Side Effects Music: Thievery Corporation The Forgotten People

I have to take this out of my system: ever since I watched the movie, I can’t stop thinking about it. Both the movie and the music. This music! Side Effects – have you seen it? If you haven’t please take my advice (our advice as both me and my Adored Husband feel the same about it): go see it! It’s a classic Soderbergh. A classic, captivating movie you might enjoy as well.

As you heard it before – and I cruelly reminded it in the Rooney Mara Interview piece – Side Effects was announced as Steven Soderbergh’s swan song. His last movie. Whether he’ll revise that decision, and I cross my fingers for that to happen, it remains to be seen. For now, let’s enjoy Side Effects to its full synopsis effect.

Thievery Corporation The Forgotten People was cleverly chosen for one of the key scenes of the film, I know there’s no actual video to it (except the audio – and that you can listen to after the jump), but maybe for the best – that way you can focus more on the music and not on the visuals. Oh – and if you have seen Side Effects, you can play all the key scenes in your head, maybe talk about them after the jump?

Side Effects movie soundtrack

I keep coming back to the old music. 2008 sounds like old after having talked about Rihanna earlier in the day! But Thievery Corporation has always been on my heavy rotation list and I guess they’ll always be. I was even certain, without previously knowing they were part of the movie’s soundtrack, that the song played during one of Side Effect’s key scenes was actually Thievery Corporation! I wish I could be able to do that with fashion designers as well (wink)!

I know this is a world away from what I proposed last Friday Break, but we love variation here, don’t we? Plus – it was really a pretext to talk about Side Effects and to really, warmly recommend it to you!

Yes, 2008……..anyway, I haven’t seen this film since it’s not released yet in my country. Storyline looks interesting and of course it’s Soderbergh’s swan song. But hopefully a break…..

Thanks for the great music. I listened three times…..made me dance, made me try my best sort of Arabic belly dance….going to listen again….)
