Tom Ford’s Vogue Paris December 2010 January 2011

Tom Ford, the uber designer turned director is gracing the cover of Vogue Paris December 2010 / January 2011. Guest editing the magazine and being photographed by Mert and Marcus for the cover, Tom Ford hides behind Daphne Groeneveld.

Also featuring pictures from his September presented women collection, this issue sounds very interesting and, dare I say, decadent? It’s Vogue Paris, after all, I’m not expecting nuns and doves (except for Lara disguised as a nun, maybe? Where’s Lara, you’re asking? She’s apparently not in. However, rest assured, Carine is faithful to her aesthetics – Daphne is Lara’s 15yo doppelganger. Oh, and there are images inside photographed by Terry. That Terry! Carine Roitfeld, Vogue Paris, Tom Ford, 15yo gorgeous looking Daphne Groeneveld, Terry Richardson. What could possibly go wrong?) (via)

Perfect Bridal Bags By Judith Leiber

Have you noticed an unexplained tendency for sparkle and unusually bright designs / accessories for bridal occasions? Like the bride had dreamed about her wedding day for so long she’s not willing to let it pass without sparkling like a star in the sky? Which is perfectly, totally fine and understandable! Right? As long as we’re wearing our shades!

Joking. Just joking! You know me well by now and you know I have this very, very soft spot for everything, anything related to a wedding! Such a soft spot I can even understand wearing a Judith Leiber bejeweled bridal bag! The first ones to hit the press were the cake shaped bag and the flowers basked shaped bag. I wonder what shoes go with those bags! (WWD via)

Perfect Gift For Photography Passionates

There’s the season, love and understanding… and gifting dilemmas! I always feel the need. Scratch that: the imperative urge to ask people what they want as gift for a special occasion / anniversary or even for Christmas. Sure, that spoils the fun and the surprise, but I’d risk that rather than seeing my gift being regifted or forgotten in some dark corner without being useful to anyone.

Long story short (how do you find the appropriate gift?) – the perfect gift for the amateur or professional photographer comes in the shape of a Lens bracelet! What? you think it’s weird? Wait till you dig the actual photography tools – you’ll see how useless your memory really is and what a blessing the point and shoot autofocus cameras really are!

Wide Leg Jeans: Hip Or Hippie?

Walking the fashstreet of the interwebs, my heart was immediately drawn to the image you’ll find below. Not because I’m dreaming of hot summer days. No. Ok, maybe a little that too. Mostly because of the jeans. Wide leg jeans. I love them so!

I think there’s an above-the-trends quality to them, something that skinny jeans will never raise up to. Though I won’t deny my normally skinny self a pair of good fitting skinny jeans paired with towering heels, wide leg jeans own my heart. They’re wide enough to hide a shamefully good meal, they’re impossibly comfortable and, if picked well (and worn well), they’re stunningly stylish. Now looking at the image below (and wide leg jeans examples you might have in your head), what do you think : wide leg jeans are hip or hippie? Cast your vote after the image! Miranda Kerr’s Pregnant Vogue Australia January 2011

Come on, be opened about it: you missed a good baby bump story here, didn’t you? What? the W Miranda Kerr episode earlier? It’s nothing, compared to a Vogue cover, really!

Think about it: Miranda didn’t do the Victoria’s Secret show this year because she’s pregnant. If Miranda didn’t do it, then no other Australian model was invited to walk the VS catwalk. Well, too bad for them! Here’s Miranda in all her pregnant splendor (she’s six month and half on this cover) doing Vogue Australia, January 2011. Given that it’s summer in Australia, we’re willing to forgive the off season disturbance and openly applaud beautiful Miranda. (I still can’t believe I’m talking about January magazines already! I wish we’d have an eternal December moment – Christmas after Christmas after Christmas every month!) (photos via)

Proenza Shouler PS1 Bag Short Movie

Don’t you just hate it when something that was good and perfect gets either reedited or revamped or reworked, reinterpreted into something totally, absolutely and completely loath-able?

That’s what happened to me when I saw what Proenza Schouler did for her PS1 bag. The black patent edition. Remember how ecstatic I was about this gorgeous bag a while back? I still am. Only now I have to erase the memory of having watched such a horrific short film made for the launch of the black patent PS1. And because I’m suffering, I’m asking your help – is there a positive perspective to this short advertorial? (Style via)

Rihanna Thinks Bloggers Don’t Have A Life

Do you ever think that our beloved celebrities actually take the time to read the gazillion columns written about them? I always thought this happened more like an assistant routine: someone especially designated to read all that’s been written about them all day, every day and, eventually, make a report about it, which, eventually, gets tossed in a corner, somewhere for the busy celeb to read. Some day. One day.

As (pleasantly) surprised as I was about Rihanna saying that she actually reads blogs, I had to switch on the sad side since she’s going as low as to think all bloggers are alike:

“a community for people who don’t have anything else to do and hate themselves, they hate their life, they hate their job, they hate their appearance, they are uncomfortable with who they are […]”.

Pretty biased, eh, Riri? (via, photo via)

Missoni ToyWatch Limited Edition Collection

Missed a good Missoni moment? I honestly had! I’m so curious how every Missoni collaboration turns out and I’m always pleasantly surprised by the outcome. It’s always stylish and distinguished. Or so it seems to me.

The new Missoni do is a watches collection. Made with ToyWatch, the new limited edition wrist watches come across as joyful but also fit for a lady with their fabric bracelets-cum-scarves. I wish I had some more information about the collection (especially about the prices and the availability – I’m sure they won’t come under $1,000, however) – all we have for now is that only 250 pieces were made from each edition (six Missoni dressed ToyWatches models, three colors for each model). Now this is the moment where I ask myself if I love the Hermes double strap, the Burberry three strap watch more than this happy zig-zag Missoni ToyWatch (a girl can dream, now, can’t she?)… What about you, where does you loyalty stands?
