Viktor & Rolf The Freishütz Opera Swarovski Cristallized Aplenty

Fashion and music work wonderfully together. Especially when we’re talking about opera music – it just makes it all outstandingly extraordinaire!

Dutch designers Viktor & Rolf talk through their creations for Robert Wilson’s Carl Maria von Weber “Der Freischütz”. It’s all in the CRYSTALLIZED™ element of the costume: they used (appx) a million Swarovski crystals for these Opera designs. Impressive and colorful, Viktor & Rolf take a fashion trip to the Baden-Baden Opera and really make a blast out of it! Almost better than a Haute Couture show, isn’t it? Beyonce’s Giant Bicycle

You’d think that when stars go out riding their bikes, they’d be surely riding some Chanel, Gucci & Co.! Not Queen Bee! No-oh!

Beyonce was photographed carelessly riding a bike around Dublin. A regular, fashion-low-profile, Giant bicycle! No bling, no interlocked CC or GC! Way to go, B! (too bad about those treggings and UGGs). That’s some lesson for the ostentatious bike creators from Sasha Fierce herself: Beyonce rides with the Giants! (photo via)

Miley Cyrus Collection with Max Azria For Walmart

Miley’s fashion designer career starts right around the corner, at your local Wal-Mart! Though the fashion power of the world’s number one discount department store company is questionable (in the same time being more revenue-powerful than a regular high fashion house), Miley Cyrus joins the recession-friendly commerce wave.

Designing with Max Azria (wait, what?) and modelling her own collection is a step up in Miley’s portfolio and surely a serious update in her bank account. The collection will be priced under $20 and it’s all about tees, graphic tees, more tees, tops, pants (skinny, I imagine), shoes and accessories. Or like Miley puts it: “I love creating looks that are all about expression and individuality”. Nevertheless, don’t you just love buying Max Azria at your local Walmart! (starting August!) Guns’n’Roses You Could Be Mine

Terminators and Guns’n’Roses is a classic love affair. My rock’n’roll self came to light this week and claimed its toll. Given that Terminators seem to be in fashion these days, I’m gracefully breaking some serious vintage today.

Thank you for this wonderful week, for your great comments! As I’m sure it will be a pleasure, I invite our friend, Adriana, to tell us a bit about this song and GnR! This is my kind of vintage! Hope you’ll have the best weekend yet! Enjoy Guns’n’Roses You Could Be Mine! (…I’ll be back!)

Jimmy Choo Ft Elton John Collection

Designers team up for noble causes. Jimmy Choo has formed an artistic allegiance with Elton John Foundation against AIDS.

Together they issued a collection that will be included in Jimmy Choo’s next catalogue. The collection glams up from flip flops to more exclusive pieces, everything spiced in the most amazing mixed prints you could come up with when thinking about Jimmy Choo. With prices ranged from $95 to $995, 25% of the profits go for Elton John’s Foundation against AIDS. I would love me some whimsical pieces from this collection but I fear that for just $95 you only get the flip flops! What say you? (via)

Uma Thurman Covers UK Harper’s Bazaar July 2009

Not your average fashion pose (even if it seems July is a month for portrait-covers), Uma Thurman looks you in the eye from the cover of Harper’s Bazaar July. (at least it’s not the usual mid-aged accomplished woman portrayal in a magazine, that disappointing attitude of she’s got nothing provocative left to show so we’re just gonna average-photograph her in the green grass wearing something white!)

I always love her Tarantino-versatility, her fashion background and her ageless self. It seems that no matter what she does, the passing years have nothing on her! Of course the obvious advantages of Photoshop are undeniable, but how would we really react at the sight of natural wrinkles of an age-faithful photo on a non/fashion magazine? (photo via)

Kate Moss, Not Pregnant!

Kate Moss not pregnantThings are getting serious around the gossip planet! Kate Moss baby bumping is subject to taping lawsuits more than selling magazines! Kate Moss is taking legal action against the U.K. tabloid The News of the World’s claims (from February this year!) that she’d be pregnant! Now that really puts the recession in a new light! Preggies, go in hiding! (WWD)

Kate Moss Covers Vogue Nippon July 2009

Vogue Nippon almost manages a normal cover for their July 2009 cover. That may be because of super Kate Moss covering this issue. Whatever the reason, it’s a pleasant (normal) sight to see!

Kate Moss does a perfect Debbie Harry for this cover. Perfect Blondie hair, perfect Blondie attitude (I bet she wishes she had perfect Blondie voice too!). What I loved about Kate and her Vogue Nippon cover is her un-Moss-ness! She (almost) has her mouth closed! Can you believe it? (photo via)
