Supermodels Do British Fashion At The Olympics Closing Ceremonies: Why The Hate?

The Supermodels who walked the Olympic Stadium catwalk for the Closing Ceremonies of the 2012 London Olympics received so many hateful remarks, it’s hard to understand what’s the world’s take on fashion!

In short: some of the world’s most acclaimed supermodels come from the United Kingdom. As such, for the 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony, the GB has put together an impressive show (and I thought the Opening Ceremony was breathtaking!) where they invited so many great musicians hailing from the UK! They made it all so modern, so young! I really loved their approach both of the opening and the closing show!

British fashion plays an impressive part in the global fashion industry and it was really nice to see some real fashion, not the leotard kind at the Olympics! So: great British designers were given a super model for a muse, one that’ll be wearing a representative design from their collections at the 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony! Supermodels Don’t Age: Cindy Crawford’s Amazing Beach Body

Although I’ve seen her gracing fashion magazines covers and pictorials, Cindy Crawford completely stunned me today, when I saw her taking a simple stroll on the beach. Because there was no stylist, no lights prop, no photoshop post op involved.

Just Cindy Crawford. Taking a walk on a warm sandy beach, like the rest of us. And looking pretty irresistible while doing it! Can you actually believe she’s 46? Wow! Need that picture on the wall when I’m working out – if that won’t keep me from being lazy, then I don’t know what would! What’s your inspiration for “growing up”? (and I did that purposely, I don’t believe in growing old)

Roberto Cavalli Spring Summer 2012 Supermodels Ad Campaign – My Favorite!

Beyond artsy and fancy, there’s always fashion! And as far as I’m concerned, the best ad campaign for the Spring Summer 2012 is royally served by Roberto Cavalli!

Some of the most beautiful women in the world (at least as far as fashion’s horizon in concerned) gather to celebrate Roberto Cavalli’s SS 2012 by posing for Steven Meisel. (whenever, wherever you have more than 3 models to shoot, you have to hire Steven Meisel! Only his lenses can capture true Fashion Royalty!) Naomi Campbell! Kristen McMenamy! Karen Elson! And Daphne Groeneveld as the newcomer! Work it ladies! (when I grow up I want to Kristen McMenamy! This campaign makes me proud to be over 30, being a mom, and growing out my gray hair!)

Supermodels Approved Spa Resorts

During this exciting but also challenging time of the year (January depression, anyone?) you might find it interesting to know that you can go get pampered in some very select SPAs of which even supermodels approve!

So if you’re in New York, try the Townhouse Spa praised by the likes of Doutzen Kroes (they have a website here), in Los Angeles try the Burke Williams loved by Eva Longoria and Hillary Duff (website here). In Las Vegas there’s Sahra Spa and Hammam at The Cosmopolitan visited by Alessandra Ambrosio (more details here) and in Miami there’s agua at Delano loved by Kate Upton (get to know them here).

Supermodels Do Duran Duran’s Girl Panic

I know you missed the supermodels! I did! If there’s one thing that’s’ better than great music, it’s having greatly beautiful supermodels starring in supergood music videos! (Helena Christensen makes a wonderful drunk, if I may say so. Naomi Campbell makes a great self-absorbed, self-sufficient individual and Eva Herzigova is perfectly floating with no strings attached whatsoever.)

Duran Duran’s Girl Panic video gets a hold of you! There’s so much going on in that video, I can’t look elsewhere and pretend it’s just a song. The girls? The clothes, the setting? I just watch it. Again. And Again. Let’s watch it together! (and discuss it after)

Supermodels Beach Superholiday

What would Christmas be without a little… snow? You think? I bet the supermodels know that one a bit different: what would Christmas be without a little sun? Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Bar Refaeli all met up in Cabo, Mexico for a beach sun session. Stephanie Seymour was also spotted in St Barts.

Okay, actually they were all crumbled poolside, but for the love of the image, let’s call it beach. Because supermodels love showing their superbodies, they’re celebrating the Holidays poolside. How about you? How do you love your Holidays? (we’re gathering the family around the classic Christmas tree, caroling and celebrating the cozy way) (photos via 1, 2)

i-D The Supermodels, Lara Stone, Georgia Jagger, Winter 2009

i-D’s cover trifecta for the 2009 winter Flesh and Blood Issue is not without a certain charm. But still. Don’t you feel tired of all that Lara Stone overexposure?

Mind the little Jagger girl, she’s coming up strong! (must be the BB gap) Supermodels? Three beautiful ladies wearing as less as black leather boots for a magazine cover will sell despite of who they are and what they do (or used to do). Because clothes-less issues as even more relevant than the actual clothes! (the story continues right after the jump with more images, check out the gallery to see more from the Winter 2009 issue of i-D magazine!)

Those Were The Supermodels Days!

The day when even models could be seen laughing and having fun! The supers pack for a super Pirelli calendar just having a da-ba-da-ba-doo-time!

Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, Amber Valletta (and two girls I can’t recognize) just laughing their hearts out and taking the set down! Now I know why everyone wanted to be a model back in the days! (via)
