Boyfriend Jeans Still In For 2010?

Season and season again we ask ourselves if the most coveted trends and styles will be forgotten in the blink of an eye! And the question is indeed a good one for most of the “it” fades away, getting filed under “sooo last season” once a new collection comes along.

Why can’t we hold on to trends? Why won’t we? I know I’m faithful to some lines and shapes and not because they’re in (or out for the same matter) but because they suit me. Because my style means more than seasonal fashion. How about yours? (the story continues right after the jump with the boyfriend jeans dilemma!)

When the boyfriend jeans madness begun (remember Current/Elliott?) my spirit didn’t felt the excitement of the new it. Seeing the bagginess and the lack of silhouette of the rolled up boyfriend jeans made my head swirl. I treasure comfy pieces, you know, but I also think they should flatter one’s figure, not hide away under the “it” mask. And that rolled up boyfriend jeans did just that! In my head, it was all perfect for a fishing trip, not the catwalk! Many thought different. But I kept wearing my old jeans without giving a second thought!

Summer came and with it along came my favorite summer pants: the (very) wide leg, (very) low waist linen pants. Like these ones:

Bought those years ago from H & M and worn them good. After all this time, they’re still faithful. And I treasure every inch of’em!

Months have passed and even if I cared about the new trends (and even bought one of those lightly flared leg jeans, courtesy of my Adored Husband) I still didn’t put much time or effort into finding the best suited it. I was looking for something that would fit just like my beloved summer pants do! Flattering, comfy, my dream jeans were an almost identical version of the above pictured trousers. When I set that target in my head, I had no idea how hard it’ll be to reach it!

But then, to make the long story short, I’ll skip right to the happy ending! I found the right pair! The one that was made for me! And it’s a boyfriend fit! Found them in one of those sales racks, sleeping under the “last chance” display. And they were just that! My last chance of finding the dream fit jeans! So I righteously ask thee: by any chance is the boyfriend cut (proudly shown by me below) still in? I will continue wearing them even if your answer is a negative one, but still, my inner fashionista is starving with curiosity: have I reached the IT point? I am with you Kpriss. I go with the style and cuts that I like and that suit me, not what the ‘gurus’ say. I like boyfriend jeans, they are chilaxing and comfy.

I am with you both. I don’t even care what the new jeans trend is. I like boyfriend jeans too. For the same reason as you both. I’m still looking for new jeans. Well, I look now and then because I need new ones since ages and there’s nothing I hate so much as shopping for new jeans! And all these teen shop assistants tells me: “this is the new trend mrs what you want is out….”….pfff…..
Alas I’ve missed the last sales since I had a bruised foot…:((
