Audrey Marnay’s Miu Miu Powder Room Short Film By Zoe Cassavettes

The latest from the house of Miu Miu is a video directed by Zoe Cassavettes starring Audrey MarnayThe Powder Room. I’ll do my best to keep a positive eye on the situation, but the truth is that this short video is pretty special in its own right.

Part of a series commissioned by the house of Miu Miu, The Powder Room is just one of the videos directed by female directors for the fashion label. Honestly, I would much rather see an animation, in the Prada kind, than this … It simply puts that YSL Opium banned ad to shame! I’m so curious, if you’ll watch it, what your take is on the matter! I’m having a hard time seeing the fashion in it!

Kanye West By Karl Lagerfeld For V Man Spring 2011

This was too good to miss! Kanye West on the cover of Visionaire’s VMan Magazine, the 21st issue, Spring 2011. And it’s not just Kanye being Kanye on the cover, it’s Kanye being photographed by Karl Lagerfeld. And that’s a biggie, even for Kanye!

Especially those hundred dollar bills coming out of his mouth? Sheer style and pure genius! Just when you thought Kanye can’t go any further into trying so desperately to shock the life out of us, there he goes again, with one of his most ridiculous poses yet. Too bad the Kaiser was involved!

Christian Louboutin Spring Summer 2011 Ad Campaign

Magic! That’s what this is! Pure, undiluted, 100% magic! It’s all just marketing, I know, and still – the new Christian Louboutin Spring Summer 2011 Ad Campaign is something pretty special you should all take a look!

Photographer: Khuong Nguyen. Starring the legendary red soled shoes, the campaign is a rampant declaration of shoes love. Water, ice, air disco fever, there’s a little something for every fairy dreaming soul out there. Even if you’re not particularly enjoying the Louboutins, you’ll fall for this campaign. Because it speaks to your inner child. And that, my daaahlings, is something not even a Geevencheee hanging in your closet can do! (photos via)

Prada Spring Summer 2011 Dancing Ad Campaign

This past week was definitely about dancing. Celebrating, yes, but in a fashion key! Prada’s Spring Summer 2011 Ad Campaign is a funny, joyful one and I’m happy they went for this kind of ad for the upcoming season.

I already liked their Spring Summer 2011 collection, I thought it was fun and joyful (yes, I’m aware I’m repeating myself, but that’s how things really are) and now the fashion world embraces it fully and thoroughly. Green is the new white, remember? If you enjoyed the little piece of music – it’s Ratatat‘s Mirando. Not the most joyful video out there, a far cry from the Prada campaign, but if you want to, you can watch it here.

Embrace The Negative Style

And turn it to positive with just a smile! You know, when I first saw this image, I thought that it simply has to go up for your enjoyment also!

It has that spark of inspiration, on the funny and adorable side, that you just can’t resist it! A cute little girl, a cute little dog facing the cold, black on white, negativity. What else can you do but smile? Have a wonderful, wonderful week, everyone! And thank you for being with me! (photo via)

Vanity Fair’s Young Hollywood Issue, March 2011

Have you noticed the latest, hottest magazine issue in town? It’s Vanity Fair’s Young Hollywood issue! The March 2011 cover of Vanity Fair‘s one and only Hollywood issue is a work of art in itself.

Photographed by Norman Jean Roy and starring the very promising new wave of H actors (from left to right): Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway, James Franco (that’s the main cover, actually, as it unfolds, there goes another set of brilliant newcomers) Jennifer Lawrence, Anthony Mackie, Olivia Wilde, Jesse Eisenberg, Mila Kunis (and there we go for another unfold) Robert Duvall (the bartender), Joseph Gordon Levitt, Andrew Garfield, Rashida Jones, Garrett Hedlund, Noomi Rapace.

Also: I’m assuming the lion cub ate Olivia Wilde’s dress? (click the picture for larger image; and don’t forget to check out the video right after the jump; more about the cover over at Vanity Fair)

Thierry Mugler’s Men FW 2011 2012 Gaga Extravaganza

You remember we talked about this – the styling of Thierry Mugler’s Fall Winter 2011 2012 collection as envisioned by Nicola Formichetti. It’s hardly something we can overlook. With a little help from the very extraordinary Lady Gaga, Mugler‘s catwalk was a little bit more noire than black and the models were a little bit more gloom than tragic.

I try to look at this collection from a TV – perspective – like it would be the fashion statement of the very Addams Family. And then it all becomes funny and likable.

Also – I wonder how many young men out there will adopt the look of the season – the all sans skin tattoo? hmmm

Lauren Hutton’s Alexis Bittar Spring Summer 2011 Ad Campaign

Each time I see an image of Lauren Hutton promoting fashion, I feel in the mood for smiling. Because she’s so beautiful and because people still love her, after all this time! She truly is an inspiration (especially when there’s no Photoshop involved)!

And we’ll be seeing so much more of her this year for she’s starring in the 2011 Spring Summer ad campaign for Alexis Bittar‘s beautiful and bold jewelry. Only one official image has been released so far but after the jump you’ll find two additional pictures from the website, screen caps from the photo shooting.

Also – I’d like to be like Lauren Hutton when I grow up! (I say that a lot, don’t I?) (Alexis Bittar via)
