Turn Your Old Shoes Into New Fancy Shoes With Shoe Clips!
March 7th, 2012 by kpriss
I was thinking about this for a while and then I remembered I’ve seen it somewhere. Or at least I though I did, in my Inbox (ah! The goodies within!). So I spend a while trying to figure out where this little treasure was hidden and deep, underneath layers and layers of all kind of goodies – filled newsletters and interrogative emails, I found it: ban.do shoe clips!
Regardless of the brand and the occasion (you can tell that the red hearts were especially made for Valentine’s Day), the shoe clips are a wonderful accessory in any wardrobe! And you don’t have to limit yourself to hearts and bows! When it comes to accessorizing, the sky is the limit and you’re only bound by the time you have to be creative! (because I came to find out that creativity needs a lot of time! A loooot of it!) Have you seen these before? Have you thought of one of these yourself? (hit the jump for more)

Stefano Pilati’s Last: YSL Fall Winter 2012 2013 Collection
March 7th, 2012 by kpriss
All is in the rumors, in the fashion industry. And that is a fact. Stefano Pilati was rumoredly let go from Yves Saint Laurent. However, people started talking about his departure from YSL last season, so it mustn’t be a surprise for Pilati.
We shouldn’t be as naïve as to think that he wasn’t aware this was his last YSL collection and think take the elements of this fashion show as random. Yves Saint Laurent fall winter 2012 2013 collection was a strong one. Pilati was master of the YSL style and his strong declaration of fashion ownership is clear through every rough sartorial detail. Much can be interpreted and twisted with every catwalk turn, but it’s safer to let the fashion things as they are and start the guessing game – who should take the YSL throne now?
Fashion Coffee Table Book: Isabel Toledo Roots Of Style
March 6th, 2012 by kpriss
Every now and then, I dream about a new coffee table book – one that’s exuding style and fashion elegance, just like we do! (blush) Isabel Toledo’s Roots of Style book is all kinds of amazing, and not just because it talks about how Isabel came to be Isabel Toledo but also because of the artwork within.
Isabel Toledo’s Roots of Style: Weaving Together Life, Love and Fashion was illustrated by Ruben Toledo! And let me tell you, the inside preview is enchanting! (You can pre order it here). Here’s what Isabel says:
“Risk everything for what you love to do and the rest will follow.”

Guerlain’s La Petite Robe Noire Perfume Animated Ad Campaign
March 6th, 2012 by kpriss
What a beautiful campaign! I’m under its spell! Guerlain’s new perfume, “La petite robe noire” (the little black dress, in French) is promoted not by a person, be it celebrity or professional model, but by a drawing! And what a lovely drawing and what a charming animation!
The beautiful work belongs to French artists Florence Deygas and Olivier Kuntzel who twisted on the original idea and came up with a modern, tres chic and really inviting advertising for the reworked perfume from Guerlain. Reworked, yes, for this is not the first version of La Petite Robe Noire, oh no! There was another edition before this one (which will be distributed globally, unlike its less known predecessor dating from 2009). It’s a floral “Little Black Dress” with an adorable campaign! Come, come press play! (pretty interesting choice of music – Nancy Sinatra’s These Boots Are Made For Walking – it’s supposed to be about a dress, not about the boots? Just saying…)

Miranda Kerr’s Diet And How She Stays Fit
March 6th, 2012 by kpriss
You know we had this health & fitness talk a while back, when we deciphered some working out myths. Spring is happening! Minis and shorts are happening soon! Here’s how to stay fit and healthy following Miranda Kerr’s diet: detoxifying juice first thing in the morning (kate, cucumber, spinach, parsley, lemon), half an hour later a smoothie (goggi berries, noni juice, vitamineral greens, chia seeds, bee pollen, raw cacao powder, macca powder, acai powder, sun warrior protein powder. Oatmeal and eggs, four tablespoons of coconut oil / day, at least 8 glasses of water / day.
That food – wise. As for exercising, Miranda Kerr is all for yoga and Pilates. You may find it all very complicated, but Miranda has it all mapped out and she’s pledging her cause with thorough explanations – check them all out here if you’re interested! (if there’s one thing we learn from Miranda’s life regime is that every beauty has its behind the scenes story too! It’s not just a “good genes” thing or a “fast metabolism” fairytale!)

Crystallized: Chanel Fall Winter 2012 2013 Collection
March 6th, 2012 by kpriss
That’s how I feel Karl Lagerfeld is! Chanel Fall Winter 2012 2013 Collection was, although I’m sure everyone will applaud it, sterile. It was over complicated, too intricate, derelict-uous instead of glamorous.
It’s like Lagerfeld had crystallized, thus no longer permitting outside influence and fashion novelty to get in the Chanel house. This show was old. Dusted. It lacked life and sparkle. I imagine it was meant to look this way, but its appearance won’t make me praise it.
Au contraire, the severe lackluster of Chanel’s fall 2012 collection worries me: it’s becoming clearer and clearer that people keep coveting Chanel because of its label more than for its aesthetics. And that, my fashion friends, is so sad! (this was posted before the style dot com review – I’m so curious what they’ll write! I bet it’ll all be roses and smiles!)
Black (Leather) Is All We Need: Givenchy Fall 2012 Collection
March 5th, 2012 by kpriss
I really had no idea leather and fur could produce such (some wonderful) variations and combinations! Givenchy Fall Winter 2012 2013 is one of those “wow!” collections you don’t want to miss during a fashion week season.
This fall order is drama, dark drama and Riccardo Tisci can fill that drama with so much passion, you’d think he’s made out of drama. And lace. I liked what he designed for this Fall Winter 2012 2013 show and I’m certain I wasn’t the only one, Givenchy is one for the people. For the famous people. And can we blame them? I can’t, the fashion show was perfectly balanced – fame and style looked great in knee high equestrian boots.
