Louis Vuitton 1001 Nights Jewelry Collection

I promise you, more I look at this collection (especially the $ 725 bracelet), I get the feeling it’s a kitsch. Why? Because it looks like (at least to me) those four Audi circles you can see on (Audi) cars.

The 1001 Nights Collection, recently launched, is proof that Mr. Marc Jacobs is loosing his Napoleon touch and can’t deal with both LV and Marc by Marc, plus his busy personal life. The flower-motif from this 1001 Nuits is strikingly similar to his Daisy line of products, except the LV one seems more geometrical (which would be logical since the LV monogram is all about angles). Does this flower motif 1001 Nights Jewelry Collection from Louis Vuitton looks similar to Marc Jacobs’ Daisy? (photos via luxuo)

Beyonce’s House Of Dereon Jewelry Collection

If you thought that Beyoncé, the mermaid, was taking a long, newlywed break from every industry, you were slightly wrong!

Not only I suspect her being 100% behind her sister’s career, but she’s also preparing a jewelry line for her (and her mother’s) House of Deréon fashion house. I don’t know what accountant is doing their balance for the fashion so called house, but the word is nobody wears the tacky Deréon clothes. There was even a contradictory campaign for the HOD Junior Line with little children dressed up as grown ups that was rather disturbing. Now this jewelry line that’s affordable and available from Spring 2009 (prices from $16-$68). In fact, besides the cheapness of this entire Deréon project, this photo from the so called jewelry line looks so Cavalli to me, I can’t understand what would be so originally designed about the collection! Do you have info saying that House of D is a valuable fashion line?

Bruce Springsteen Secret Garden From Jerry Maguire

I don’t know about you (and I’m very curious to find out!), but Jerry Maguire’s Tom Cruise wasn’t all bad to my eyes.

His acting was rather convincing, and the story was perfectly romantic. And today I was feeling romantic and I remembered Bruce Springsteen’s song. I liked it at the time and things haven’t changed ever since. It’s not a movie for intellectuals (or pretended intellectuals) – it’s a light flavored movie for easy days. Today I’ll leave my movie snob at home and go for a walk in Bruce Springsteen’s Secret Garden from Jerry Maguire. Enjoy!

Abbey Lee Kershaw Is Dazed And Confused In October 2008

This is the most beautiful cover I’ve seen in a loooong time! And that has nothing to do with Elevation, that makes me think about U2’s Tomb Raider Elevation (that I loved. Movie and song too), it has everything to do with the cover itself.

It’s so dark but so stylish in the same time, I can’t get over this October Dazed and Confused. Truth being told, who’s posing is of no importance at all, is the styling that got me staring and wondering why we can’t find more beautiful covers like this one! The splendid collaboration between Gareth Pugh and Nick Knight surely is a smashing hit! Does this hollow cover works for you, or you wish you would’ve seen more of Abbey Lee Kershaw?

Jennifer Lopez Does Elle US October 2008

It seems like only yesterday the Jennifer Lopez no-longer-J-Lo hunted down every blog, every pixel of the internet for her twins pictures that were so highly paid by People magazine.

Now she seems to be celebrating her getting back in shape and maybe a wanted-glorious comeback in the industry (whatever industry that would be since she’s a star on so many levels). Elle US has granted Jennifer formerly known as J-Lo (even if I don’t see that bothering her so much right now she’s into comeback, using her every single brand ever) a pictorial with some of the world’s most appreciated designers as their muse (?!). (more pictures after the jump)

Liv Tyler Covers UK Harper’s Bazaar October 2008

Harper’s Bazaar, the Fashion Special issue for October 2008 stars Liv Tyler on the cover. I decided to show you this because I’m puzzled by Liv.

I can’t really understand her weight. It seems to bounce in impossible ways from skinny to overweight in photo shoots away. I’ve seen her recently in two films. In fact two is rather forced because I couldn’t stand seeing The Strangers til the end even if I was curious to see Gemma’s acting. It’s one of those movies where you get a serious overdose of violence with no reason whatsoever. So that leaves me the first movie I saw lately starring Liv and Adam Sandler: Reign Over Me. I have to recommend you this one! It’s truly great! I won’t say another word by fear of spoilers, but do see it! Anyway, Liv’s characters almost always lack substance, she’s rather the same adorable Arwen the Elf princess from The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Her characters are almost always based solely on her looks. (I know, I’m always happy when a pretext comes along to share some movies with you, so you have to pardon my lack of style talk for this one!) What do you think of Liv?

Helena Christensen’s Natalia Vodianova FAT Magazine First Issue

Because only yesterday we talked about Helena Christensen and her photograph ways, here’s the proof she’s getting more attention as a behind-the-lens person than the modeling beauty she always was and still is:

Fashion, Art & Type Magazine, the first issue, has Natalia Vodianova on the cover, photographed by Helena Christensen, with a glorious dove-ish Marc Jacobs hat and a strange captive bird-like pose. I haven’t found any more information about this magazine and its first issue, so if you do, you’re more than welcome to contribute. Until then, let me know if Helena’s lens does any justice to originality.

Tilda Swinton Blackbook September 2008 Photos

I’m continuously troubled by Tilda Swinton. And so is everyone. The only problem is that nobody dares to ban her unconventional self.

She’s by far one of the most original persons promoted in the media. And she shamelessly knows and takes advantage of that. I think, after all, that this is her power – she reigns, just like the Blackbook article said. Tilda Swinton reigns on the shallow and superficials just because she knows her power lies in their amazement. (more images after the jump)

Tilda Swinton Blackbook photos cover Chanel

Tilda is the kind of man-woman, woman-man who enjoys being goth because she can’t do girly. That’s understandable and simply great because she’s a woman who embraced her looks, who didn’t tried to be different just because she’s not fashionable. She molded fashion to take her looks into consideration and thus she became a style icon. A fierce one, I giver her that, but nevertheless someone who’s being followed! How do you look at Tilda? How does Tilda look to you? And what’s your favorite Blackbook image? (I completely fell for the Rodarte flying dress and the Ferretti eagle like black dress)(click thumbnails to see larger images)
