Erykah Badu For Tom Ford White Patchouli Perfume
June 21st, 2008 by kpriss
Tom Ford White Patchouli will breathe boutiques air in September this year and the ads are lead by Erykah Badu.
I know Ford uses sexual explicit adverts to promote his products. Or at least that’s what I was used to see. And looking at this White Patchouli black and white theme I can’t help but spying after the explicitness of it all. Besides the obvious head positioning and face expression? Is Ford sending his advertisers to church?
Of course I couldn’t forget the ever mystifying description of the perfume. I wish you the best of luck in decrypting it and don’t forget to let me know about your findings regarding the explicit content of the ad:
“For this project, I wanted to reinvent patchouli,(…) I loved the idea of mixing patchouli with white florals. We used patchouli orpur, which takes out some of the darker, smoky notes of patchouli. We mixed that with peony, bergamot, and jasmine. Additional notes include rose, coriander, and ambrette seed.”

Linda Evangelista Prada Ads Fall-Winter 2008-2009
June 21st, 2008 by kpriss
Linda’s new ad pictures just hit the market. Prada Fall Winter 2008 2009 Pivovarova-less and Evangelista-full are officially out.
I’m not sure what to make of them… I remember wearing this kind of outfit in the nineties so Linda fits in perfectly as a generation representative, however, her expression is rather strange. It reminds me of a plastic mannequin in an unnatural pose, scared and fearful.
And I must confess an unhidden curiosity regarding the shadow on the wall. Or the entire décor –what does it look like to you? On a first look, I like the shoes, without picking at the brand, they have that mythological Hermes-air, like that foot is flying on its own (in fact, Linda’s position is really aerial).
On a closer look, the shoes-case looks like a gross thievery act from the Jurassic Park collection. Which reminds me a famous line from the legendary movie “Zoolander” that I’ll shamelessly adapt here: Did you think maybe there’s more to fashion than being a really, really ridiculously bad-looking shoe?
Friday Break – Forrest Gump Life Is Like A Box Of Chocolates
June 20th, 2008 by kpriss
This is one of my favorites films ever. So many scenes, so many metaphors, so many messages…
I sometimes think (and I bet it sounds like an awful cliché) that they don’t make movies like that anymore. Then again, every generation (generically speaking) has its films. This is mine, so enjoy with me this collection of memorable moments with Gump. Forrest Gump.
Kate Moss Numéro Korea
June 20th, 2008 by kpriss
The first issue of Numéro Korea is a reprint of Numéro France 59 (which puts it three years back, in December 2004 – January 2005) starring Kate Moss dark feathered.
Ethically incorrect but aesthetically wonderful (graced by photoshop) this Kate Moss reprint cover for Numéro Korea is the work of Solve Sundsbo. What do you think? Was this a good choice? Kate Moss three years younger, reprinted, for the cover?

Karl Lagerfeld Road Security Wisdom
June 20th, 2008 by kpriss
I have to admit that’s a pretty smart marketing move over on the French front! Karl Lagerfeld promotes the light-reflecting safety vest (part of a regulation that becomes active October 1st and if you choose to not respect it, you’re good to pay $210).
He’s as infatuated as ever, wearing his second-eyes-dark shades but transmitting a heavy word of advice. So this time, pay attention to the Kaiser, he knows the roads to longevity:
C’est jaune, c’est moche, ça ne va avec rien, mais ça peut vous sauver la vie./It’s yellow, it’s ugly, it doesn’t go with anything, but it could save your life.

Annie Leibovitz Exhibition A Photographer’s Life 1990-2005
June 18th, 2008 by kpriss
Annie Leibovitz exhibition travelled the world to reach Paris. In collaboration with Louis Vuitton she’s presenting some of her most famous works from 1990 to 2005.
Not only public faces or public places, but also family and close friends pop from the beautiful pictures. From Jamie Foxx to the Olympic Games athletes, American west’s stunning landscapes, the exhibition originally started in 2006 and went global (you can see the rest of the pictures after the jump).
Here I presented you some of her works from the exhibition that I have been able to find on the internet.
Of course you always have her Vanity Fair and Vogue works in case you’ll miss the exhibition (or you have already missed it).
I do appreciate her style, and her magnetism. She seems to have not only an eye for art, but also for controversy. And she sure has a uniqueness to her work (at least the fashion magazines work). Love her or hate her, I think she’s one safe investment. What about you? Friend or foe of Annie’s work?
Kate Moss, Daria Werbowy, Lara Stone W Magazine Summer Camp
June 18th, 2008 by kpriss
I admire Kate for her longfashionlife, Daria for her discreet but persistent ways and I really dislike Lara Stone for her vicious look.
W gathered them all, plus Sasha Pivovarova and the world’s hottest new designers in a photo shoot by Bruce Weber called “Summer Camp” from which I took the liberty to cut the too obvious pictures (you can see the rest of the pictures I handpicked for you right after the cover-photo).
Kate Moss See Through Outfit In Istambul
June 18th, 2008 by kpriss
I’m not such a narrow minded person to not understand the importance of having at least a see-through piece of clothing in one’s wardrobe.
However, I would declare Kate Moss as the champion of see through since I could never imagine how anyone in their right minds would step out in a Muslim country accompanied by own daughter wearing a dress similar to the one Kate worn for this occasion. A Photography exhibition. Mert and Marcus exhibition. Kate Moss exhibitionist. Could you do it? Could you even understand her choice?
