Easy Like Seven Colors Of The World!

Sometimes I find it hard to choose from so many beautiful pictures, so many stunning moments I could share with you. So today, instead of showing you one Easy Moment, I decided I’d come with seven great photographs of our beloved Earth. Pictures from here and there, incredible views of such a beautiful Nature, each in a representative color. I hope you’ll enjoy every single one of them!

Blue like the Arctic Beaufort Sea (by Paul Nicklen). Brown like the massive Bolivian salt flat. (by Robert B. Haas). Karl Lagerfeld’s Calendar For Marie Claire With Eva Herzigova

Move over, Vogue Paris! January will be a Calendar-fight month! Karl Lagerfel shot a Calendar of his own with his new adored Eva Herzigova.

Marie Claire Italy will be sold with the Calendar starting December 16th, in a black box. There will be 24 images in this Italian Calendar, all shot by the Kaiser himself, mesmerized by a woman’s power to be more than one. So he got Eva Herzigova playing a dozen characters, all in a night’s work, from 8pm to 8am. What would be your chosen one? The Pin Ups Calendrier by Terry Richardson for Paris Vogue or Marie Claire’s Karl Lagerfeld and Eva Herzigova’s Italian Calendar? (click pictures to see larger images) (via wwd)

UPDATE: I also added the rest of the pictures from Karl’s first Marie Claire calendar. November, however, proved to be difficult because it involved a cancer stick you know I disapprove heavily, especially associated with fashion. So you only have a part of those pictures, the part where there was no coffin nail…

This calendar is a first for almost everyone – the first calendar signed by Karl the photographer, the first calendar for Marie Claire. December 11th there will be a festive launch of this calendar (you’ll find it attaché to Marie Claire Italy January). (via)

Le Calendrier Vogue 2009

I usually like Pin Up pictures. There’s something playful and superficial but at the same time intangible about pin up girls.

The legendary Vogue Calendrier, shot by Terry Richardson looks strange to me. Stranger than the January Issue that’s accompanying. Beautiful girls looking very anonymously. There’s almost nothing in those pictures that brings them a step further from a cheap advertisement. Looking tacky and lifeless to me, this calendar doesn’t have more than four pictures I could like: Anna J’s Avril, Erin’s June, Hanne’s February and Taryn’s Mars. Other than that, you can also find Jourdan with a slim syringe or Arlenis with a huge glass between her legs, not to forget Liu’s bizarre makeup and her strange eyes pose. Sometimes clichés are welcomed. And that cat-cover is so overrated and so circulated, I’m glad it’s only a cover and it doesn’t get to stay on for a month. But do tell me which one’s your favorite and how is this Vogue Calendrier from your point of view! (click thumbnails to see larger images) (photos via tfs)

UPDATE: I added a collection of pictures with Bettie Page, one of the original pin-up girls. Spot the difference…. (the last thumbnail)

Roy Orbison’s Pretty Woman From Pretty Woman

It’s one of those movies that you have to have seen. Impossible to overlook, impossible to forget, Pretty Woman is a reference. Julia Roberts and Richard Gere made a legend with that romantic movie and I think everyone (and their dog) has seen it at least once.

Roy Orbison’s song, Pretty Woman, is as joyful and easy as the movie. So today I come before you saying “Yes, I liked Pretty Woman!”. I enjoyed that movie and it’s part of a movie shelf some label as superficial and commercial. I label as movie tout court. Because it’s entertainment and it’s supposed to be entertaining. And lovely. And joyful! Ooooohh-oooooooh, pretty woman! (right after the break there’s a clip with Roy Orbison singing Pretty Woman live)

Madonna’s Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2009 Ad Campaign!

No Photoshop this time! The Spring Summer 2009 Ad Campaign For Louis Vuitton starring her Madgesty has surfaced just weeks after rumors took the internet by storm.

The pictures look every inch suited for The Core Values Louis Vuitton campaing. Shot indeed in the little café Figaro, the pictures look impressively better than what we would’ve expected. Slightly depersonalized and highly inoculated with Madonna’s ways, the two first photos look more photoshopped than what I’ve previously mixed for fun. Actually, looking at that smug expression on Madonna’s smooth and perfect face, admiring her wrinkles-less looks, I’m sadly forced to conclude that fashion is nothing more than a façade. A marketing circus to cash in as much as possible where brands melt into one another for image purposes. How do you like your Louis Vuitton featuring Madonna? (more after the jump)

Marc Jacobs Undresses For Graffiti New Collection In Harper’s Bazaar January 2009

I often ask myself what makes Marc Jacobs so popular and loved? He’s up and down fashion creativeness isn’t one of the reasons, I’m sure!

Now I think I know the answer – his nude posing! Marc Jacobs loves to expose himself. Ever since he lost his chubby appearance, his adoration for his new body is unbelievable. Now he tagged himself with Louis Vuitton à la Graffiti style and posed with a reinvention of late Stephen Sprouse’s Graffiti LV series. The shot wasn’t wrapped up by Juergen Teller, as you may think (or suspect from the looks of it) but by Terry Richardson.(more after the jump)

Supermodels World: Claudia Schiffer YLS Spring Summer 2009

While last year she was rolling at the Kaiser’s command for Chanel, Claudia has moved on and received yet another glorious ad campaign.

Last for Yves Saint Laurent was Naomi Campbell, before that, Kate Moss. With two supers consequently in a year of ad campaigns, Yves Saint Laurent is clearly promoting the Supermodels Reign over fashion and all things connected. Claudia Schiffer is the Spring face for YSL legendary Manifesto. While Kate Moss did a hallucinating (literally) video last year, I hope for better this Valentine’s, when Claudia’s YSL Manifesto will be released. I was getting used to Naomi YSL campaign. She looked far better (to me) than Claudia Schiffer for YSL. Which do you prefer? (via wwd)

Bryanboy: From Blogger To Model

You remember Bryanboy, the inspiration behind Marc Jacob’s latest ad campaign? Well, he’s moving up in industry.

After having a bag made especially (or that’s what we’re lead to believe) for him, he’s taking things to another level with a quick modeling gig. Jaeha’s Alex Kim is so enthusiastic about Bryanboy’s androgynous appearance and his internet ways that he’s (almost) ready to declare him a spokeface for the brand. Considering this another one of those brave and inspiring examples of how can blogging turn you into a celebrity (besides the notorious case of Mr Sartorialist), who do you prefer? Bryanboy or Scott Schuman? (more after the jump)
