Karlie Kloss For Dior Spring 2012 Beauty Ad Campaign

Karlie Kloss is now riding the controversy wave due to her Vogue Italy feature (some claim that the pictures could determine women all over the world become anorexic. Or something like that.). However, Karlie Kloss’ reign on the fashion world is nowhere near its end and this Dior Spring 2012 Beauty Ad campaign confirms it once more.

Karlie is one of those beautiful and versatile young models who represent today’s fashion with extreme accuracy. She can be your next door cool neighbor, she can be your diva, she can do so many faces, embody so many acts, I believe the fashion industry is rightfully in love with her. (aren’t we?) A little controversy has never hurt a model – look at Kate Moss!

Carey Mulligan’s Elle France Cover Identical To Glamour’s Germany December Cover. Same As Vogue’s October 2010 Cover

At first, I was convinced I was seeing double. Undoubtedly one of the many consequences of running a four children household. I checked again. And again. Nop. It’s definitely not me as the unusual sighting has been reported again, for a third time.

Carey Mulligan, my dahlings, is on the cover of French Elle magazine. And on the cover of Glamour Germany December 2011. Which sounds great as Carey is one of my favorite young actresses. The only trouble is, these two above mentioned covers are identical to Vogue US October 2010 cover. I mean… identical to the point of being the very same image, photographed in 2010 by Peter Lindbergh. How did this happen, why?(click the picture for larger image)

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Blowout Vs. The Kitchen

And that is just one of the “hot” topics Gwyneth Paltrow touched with Steve Stoute during her interview for The Tanning Effect. Which I am now watching for the first time and absolutely loving!

It would appear that stiff celebrities aren’t that stiff after all – we’ve watched Angelina Jolie a while ago talking about herself and her projects and being all charming about it. Now it’s Gwyneth who stole my heart with her candid, joyful way of being. Despite of all the negativity she constantly receives be it for her looks, her singing or her web initiative.

Now about what Gwyneth said – she said her blowout is ruined the minute the kitchen heat touches the back of her neck. And, more importantly, Gwyneth talked about Vogue’s black covers and about teaching her kids to embrace a wide perspective on life, without being narrowed by race / color issues. Loved that! Go Gwyneth! Please watch the video and tell me how you felt about it. About her! (the first two parts can be found here)

“I don’t want to bemoan the fact that it should’ve happened 50 years ago, because it’s here now. And it’s like the way I see it is that I have two little kids who are understanding the world in a time when Rihanna is on the cover of Vogue, and we have a black president. So their eyes are being as if they’re experiencing the world for the first time. All of this stuff is just root — it’s normal stuff for them. And that to me is what’s so incredible.

When my daughter understood what a president was, it was a black man. It’s not like me, where I grew up with all of these old white guys one after another … Their perspective on race and everything is completely open and completely different to how it was when I was a kid.”

Dita Von Teese Travels Light. Not.

I’ve been looking at these pictures for a couple of days already and still feel my eyebrows rising high with amazement! Dita Von Teese was seen landing at the London Heathrow Airport carrying not one, not two but seven large suitcases and two large boxes. Of course there was someone helping the pretty damsel in distress with half of her heavy load.

And even so – whenever you’re packing for a trip (especially since it’s the Holidays season) and start feeling remorseful about stuffing your cases, please keep Dita von Teese’s travelling gear in mind and you’ll most certainly feel better. About yourself, about your suitcases. I’m sure you’re traveling light, no matter what you do! (whenever I promise I’ll pack strictly the basics, I end up wondering if I shouldn’t also bring my favorite pair of sandals.. and my favorite pair of boots also? And my favorite jeans shorts and my favorite evening dresses… just in case? Sounds familiar?)

Daisy. Marc Jacobs. The Video Ad Campaign

This must be one of the most sought after and worn perfumes of our young generation. My dearest cousin is completely in love with Daisy, so what I said above is a firm belief.

The video ad campaign for Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume is out. And although directed (and shot) by Juergen Teller and TJ Wilcox, the visuals aren’t as raw or difficult to digest as I would’ve expected coming from them. It’s actually a charming piece of advertising with lovely young models (Frida Gustavsson, Sophie Srej and Hannah Holman) and an adorable soundtrack (Dream a little dream of me The Mamas & The Papas – you can listen to it here)

Angelina Jolie Premieres Land Of Blood And Honey Dressed In Black

The much anticipated premiere of Angelina Jolie’s “In the Land of Blood & Honey” movie rolled its red carpet Monday night in New York City.

Angelina showed up with Brad Pitt at her side, both wearing matching outfits: Angelina in her trademark black, blouson type of dress. Which wasn’t even a dress, Angelina wearing a floor length Ralph Lauren black skirt paired with a black Joseph top. Interesting choice of accessories – the chunky Ofira necklace is an unusual sighting since Angelina keeps is minimal and very discrete, jewelry – wise. Should she throw a daring jewelry piece every now and then? Does it suit her?

Chloe Sevigny’s Season’s Fashion Disaster

Oh, dear Chloe Sevigny! (sigh) How should I put this? Just because Christmas is coming and you’re wearing red doesn’t mean you’re a joyful, pretty sight to see!

Chloe, you look just like one of those half – unpacked gifts with a sorry haircut. I wish, I really wish I could say nicer things about you – like for instance – I’m sure you’re very talented at what you do, and I’m convinced you mean no harm. But please stop styling yourself? Let some professionals take care of your look (and if this already is the case, please consider changing them. Right. Now.) (you can cast your vote right after the picture!)
