Get Stella McCartney’s SS 2009 Collection On Your Phone!
December 18th, 2008 by kpriss
What to do in those endless hours of walking to or from different locations on a day’s work? Listen to music! Great idea! But what if you were a tip-to-toe fashionista who doesn’t like wasting any time, be it for music or daydreaming?
Well, then you’re the perfect target for Stella McCartney’s new ad campaign! It’ll be featured on big newssites and by clicking the advertisement banners you’ll be able to see the latest collections from Stella McCartney right on your iPhone or Smartphone! You may see that as a perfect marketing opportunity. Stella saw it as an…environmental responsibility! Because the campaign goes online and doesn’t involve any plastic/paper! Besides the obvious question – would you go environmental and read your magazines online I have to add another one: do you think Stella’s initiative (she’s full of innovations, lately, isn’t she?) is a blissful one? And more fashion campaigns/catwalks should be made available for the iPhone/smartphone users? (via wwd, photos via style.com, apple.com)

Inès de la Fressange Shows Off Her Roger Vivier Cut-Up Bag
December 18th, 2008 by kpriss
You know those games we used to play when we were children? Identifying and picking up the right shapes in a picture? That’s how far you’d have to go if you want to be a bag designer!
Roger Vivier’s Bruno Frisoni and Inès de la Fressange came up with a revolutionary bag. So they say! The bag is as simple as it gets, hanging on a chain. Called the Cut-Up bag, it’s highly customizable at the point of becoming unique, your very own designed bag! Now, before getting too thrilled about it, you should know there’s limitation to your new found designer! The Cut Up bag allows you to choose letters in a chosen-by-you font, color and size and put them on! (as long as they fit!) You can also choose the color and texture of the bag! Nonetheless, you’re bound to keeping a biiig R V on the Cut-Up, but for $1,875, who cares? A true bargain, this Roger Vivier Cut-Up bag! I understand having made a R V INES bag – Inès is a bag fan of customization, she admits having all her credit cards made pink! I’m an old fashioned girl, I would really mind having my name on my bag! What about you, what would you write on your very own Roger Vivier bag? (via style.com, wwd)
What Makes A Model – Freshface Alena Enikeeva
December 18th, 2008 by kpriss
I was always surprised by a fashion photo shooting and how much it changes a face. A while back I posted a series of articles with before/after pictures of known models before make up vs photo shooting picture. The difference wasn’t all that notable. But that won’t make me rest my case: fashion photos change people.
For the good or the bad, you’ll be the judge! I’ll just gather some fresh faces from here and there and we’ll have our say if the girl is headed for a golden future in fashion or not. Today’s freshface is Alena Enikeeva. She’s an 1988 born young Russian 175cm/5’9” 79/63/91 // 30”/25”/36” with Brown hair and Green eyes. What’s your first impression? (via)
Dare To Wear Your Music With Artist Bracelets?
December 17th, 2008 by kpriss
How far are you willing to take your inner rock-er? Wearing the clothes they wear, wearing the clothes they design… But how about the music they made?
Wear Your Music is an interesting fashion product – you can wear bracelets made from the guitar strings of your favorite rock guitarist! But are you willing to pay a heavy price tag for that? Because a guitar string (be it Avril Lavigne’s or Brian May’s, they all look the same!) costs let’s say $100 (there are few going over that hundred limit – par example, Eric Clapton’s is $500).
But if you want to pimp it, here’s how it goes: the bracelet is already engraved with the artist’s initials but you can add a clasp (+ $75), a diamond in the Ball (+ $150), you can engrave it (+ $75), make it gold (+ $150) and add a Diamond (+$75). If we do a simple math, we come to a very precious Eric Clapton fully pimped guitar string bracelet costing you only $1025! …or you can choose a standard Limited Edition Rock America for just $9.99 (it’s colored in white, blue and red!). So, which one would it be? (via)
DKNY Jeans Ads By Scott Schuman
December 17th, 2008 by kpriss
Low budget calls for drastic measures! Donna Karan New York Jeans wrapped up the spring summer 2009 campaign.
That wouldn’t be strange, if it wasn’t for the photographer who was responsible for this campaign – none the other but our friend, the Sartorialist! Mr Scott Schuman was the official photographer for DKNY Jeans Ad Campaign. From clothes vendor to stay at home dad, photographer par plaisir, blogger, fashion magazines darling and now fashion photographer? Given his “style”, we might suspect how the upcoming campaign looks like. Maybe black and white, but surely street style. Given the magnitude of this blogging phenomenon, are fashion houses thinking of blogging too? How about it if we could post comments on Louis Vuitton.com about their latest catwalk? After all, Marc is no stranger to blogging around! (via wwd, photos via style.com, sartorialist.blogspot.com)

