Givenchy Fall Winter 2010 Ad Campaign

Controversy is all upon this Fall Winter 2010 Ad Campaign from Givenchy. And that’s surely not because of Mert and Marcus’ visually perfect (though a bit on the safe/boring side) imagery assembly. Oh, no! It’s the cast!
Bringing together both female and male high profile models would have been what everyone could do. Givenchy has pinched in the salt and the pepper with one particular model from the lineup: Lea T. Formerly known as Leo Cerezo, Lea T. is a transsexual, also happening to be Riccardo Tisci’s personal assistant. This was recorded as officially the first campaign to ever include this genre of model cast and what brought all the fame on Givenchy’s FW 2010 ads. Besides the impeccable aesthetics. What say you? Were we ready to step up after highlighting the black models issue and the plus-sized matter? (via)

Now I know why the world is in love with Naomi Watts. Yes, her acting skills are way above average, but I had some issues with her looks. Something in her was just… not on my alley.
But I’m a victim of our times too and I’m giving in to smoke and mirrors before anything else. I’m sure you were really longing for those Converse news so here it goes: the Spring Summer 2010 collection from Converse brings us an amazing collaboration, hardly to go unnoticed. Missoni dressed up the Chuck Taylor Converse sneaker and the result couldn’t be more charming!
I’m a Missoni fan, you know it, so I’m loving the new Converse by Missoni. Declined in two models, the new beauties come with a $190 price tag and it’s all because of those heartmelting prints! Would you include these brand new Converse in your wishlist?
Diane Kruger Is Calvin Klein Beauty Perfume Spokesface

The mystery of Diane Kruger’s white Met Costume Institute 2010 Gala dress is now revealed: Diane is the latest spokesface of a new perfume from Calvin Klein.
And she’s all dressed in white fronting Calvin Klein’s Beauty ad campaign. This is going in an entirely different direction than Obsession and, why not, it’s a good change of rhythm for CK. Sure, the Eva Mendes campaigns were catchy, but too much of that can prove to affect the brand itself. People weren’t expecting to see such a drastic change so I’m concluding that Diane Kruger and Beauty’s minimal charm, though slightly dull, it’s definitely a good move. Wouldn’t you think? (via)

It doesn’t take to have a Maison Martin Margiela label just to make everyday things turn into bags! Take this wonderful recycling project for instance: Joe Recycled Suit tote signed by Eco Party Mearry.
It’s a simple man suit turned into a bag. The leather handles were also recycled from old leather couches. I think it looks marvelous, quirky and fun, perfect for a stylish twist in every getup. I’d wear it unconditionally, any fashion day (yes, even if it’s fashioned from a man suit), would you? (via)

Piaget debuted a new viral campaign for their special Possessions 20th anniversary. They started out with a classic “guess who” guessing game only the internet was ahead of them on this one.

I’m afraid I just found myself a new obsession: the iPad! Many of you are already au courant with all the negative coverage flow about Apple’s latest gadget. However, I have to draw my personal line here and say just how brilliant I think it actually is!
Just look at this video below! It’s totally my kind of DIY – integrate your iPad in your kitchen cabinet’s door and you’ve got a totally practical, sci-fi kitchen ready to serve you well! With all the time I spend in my kitchen, I could really use some quality interwebs refresh! (especially since we’re the no-TV kind of family) Just say it isn’t wonderful! I dare you! (via)
