Ray-Ban Summer 2009 Collection

Right in the middle of couture Fall Winter ad campaigns, let me bring you a sunnier vision with Ray-Ban’s Summer 2009 Collection! Fearlessly indemodables, a Ray-Ban is the absolute vision must.

I’m a fan of oversized shades but I have that Aviators soft spot for classic Ray-Bans. They never go out of fashion, do they? (the story continues with more images right after the jump!)

Marc Jacobs And Louis Vuitton’s 2009 Bunny Ears Story Ft Madonna

There’s something strange about Marc Jacobs’ design ways! (almost) Everything he touches turns into golden sand castle. But rest assured, there’s no sand castle, be it gold, that’ll hold up to the next season’s sea of trends! So we should be safe from this rabbit-ears infection next year (and, maybe, this year’s LV ad-solarization wouldn’t hit next year’s Ad Campaign also)

Yes, he invents the wheel with every passing season, but it’s not a life-lasting wheel, unfortunately. Marc Jacobs is a prisoner of trends. Trendier he gets, the easier it would be for his followers to get over him.

He goes so well with Juergen Teller’s photo style, it would’ve been impossible not to pair them up: it shines so much and it’s so weirdly catching your attention, you can’t overlook it. (have you noticed that the LV Fall 2009 Ad Campaign looks bizarrely Teller-ish positioned even if its photographer it’s Meisel?) But once you turn the page, Juergen Teller’s photo is long gone from your visual memory! Now let’s give it to Marc Jacobs himself explaining the hows and the whys of Bunny Ears 2009! (and to her Madgesty to do the precious like nobody’s business!) (via)

Christian Astuguevieille For CoutureLab Mini Chairs

Not long ago I was telling you a Lacoste gator-logo story part of an exclusive Campana collaboration. The chairs signed by Christian Astuguevieille for Couturelab remind me of Fernando and Humberto Campana’s furniture design.

These miniature soft sculptures are simple chestnut wood chairs covered in soft, velvet-ish bean bag toys. Only suited for decorative purposes, the handcrafted Christian Astuguevieille Manta Ray and Crabes Langoustes chairs for CoutureLab look considerably friendlier than the Campanas furniture but these miniature too loose their friendly side when it comes down to the price tag! Feel ready to empty your pockets for these lovely limited edition miniature chairs? ($850 each 45x38x53 cm piece) (more images right after the jump!) (via)

Prada Fall Winter 2009 2010 Ad Campaign

Prada doesn’t feel the supers breeze anymore! They went for the domino-models lineup last season and they’re still going models-strong this fall!

Dark waters and crimped hair beauties, the Prada Fall-Winter 2009/2010 ad campaign brings together Anna de Rijk, Julia Hafstrom, Katlin Aas, Kendra Spears, Ymre Stiekema under Steven Meisel’s lenses. (the story continues with more images right after the jump!)

Tattoos And Fashion

I thought I’ve been writing my way around tattoos enough but still there’s room for yet another tattoos and fashion article! This one has been brought to my Inbox attention (thanks, Tim).

I’m sure you’re already familiar with the absolute tackiness of allover branding. The stubborn way of logos sticking to our wardrobe as a warning sign skin deep fashion connaisseurs has now found a way to slip itself under our skin.

Jason Wu Doll For Colette

Jason Wu’s talent has only begun claiming a fair and square fashion spotlight and he’s already working the dream/fantasy side of couture. With his very own catwalk as inspiration, Jason Wu dresses up dolls chez Colette for $300.

Yes, he started out as a doll designer, but this year he received the presidential first dance of approval with the Inauguration Ball dress, so we wouldn’t have seen Jason returning to his old habits. It’s maybe a sign that dolls are indeed running with the fashion gods this season? (Jason Wu has another two dolls in the works: one for Jeffrey New York’s tenth anniversary and a second for a Japanese fashion house). (more images right after the jump!) (via)

Zimmermann Fall Winter 2009 2010

The way ad campaigns are staged, what makes collections tick and tack always drew my curiosity. But you don’t need a Fashion Institute diploma to decipher this Zimmermann fall 2009 lookbook!

It’s all in the blogosphere, baby! That’s where the fashion power lies right now! Low budgets, friendly looks and worldwide appeal! Black see through tights appear to be in fashion, as well as the mini lengths. Overall 80s spiced up with a serious blogosphere flavor, I wish it goes stronger with every passing season! Do you think it looks attractive for the blog-untrained, unfamiliar eye? (via)

I Am Beyond Bags

And, once again, the Kaiser shows us his trend-setting power! I Am Beyond… will soon become the It Bag for this Summer!

Made by I am Beyond a Yoga wear brand, the I Am Beyond bag is part of a charitable program sustaining the Art of Elysium initiative. What makes these bags truly interesting to me is their optimism. The colorful writing on a white bag has something calming and relaxing and the message is… well, beyond optimistic! There’s grateful, there’s happy, there’s loved and lucky, so many attributes we should feel blessed with every day of our bag-wearing life! Which beyond should be yours? (via 1, 2)
