Not long ago I started a new series of articles called “Freshface”. A series of candidates to model-dom. Today’s freshface is a young girl from Berlin, Germany. Leonie Schmiese is only 16 years old (born November 1996 1993), has brown hair and brown eyes.
Her 176cm/5’9”, 84/60/88cm 3 3”/2 3.5”/3 4. 5” make her a suitable candidate for a runway career. Without an important work project until now, Leonie looks to me like a younger, taller version of French actress Audrey Tautou. Is a sweet face like this one meant to walk the catwalk with success? I’m very pleased Inez and Vinoodh decided they do not want to work any longer with models younger than 18. I applaud to that.
This girl is very cute looking. But please, let this sweet face enjoy her youth some more years……

I agree with what Adriana stated.
It would be nice if they would not use models who are not so young and who are not still growing physically, mentally and emotionally.But alas they will as a character on Absolutely Fabulous stated “soon they’ll be chucking fetyses down the catwalk.”
All that aside she is a very pretty girl.
I don’t see what the problem is. If she has said OK to doing the photoshoot and is happy about it I think its fine! If she wants to do it at 16 I don’t know why anyone should stop her, she is old enough to make her own decisions surely. No younger than 16 I would say, but 16 itself is old enough.
If she was born in 1996, there’s no way she can be 16 years old now.
May be there’s a mistake, this it’s really hard to believe that she is thirteen-years-old=)

I think it is irresponsible to steal young people their youth. Shame on the parents and our society which allows her to work as a model at her young age…
