Have You Tried Old Navy’s Booty Reader?
August 9th, 2010 by kpriss
If you didn’t you simply don’t know what you’re missing! It’s Old Navy, with a gipsy twist: Madame Eva, the Booty Reader!
Actually it’s a set of rules made to confront a palette of possibilities and then pick up the most fitting result, following some very strict, mathematical principles. What? You would rather hear the gipsy reader read your Booty Type? Eh, I tried to warn you, gals, it’s all programming, rough and simple mathematics, like my Adored Husband would say! Don’t expect to find the perfect jeans read, after all, each and every one of you is beautiful and, Thank God, unique!
What? Okay, okay, I’ll move on, get your booty reading here! (and tell me if it really fits! – I tried and it still pulled me a pair of skinny jeans, amongst others – because, the reader said, it fits an active person best. How about those studies saying that skinny jeans don’t do an inch of good to our vascular system?)
Ready For Lanvin’s Suitcase Honeymoon Set?
August 9th, 2010 by kpriss
We were talking about weddings, a while back, right? What more suitable subject right now than the honeymoon?
Now for those of you who are not in the imminent honeymoon perspective, vacationing will do just fine! Lanvin has this wonderful little suitcase set called the Lanvin Suitcase Honeymoon set waiting for your $740! Yep, for $740 you (don’t get the vacation) get a pareo, sandals and a carrying bag all contained in a matching fully lined canvas suitcase, a patterned tote with an interior pocket. If you’ll notice there’s no bathing suit involved, it’s probably because of the “honeymoon” particle – you don’t go honeymooning with your clothes on, now do you? (via)
Naomi Watts For Ann Taylor Fall 2010 Ad Campaign
August 9th, 2010 by kpriss
Remember the last time we talked about Ann Taylor and their promotional ways? It involved some unnaturally airbrushed images. This time it’s about Naomi Watts. So they had to be extra careful. They even took out the big guns and used Peter Lindbergh for the shooting!
The Fall Winter 2010 2011 ad campaign from Ann Taylor looks cleaner now, more sophisticated and moderately photoshopped. Sure, there seems to be a fair amount of after-work done (especially to Naomi’s face), but we’re willing to let that go, after all, we’re seeing it everywhere. Those marketing people try to sell us wrinklefree perfection, everywhere! Well, I’ve got news for you, guys! Perfection is only achieved by living, experiencing, perseverating. Can you ever achieve anything without frowning? Come on? (don’t miss the behind the scenes video right after the jump!) (via)

Naomi Iman And Liya Cover Essence September 2010
August 9th, 2010 by kpriss
One is enough to make a gorgeous cover, let alone all three goddesses together! Naomi Campbell, Iman, Liya Kebede together on the cover of Essence Magazine, the 40th anniversary issue, September 2010.
Does it get any better than this? (yes, I know, there’s airbrushing, but still, we can see still the beauty within) All that with a cover tagline which doesn’t read, as opposed to the usual boring “fabulous at every age” but “40 fierce and fabulous. Women who are changing the world”. Wouldn’t you want to be fierce and fabulous when you grow up? I now I would! (photo via)
Mikimoto Japan’s Eternal Love Magical Window
August 8th, 2010 by kpriss
You know that my sudden interest for windows displays comes from that sick, morally faible Alexander McQueen window from Selfridges? Ever since that day, I started paying more attention to windows design and what comes with this slippery territory.
It’s a bit like books covers, right? Or magazines covers… It should speak right to your heart, get you in. Take a look at this Mikimoto Eternal Love window display and let your feelings flow with it! I thought it was brilliant, ethereal, perfect! And see those rings popping out of the roses? If I was a rings girl (which I’m not, but we’ll get back to that in the future) – I would have taken out all my rings and carefully place them on roses. They look so natural. And beautiful. And princess-ish…(there’s a problem, though – this Mikimoto Japan window looks so great, I couldn’t leave it and get into the actual store. Could you?) (a29 via jd)
Natalia Vodianova For Hugo Boss Fall 2010 Ad Campaign
August 8th, 2010 by kpriss
Do you think I have an obsession? Over Natalia Vodianova? Naaa.. I think it’s a seasonal thing. She just happens to cover some major ad campaigns for this fall winter 2010 2010. And the Hugo Boss campaign, photographed by Peter Lindbergh is just another reason to highlight Natalia.
As you’ll look at the images, you’ll notice that Natalia doesn’t stand alone in representing Hugo Boss. She’s starring in this campaign alongside Lars Burmeister in a very artsy architectural set. The strictness of shapes, both clothes and décor bring an 80s reference to my mind. Something office-suited and bourgeois. Artsy coworkers in a cold, solitude-filled world. How’s that for campaign slogan? (more images right after the jump, click here for the gallery!) (photos via)
The Must Have Bike Bag For All Biking Fashionistas
August 8th, 2010 by kpriss
What sort of bag you think it’s biking-appropriate? I’ve seen messenger bags for the most ladies who ride their bikes into the wild, wild city. I’ve seen backpacks too, but they’re not as glamorous as handbags, right?
How about this wonderful, eye appealing, bicycle approved and appropriate bag? It was made by a young design student, Saskia Korver and I’m sincerely crossing my fingers for it to go mainstream! Have you seen the looks of it? (Saskia Korver via)
