Cats Fashion Show. Good Or Bad?

And here I was worrying about children beauty pageants! Or skinny jeans for toddlers! (to be perfectly honest I sometimes look at my baby girl – she’s in her mid twos right now – and think she’s swimming in her normal fit jeans. And that’s not because she would be too slim or something, still, skinny jeans for kids won’t cut it for this stubborn pair of parents!) Now have you heard about pets beauty pageants? I’m sure you did. But have you actually witnessed one?

I didn’t. Thank heavens! I would’ve cried my eyes out halfway through. Or fainted as a direct result of all that hysterical laughter. Because, if you’ll hit the jump and see the rest of the images, you’ll understand that a Cats Fashion Show is something you shouldn’t take lightheartedly. Oh, no! It’s serioooous!

The Lipstick Kid Cured By The Karate Kid

There was this comment I read the other day about Gwen’s son manicure and pedicure (besides having bleached hair and Heavens only knows what else). Someone asked what’s wrong with boys looking like girls. That’s really not a question to ask others. That’s something you should ask yourself (should have already done it when it all started). There’s a reason why there are differences between boys and girls, wouldn’t you say?

However, getting back to that boy – like – girl question: there’s an ad campaign that was made to highlight it. Take a look at it and drop your wildest guess on what’s actually about! (the answer right after the jump!)

Alessandra Ambrosio, Gisele Bundchen, Lauren Hutton Cover Love Four

There’s a bit more than Rosie Huntington – Whiteley for Love’s fourth issue. They’ve planned eight different covers, so we’re just halfway through! Aren’t you curious? I definitely am after seeing three more Love magazine covers!

Alessandra Ambrosio joins the bleached eyebrows club, Gisele Bundchen dons her usual super-something pose and Lauren Hutton. Well. Thank heavens for real cover girls still exist! (hit the jump to see all three covers in larger sizes)

Here’s Alek Wek’s New York Apartment!

There’s a little something I came across while doing the Ghesquiere piece: Alek Wek’s New York apartment! Couldn’t resist the temptation!

I really wasn’t expecting to see so many books! And surely wasn’t prepared to see Alek was painting! There’s a big, blue painting apparently made by her in one of the images (you can see brushes and cans around the room, giving away her hobby. Sure, I have no key to decrypting the painting, but I’m not here to judge, I’m here to share a piece of Alek Wek with you. It’s rare to see something that hasn’t been contaminated by professional stylists these days, isn’t it? (hit the jump to see more images from Alek’s NY apartment) (via)

Do you believe all those saying that the modeling bodies come easy? That all they do is hold on to those good genes and they keep their skinny bod forever? Yeah, well I don’t!

It think once you get pass a certain age and a certain life regime, everything comes tumbling down on you unless you’re really careful. That and serious exercise. Whether you do it around the house or in the gym, exercise will keep you in a great shape. Both physically and mentally. Look at these models playing ping pong! They’re having so much fun! (they’re in the SPiN competition, in NY) (via)

Floral Dresses By Mattijs Van Bergen And Anouk Vogel

We’ve seen this concept unraveling before in delicate, intricate constructions, haven’t we? There was something missing, the last time, however. Water. Life.

Now we have the chance to see these amazing flower dresses concepts kept alive by tubes and pipes filled with water. It’s actually a pretty amazing design, given that the dress can actually be flowers-refilled and rearranged. There’s no stopping the imaginative mind and the creative soul. The recycled bicycle inner tubes dresses imagined by fashion designer Mattijs van Bergen and landscape architect Anouk Vogel were made for a very special exhibition “Fashion & Architecture” (July 17th – September 11th 2010, the Amsterdam Centre for Architecture). Now the question is, like Marc Jacobs kindly puts it, where’s the fun in making clothes for museums? Couldn’t we also wear this kind of floral design? Agyness Deyn Back To Modelling

So it appears that Agyness Deyn, fashion’s long lost it girl came back to the land of the working. She just appeared in a fashion spread for V Magazine looking all grunge-y and well… very Agyness and the fashworld already calls it a comeback.

Not that I disapprove to this rock’n’garbage thing (which suits Agyness really well), I just think it’s too soon to call this a comeback. I would have preferred her instead of Rosie for Burberry, so maybe there’s still a chance. What say you? should we initiate a petition to enroll Aggy back in Burberry’s ad campaigns? (via)
