Love
January 7th, 2009 by kpriss
Being a style pioneer requires a lot more than just courage. Because even if she shows a brave attitude under appx 50 deg Fahrenheit (appx 10 Celsius) with something it could easily be described as a nightgown, Courtney Love makes no right-style…
…Unless she’s filming a new movie and those pictures were taken on the set… And her character is a bar-dancer in the golden fever era. The only positive observation I can make is that she’s completely coordinated. From the feathered headband to her sky blue ribbon shoes (passing through her blue-grayish nails), Courtney is a fine example of Questionable Style. What would it be, for you? Catwalk Ripped or Blind Picked? You can vote after the jump! (photos via dailymail.co.uk)

Isla Fisher Covers InStyle UK February 2009
January 7th, 2009 by kpriss
You remember I told you I love watching a romantic comedy from time to time…Well, one of my last ones was Definitely.. Maybe. Not your average romantic scenario but a good one nevertheless.
Starring, one of my favorite next-door-girls (plus a little extra, for her beautiful smile) is Isla Fisher. Who covers the February issue of InStyle UK magazine as the Rom-Com Queen. And after reading the few lines I got from the interview, my suspicions were confirmed – she is, indeed, a funny, smart person with her feet firmly set on the ground. (more after the jump)

Freshface – Leonie Schmiese
January 7th, 2009 by kpriss
Not long ago I started a new series of articles called “Freshface”. A series of candidates to model-dom. Today’s freshface is a young girl from Berlin, Germany. Leonie Schmiese is only 16 years old (born November 1996 1993), has brown hair and brown eyes.
Her 176cm/5’9”, 84/60/88cm 3 3”/2 3.5”/3 4. 5” make her a suitable candidate for a runway career. Without an important work project until now, Leonie looks to me like a younger, taller version of French actress Audrey Tautou. Is a sweet face like this one meant to walk the catwalk with success? Kate Hudson Vs Anne Hathaway, Bride Wars To Red Carpet
January 7th, 2009 by kpriss
Every now and then I enjoy a soft movie, a romantic comedy, a movie that I watch and safely breathe the no-pressure of normal, everyday bliss.
Nothing like ageing the other way (like The Curious Case…) or kidnapped kids (Changeling). Normal persons living perfectly normal (and happy lives). And every normal life comes (hopefully) to a very special celebration – the celebration of love. There’s nothing like that, no matter what you’re told, nothing can match truly loving and be loved. No career move, no material asset, no acclaimed designer or sparkling spotlight. I carried on living for a long time without wanting to hear about marriage. It didn’t mean anything to me and I surely didn’t see it coming. But it sure did! And it was the most natural thing in the world, the most wonderful, because I married the man I loved!
So every time I see a wedding, I’m kinda emotional and nostalgic but so happy in the same time! Because I imagine every bride and groom must be at least as in love as I and my adored Husband are.
Bride Wars is one of those wedding movies I can’t hardly wait because it reminds me of my wedding. Because I can cry silly tears while eating popcorn alongside my wonderful Husband and enjoy a simple plot about simple things! (more after the jump!)
Prada SS09 Ads – The Black Dance
January 7th, 2009 by kpriss
Just like the last Prada campaign, the new Spring Summer 2009 ads comes in episodes. I was somewhat surprised by the lace magnitude of the Fall Winter Collection signed Prada, but I loved their spokesface – Linda Evangelista. So I sang along their song and patiently waited for a lace-calm down.
When it finally happened, the new Prada ads were issued and even if I hoped for an improvement, all I got was a beige domino line. Now I’m graced with the black domino line. 7 models, all lined up for a photo wearing clothes that could bring the ironing industry to a sure bankruptcy but leaving me without any buying Prada desire whatsoever. Do these ads work for you? )click photo to see larger image)(photo via tfs)
Jimmy Choo Makes Hunter Boots!
January 6th, 2009 by kpriss
Don’t you just dream about the day you put on your Jimmy Choos for a glamorous moment? But what if that day arrives and you suddenly realize it’s going to be an absolute fiasco because it rains and your Jimmy Choos aren’t going to face that with a smile?
Now here’s the good news: the Hunter boots get a serious Jimmy Choo treatment! The result is a pair of glamwellies, embossed with crocodile motif and lined with leopard print. If that’s music for your fashionista ears, then start saving up because the Jimmy Choo Hunters will be available starting June and their price tag is rather heavy – $395! But that’s the price you gotta pay if you want to wear the same boots as Angelina Jolie or Kate Moss plus the Jimmy Choo treatment! (via racked, photos via movies.yahoo.com, instyle.com)
Floral Spree With Nike Liberty Blazer
January 6th, 2009 by kpriss
I must be stuck on sneakers… Today’s sneaker is a Nike, high top, as floral as can be! Nike Dunk, the Converse by Nike is a highly coveted shoe. You can find it in the basketball court, on a graffiti skate, biking in a rush. Now Nike has teamed up with Liberty for a floral printed beauty with a Swoosh on.
I’m not a sneakers girl, but I don’t deny I have my converse days, just like anyone else. There’s something about wearing a comfy shoe and velour track pants with a huge scarf that makes me forget a bad weather day… Do you think floral sport shoes attract more women (customers) than the classic sport shoes?
