Fall 2013 Versace Collection: Studded, Spiked, Nailed Egdy Fashion
February 23rd, 2013 by kpriss
Now that’s something we haven’t seen in a while! Since Rodarte 2008, that is! Spikes, studs, nails, anything that stings and looks like a thorn, it was right there, on the models catwalking down the Versace Fall 2013 Collection runway! Harnesses, necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings, it was all pointy.
Everyone is trying real hard to shove a ‘vunk’ idea up our fashionable little heads, swearing that the collection is actually a mix of punk and the usual Versace spices with just a pinch of edgy. However, I still see no novelty and no real innovation in a collection that’s mostly a trying – too – hard to escape the fetish clouds although all the thorns point in that precise direction!
Prada Shoes And Bags, Fall 2013
February 22nd, 2013 by kpriss
With every Prada show, I’m excited to observe many trends that will reverberate in fashion’s muddy waters over the few months. The speed and the contagion of Miuccia Prada’s designs always leave me speechless! I can only imagine that this must be the reason why Marc Jacobs is so enamored with Miuccia: she must be a role model for him.
Yes, I realize that Marc Jacobs’ designs also set trends and gather hoards of admirers, followers and replicators, but Miuccia has a certain depth to her influence that Jacobs will never have. Like a dark mist sneaking into the designers’ minds, replacing their ideas with hers! We’ll see if that too will happen with her Prada Fall 2013 Collection as well!
Let’s focus on the main accessories proposed by Miuccia for the Fall 2013 season: sandals. Sandals?
Side Effects Music: Thievery Corporation The Forgotten People
February 22nd, 2013 by kpriss
I have to take this out of my system: ever since I watched the movie, I can’t stop thinking about it. Both the movie and the music. This music! Side Effects – have you seen it? If you haven’t please take my advice (our advice as both me and my Adored Husband feel the same about it): go see it! It’s a classic Soderbergh. A classic, captivating movie you might enjoy as well.
As you heard it before – and I cruelly reminded it in the Rooney Mara Interview piece – Side Effects was announced as Steven Soderbergh’s swan song. His last movie. Whether he’ll revise that decision, and I cross my fingers for that to happen, it remains to be seen. For now, let’s enjoy Side Effects to its full synopsis effect.
Thievery Corporation The Forgotten People was cleverly chosen for one of the key scenes of the film, I know there’s no actual video to it (except the audio – and that you can listen to after the jump), but maybe for the best – that way you can focus more on the music and not on the visuals. Oh – and if you have seen Side Effects, you can play all the key scenes in your head, maybe talk about them after the jump?
Rihanna Doing MAC Makeup Collection After River Island Collection Fail
February 22nd, 2013 by kpriss
While we briefly talked about Rihanna’s fashion designer venture debut last week, I’d like you to know I left her out intentionally. I just didn’t feel the need to discuss or comment on something that looked more like a desperate marketing try (from River Island) than an outpour of actual sartorial talent (from Rihanna). Thus, I thought, I will make it go away.
But I’m forced to get back on my decision and voice my worries because another notable collaboration has been signaled, from the same Rihanna: a makeup collection with M.A.C. Cosmetics!

Lais Ribeiro Gorgeous Tom Ford Sahara Noir Perfume Ad
February 21st, 2013 by kpriss
We talked about Tom Ford not long ago and about the colorful collection he put on display while doing the London Fashion Week. I even mentioned that he dipped his audience in perfume. Well, let’s talk about a certain Tom Ford perfume now:
Sahara Noir! It might’ve slipped my attention if it wasn’t for this wonderful ad! Lais Ribeiro fronts Tom Ford Sahara Noir Women Perfume Ad Campaign, photographed by – who else – Tom Ford himself. Hair by Orlando Pita and makeup by Charlotte Tilbury (I imagine with Tom Ford beauty products as well – that lipstick is beyond amazing!).

I’d like to present you with a special set of jewelry, today! They come all the way from sunny Portugal and they were made by a very talented object designer, Goncalo Campos who is also behind charming furniture designs.
The concept here is pretty simple: the jewelry is shape – based. 3D prints and geometric shapes and edges transformed into aesthetic decorations such as bracelets and rings. The 3D printing is a special technological process widely used in industrial design, jewelry design, architecture, engineering and so forth.
