7 Wonderful Fall Looks: J.Crew Fall 2013 Collection

More I look through the Fashion Week’s presentations, I feel lucky to find that rare gem I could actually wear, straight from the catwalk into my personal wardrobe’s comfort. Of course, this is my take on fashion: I’m always looking for wearable inspiration.

Hence, the J.Crew collections are true accessibility oasis in the middle of avant-garde catwalks. From J.Crew Fall 2013 Collection I actually retained not 5 but 7 lovely, wonderfully wearable looks for your eyes and wardrobe inspiration!

{1} the oversized blouse & floral pencil skirt: because it’s such a feminine combination and I really love the exaggerated top volume contrasting with the body hugging pencil skirt silhouette! (oh, and please do notice how she clutches onto her bag: anything familiar you might want to acknowledge into a fall 2013 trend?)

{2} the mixed prints outfit: because mixing prints on my own headache cause enough, I’d rather take already stylists – approved!

{3} the smart casual colorful look: because you always need something new for the same ol’ black pants!

{4} the comfy casual feminine look: because you need something comfy to wear for late movie nights!

{5} the blue print dress & gloves: because I love short sleeved dresses but I lack the arm warmes. Plus: this blue print looks amazing!

{6} the oversized coat & pajama print pants: because it reminds me of Prada seasons past.

{7} the cobalt blue pleated dress: because it looks very feminine but extremely comfortable and body – forgiving at the same time! Plus: I have a soft spot for blue. (can you tell?) (images jcrew/styledotcom)

Yet, all these looks were on the catwalks from the top designers 6-7 seasons ago.
First look is pure Balenciaga. Even the hat.
Second is Dries van Notten…
Third is Marni…
and so and so.
She just softened the looks to make them more commercial.
I am not criticizing. At all. It is how the fashion system runs.

I love JCrew! We dont have it here in Europe. I buy online.
But it is getting a bit “pricey ” now…

ana, was Balenciaga the first who came up with a hat like that? When?

I see Dries van Noten has probably been a inspiration. Well, done though. I would like to wear that. Noticed some more great pieces/combinations. Overall a nice collection.

Appollonia : Ballenciaga under Ghesquiere.
Not EXACTLY the same hat, but similar look. As I said, the lines at JCrew were softened to make the look easier to digest. and what easier for Americans than a baseball cap like this one from Balenciaga Fall 2006 RTW here

I might be wrong, but I saw Balenciaga EVERYWHERE in NYC this fashion week. and lots of Dior (under Galliano) too. Lots of the red carpet looks were totally Dior. Even the new looks under Raf Simmons ( skirt over slims trousers) were there as well.
Pretty disappointing NYFW, with a few exceptions.

Gracias ana! I made caps like these with the animal print way earlier….loooong ago. Coincidentally I fabricated one for a sunny holiday because I ruined a cap in the washing machine. Huge success back then!

I wonder if I get bored by all these fashion shows or it’s the overkill because of the existence of the internet?
Didn’t I wrote yet I saw too many boring strapless Dior dresses on red carpets? Is it me or were red carpets more fun and less all the same poses at the ’90’s red carpets?

LFW; I have yet a Cara Delevingne overkill. And where are they gonna sell Rihanna’s ‘collection’ for River Island?

Appollonia: My pleasure chica:-) So you are a cap girl ?
Oh girl, please,,, dont even start. Rihana was a slap on the face, an insult for the new designers who are trying soooo hard to get noticed. I found it ABSURD. Utterly nonsense , as the brits use to say.
You re right. Red carpets became fastidious. Nowadays EVERYTHING is a reason for red carpets. From MacDonalds openings to Bar Mitzvahs.

Also , I dont “feel” Cara.. I see nothing special on her. Pretty ? Yes. Special ? mmm…Me dont thinks…

I’ve always loved head wear, caps, hats and whatever. Especially in Summer I protect my red hair and pale complexion. I gave on tanning long ago. Turning pink is not charming at all.

As for Rihanna ‘capsule collection’ right, it’s a slap in the face for struggling new designers. A show not worthy to appear on any official fashion week. It’s merchandise for her fans they can buy before or after a show.

We’ll see how long Cara will be around….hates her smirk.

You know, more I look at that 2006 Balenciaga, more I feel I like it more than I liked a lot of the latest collections! And that makes a brilliant designer in my book.

Oh, puuuhleaaase don’t get me started about Rihanna’s ‘designs’! I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read all the titles in the media:’Rihanna makes her fashion designer debut’ – whaaaa? How can they even imply such a thing? It’s really offensive for everyone who’s been working in the fashion industry for realz. :(

A review of Rihana s collection : ( not my words …)
“True, there were some consolations. For example, if you really, really like belly buttons, if you are totally nuts for navels, then this could be the collection for you.

If you only feel capable of wearing clothes on the lower half of your body if they are slashed up to your waist, then again, you are in luck.

Similarly, if you were a guy hoping for a one night stand and a girl started chatting to you in a bar wearing anything from the Rihanna for River Island collection, you could feel fair confident you’d be getting lucky. The only lingering uncertainty in your mind would be whether or not she would take a credit card.”

Ouuchh!!!

about Ballenciaga : I always felt his clothes really difficult, too hard to wear ( if I could afford ) , and trully beautiful neverthless. But Nicholas has this exceptional ability to set trends. He is a genius.
