Noir DC Comics Jewelry Collection, Perfect Gift For DC Comics Fans

With few more days until Christmas I have to ask myself if I covered everyone on the list, check twice if they all get their assigned presents. This DC Comics jewelry collection from Noir Jewelry has me thinking about the next installment of Batman (yes, Christopher Nolan seems to have had already begun the work on the next movie of the franchise). What? no, I’m not betraying the Pirates, it’s an Inception thing!

Getting back to the DC Comics collection: haven’t you always dreamed of a Batman shaped cuff? Or a Supergirl necklace? Or a Catwoman claw? Oh, if only in those rhodium or gunmetal brass plated pieces would lie the secret powers the DC Comics heroes had! Who was your favorite hero? Whose powers you wanted to have? (I wanted to have Flash Forward’s skills – imagine how fast you’d perform all those daily chores!) (via)

Melissa Zaha Hadid Giant Shoes From German Museum

A reputed architect like Zaha Hadid only does extraordinary things. Her collaboration with Melissa shoes a while back spawned a pretty remarkable shoe, a strange and unique perspective over the footwear.

If I understood that only looking with my highly amateur eye, Die Neue Sammlung (Nuremberg, Germany), the first museum entirely dedicated to the history of design acknowledged how special Zaha Hadid’s shoes for Melissa really are by making them part of their permanent exhibition.

The 13ft (4meters) tall shoes join an impressive installation of 80,000 items from different areas of design (industrial design, graphic design, object design) so if you’re the proud owner of such a pair (in smaller, biensur), it’s like you were wearing a Van Gogh of shoes! (do you? Own a pair?) (via)

Gemma Ward, Tamara, The Cranky Mermaid From P.O.T.C. 4 On Stranger Tides

It must be one of those rare occasions when I’m impatiently waiting for the Holidays season to be over. In fact, I’m waiting for it to be May 2011 over! That’s how over I want it right now. Riiight now! (if I sound like a 5 feet 6yo, it’s not my fault – it’s Disney’s and its brilliant’s Pirates of the Caribbean! And Johnny Depp’s!)

We’ve all been hearing rumors about the gorgeous Gemma Ward not returning to the fashion industry cradle but instead choosing the Hollywood path. Well, there we have it – the confirmation that she is, indeed, going rogue on us! She’s a certified actress, starring alongside Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz in the fourth installment of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean – On Stranger Tides! (don’t miss the trailer – if you haven’t already seen it – and even if you did, it doesn’t hurt watching it again – it’s right after the jump!)

UPDATE: Watch Gemma singing the Pirate Song after the jump!

Caroline And Masha For Marc Jacobs Spring Summer 2011 Ad Campaign

I actually liked Marc Jacobs’ sartorial perspective over the Spring Summer 2011 season. I thought it was fancy, funny and full of energy. Did I mention wearable? Well, that too!

For some reason I was hoping something else rather than Juergen Teller for that beautiful collection’s ad campaign. Looking at Caroline Brasch Nielsen and Masha Kirsanova in these advertorial images wearing Juergen’s signature and Marc Jacobs’ clothes, all I can think of is Taxi Driver overdosing on effervescent vitamins. It’s an old, thrown in your face kind of kitschy glam only Juergen and Marc could have pulled off and still be called fashionable and uber stylish. Do you think there’s someone out there who’d make a better lens – couple with Marc Jacobs’ inspiration? (photos via)

Carine Roitfeld Quits Vogue Paris. Where Is She Going? Who Took Her Place?

Today some pretty amazing piece of news hit the interwebs! For the unprepared, this would seem totally harmless and normal. For the fashpeople, it’s a tragedy! Carine Roitfeld has stepped down from the Vogue Paris throne!

Where is she going then? Who’d be taking her place? Those are the questions popping in everyone’s fashminds. The fashpeople stress out. Do you think she’ll be taking Vogue US? (I doubt her aesthetics match the US market, sincerely)

Kim Kardashian Watches

Another one bites the fame endorsement dust! Actually it’s not another – it’s the same ol’ entrepreneur Kardashian – Kim who’d be selling the sand beneath her feet if only she could. And maybe, some day (if you’ll be nice enough), she would!

So what’s Kim Kardashian been up to lately? Well she got herself into watches by collaborating with Brissmor and creating (ahem) a 24 – pieces collection. With names like “the Dallas” and “the London”, “the Beverly Hills” and “the Paris”, one can only safely assume that she’s in for a long city run. After all, she only got as far as seven cities thus far (each declined in 3 variations) plus a country (the Italy). If it’s not worn on your lower back side, Kim, I’m afraid it won’t catch the much deserved attention!

Also, if it doesn’t enhance your lips or your behind with every tick tack, it could prove to be a frail business venture. What kind of product would you expect Kim to release next? (KK signature watches via)

Lanvin Musical Bride Snowball Is Waiting For You This Christmas

… at a luxury store near you! And if you’re a sucker for snowballs, like many of us are, you’d be delighted to add this Lanvin Musical Bride snowball to your collection.

Much more impressive than the cotton python bag we talked about earlier, the snowball actually is as funny as it gets (and as kitschy – but in a snowball-ish forgiven kind of kitschy way). Plus it’s the season – think about it this way – if you don’t want the teeny couture wonder for yourself, then consider it for a very special friend who missed out on the best pieces from the Lanvin Loves H & M collection! It’s the closest you’ll get to a H & M Lanvin price ($200)!
