Stitched Fashion Designers By Stephen Campbell

Talking about unusual, surprising finds: take a look at Stephen Campbell’s stitched illustrations of fashion luminaries such as Sonia Rykiel, Iris Apfel or Alber Elbaz! Aren’t these just the coolness?

Drawing sketches has been done all over again, our beloved fashion designers even becoming cartoon characters every now and then. But Stephen Campbell’s vision is as lovely as is warm and unique and I’d love to see these turned into wall art in my home!

Denim For Spring: Levi’s Liberty Collection

There’s hardly any reason to add something else other than Levi’s when you want to talk about how the denim craze started. Because it all started with Levi’s. That’s how!

From creating the very first pair of jeans, Levi’s has come a mighty long way and following their continuous search for innovative solutions addressing the new generation, they teamed up with Liberty of London, the iconic label which has become the go-to destination for flowery prints. The result: a lovely, flowery spring-ready collection. The Levi’s and Liberty enhanced denim items are ready for you starting this very May, at Levi’s stores worldwide.

Dream Bedding For Kids!

And I’m writing this in full conscience as I am, as some of you already know, a well-accomplished mother of four. I usually make our basics supplies (home-wear for the kiddies rooms) from Ikea. It’s just convenient – for their age and their momentary needs. What they lack in customization, we make up by doing it ourselves. But there are things that not even mommy’s magic hands or daddy’s magic tools can’t accomplish. And then we look for inspiration further than our local Ikea.

How about these amazing Princess and Astronaut bedding sets? Amazing much? I thought they’re really wonderful so I decided to share the beauty with you! Only a photo print, of course, but look at the details and just imagine your kids’ dreams when they’d be tucked in like this!

Bag Bridge: Louis Vuitton Alma Bag International Campaign

For years now, they kept saying that the it-bag was over and done with. But some things just won’t go away. Like the Louis Vuitton bag myth – it’s so enduring, so appealing, so everlasting that I keep being surprised by its constant reinvention. It’s the Phoenix of the bags, always reigniting the it-bag spark from its ashes.

The latest ad campaign from Louis Vuitton highlights the Alma bag. Formerly known as the Champs-Elysees bag. Or the Squire. Three lives already for the same iconic shape and aesthetic, originally created by Gaston-Louis Vuitton in 1934. Quite the temporal journey and not much seem to have changed if we’re still coveting the same bags since almost a century ago!

Great Gatsby’s Isla Fisher In Fashion, May 2013

Isla Fisher is one lovely lady, talented actress, mother of two and wife to one of the most controversial entertainers, Sasha Baron Cohen. She’s also the covergirl of Canada’s Fashion Magazine for the May 2013 issue.

The cover line reads a direct reference to one of the four movies Isla has lined up for release this year: The Great Gatsby. It’s one of the most awaited movies of the year, being a Baz Luhrman project with high fashion costumes by Prada. The fashion world is shivering at the name alone: The Great Gatsby is set to premiere on May 10th Stateside and Isla Fisher is part of the cast, as Myrtle Wilson.

Edie Campbell Is White Mischief In Fearless Vogue Italia April 2013 Issue

In many other circumstances, this ‘White Mischief’ pictorial would’ve raised some questions. At least in my head it would’ve. But I could never suspect Vogue Italia of aligning itself to the ‘white catwalk’ trend since Franca Sozzani has proven herself so many times over as a fashion color-revolutionary. I trust her and I trust her vision.

Edie Campbell is a lovely sight on the cover of Vogue Italia’s April 2013 ‘Fearless’ issue. Actually – this is the best sight I’ve seen of Edie since this entire hype aura has been given to her! Steven Meisel worked his charms around her pretty face with a little help from fashion editor Karl Templer.

Easter Fashion Headlines: Reese Witherspoon’s New Hair, Suri Cruise’s New Bangs!

A slow couple of days during the Easter celebrations. But while I was doing my fash-interwebs rounds, I did notice a few headlines repeating endlessly about this and that hairstyle! Can you believe it? Hair headlines for Easter?

Cutie pie Suri Cruise who’s almost 7 already, got her first avant-garde bangs these days. Although it really looks like a self-inflicted haircut, I’ll have to suspect a stylist is involved, she’s such a high-profile little one that she can’t go unnoticed when parading such a daring cut! (truth being told, I always wanted short bangs like this! Audrey Hepburn style – but I never got the courage to really do the chop. Maybe come next Easter?)

Emma Watson Out Of Control In GQ Magazine UK May 2013

Soooo: Emma Watson, huh? In GQ! I never thought I’d see that! But Emma is all grown-up now, she’ll be 23 in two weeks time (April 15th, to be more specific) and this must be some twisted Birthday present…

The cover title reads ‘Out of Control’ and as I’m having a hard time imagining Emma Watson behaving erratically and brainlessly, I have high hopes that her inside GQ pictorial won’t be just that – brainless and hectic, laying it all on Emma Watson’s Harry Potter fame to do the marketing trick.

There’s no further information (yet) about this cover, about the photographer, stylist or whatever story they made up to accompany the pictures. Let’s just all hope for the best and keep an eye on the British GQ!