Kate Moss And Sasha Pivovarova Longchamp Spring Summer 2009 RTW Campaign
December 16th, 2008 by kpriss
You remember I was wondering not long ago about Kate channeling Sasha. In times when everyone wonders who the next supers are going to be, Naomi walks the runway alongside Chanel or Jourdan. Now Kate Moss is doing a full flavored Sasha and viceversa in the new Longchamp Ad Campaign.
Kate Moss is a Longchamp girl for quite some time now. Since the house recently started a new offensive, in Ready To Wear territory, they brought along Sasha Pivovarova and managed an incredible effect. Forget fashion, forget luxury, forget Longchamp! I’m mesmerized by this ad campaign shot by Mert and Marcus! So many interpretations, only two pictures! How about we give it a second of our mind’s time and say what’s the story with this new Longchamp ad glory? (click pictures to see larger images) (via wwd)
Style (And Other Issues), After Tom Ford
December 16th, 2008 by kpriss
Ever since I popped my head out in fashion land, I understood that gay-ness is uber trendy. If you’re not gay, at least you have to have a gay friend. Who knows absolutely everything about fashion and style! Did I got it wrong? The gay friend is the ultimate accessory! It even beats the it-bag! It’s simply a MUST if you want to call yourself a fashionista!
Given the above said, it’s only natural that women fall in divine adoration with Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford. The most stylish of all fashion gays, right? So, if you’re one of those unfortunate 99,9% of women who can’t count either of them as entourage, I found the golden rules of style by Tom Ford. His fashion Decalogue. Let’s read and gather round for comments right after!
1.I don’t believe in playing around much with suit cuts. I like a fairly classic shape that gives a man strong shoulders, a fitted waist, and long legs. Classic simplicity always works.
2.Someone who is secure enough to be very present when relating to another person is sexy. In other words, a good listener always lands who he wants.
3.When mixing patterns, don’t think about it too much-just throw it together.
4.I hate the trend of short suit jackets. When a man’s butt is showing below the bottom of his jacket, I think it makes him look like a female flight attendant from the back—not my idea of sexy.
5.With jewelry, I actually like bracelets more than anything else, but they have to be small and simple. Cary Grant always wore a simple gold bracelet with his watch, and I think that was very chic.
6.If you’re careful not to overuse Botox, then yes, why shouldn’t you use it? A little bit of it between the brows can make you look less stern and more approachable. Who needs to frown, anyway?
7.Just like girls need to learn to be comfortable in heels before they go out in them for the first time, a man should try wearing a suit throughout a normal day. I do most things in a suit—and sometimes even in a tuxedo—and so I’m really comfortable in one.
8.When it comes to grooming, keep earwax out of the ears and keep stray hairs and flakes of skin in check and you should be good to go. In the morning, I put ice cubes on my eyes and use lots of Visine.
9.Time and silence are the most luxurious things today.
10.There’s one indulgence every man should try in his lifetime: If you’re straight, sleep with a man at least once, and if you’re gay, don’t go through life without sleeping with a woman. Either way, you might be surprised at how natural it will feel if you can get past the mind-f**k of stereotypes. In the end, it’s just another person that you are relating to in a physical way.

Kate Hudson Does Harper’s Bazaar In January 2009
December 16th, 2008 by kpriss
What a girl wants, what a girl needs…? Besides two magazine covers in the same month? January 2009 is a golden month for golden girl Kate Hudson!
Besides being an absolute pioneer for InStyle US with an interview signed Stella McCartney, she also covers UK Harper’s Bazaar, The Body Issue! She looks unquestionably gorgeous, but the Body Issue? Whenever there’s a body-talk, I can’t help but thinking about Elle MacPherson. I grew up with her being “The Body”. Anyone candidate for that position better be at least as smashing as she was! Kate Hudson is one of those next door beauties, she looks great, but is she a true bearer of a Body Issue? What’s become of beauty standards if we’re taking Gwyneth Paltrow’s legs as a reference, like this Harper’s Bazaar cover says? Which one of Kate’s January covers is your favorite? (photos via tfs)
