Roses Wedding Dress
May 8th, 2011 by kpriss
How much do you love roses? A little? A little more? A little too much? Because I think Badgley Mischka’s Susannah Blush Wedding dress from the Badgley Mischka Spring 2012 Bridal Collection qualifies for the latter. (yes, I came across it while doing the double – bridal gown thing so I had to get it out of my chest!)
I love me some roses too, I do! On hairbands, brooches, any kind of hair accessories, necklaces or belts. But a wedding dress (or any other dress) made of roses? How does it look? Would you wear it? (I only see tons of hair bands embedded on a skirt, so pardon me if I come across as a bit biased) (photo via)
DSquared Two Kartell Philippe Starck Chair
May 5th, 2011 by kpriss
At the recent Design Week in Milan, Kartell celebrated with the help of few fashion designers extraordinaires who unveiled their Kartell vision.
Dean and Dan Caten from DSquared2 will surely impress you with their vision of the Masters chair by Phillip Starck. It’s truly a work of… natural art that the twin brothers presented to the world in this exhibition which pays tribute to the city of Milan by involving native personalities into special projects. I’m so curious how they preserved the leaves in those (young?) maples! The chair is truly beautiful and I would love to have one in my garden! (if only there would be a way to mold a similar design without cutting off the trees / branches!) (Viacom via)

Dr Martens Clothing Collection For Women And Men. How About It?
May 5th, 2011 by kpriss
So have you heard that Dr. Martens just launched a clothing collection? Yes, it’s true! From now on, you can also buy clothes from the iconic boots brand!
Just like their legendary shoes, the clothes are also inspired from work attires and unisex pieces are the key word and design of their new collection. With prices ranging from $50 to $110, the collection is already available online and through your usual Dr. Martens store. I think it’s a great initiative and the looks fit the spirit of the brand so far. Do you think they’ll venture more into designing clothes and accessories or just stick to the basics? Victoria’s Secret Destroy Policy
May 5th, 2011 by kpriss
Remember how we felt last year after the news about H & M destroying their unsold merchandise? And how the brand itself repositioned itself and organized charity instead of mass destroying clothes?
How about we join forces and push the Victoria’s Secret people into the same practices? Because, as far as the latest news go, their policy is to destroy the unsold, returned merchandise. Now why don’t you put those scissors to good cause and remove any brand related tag on those unsold products and donate them to people who may really need them? Charity is good! Destroying is bad!
Jessica Alba’s Piaget Ad Campaign
May 5th, 2011 by kpriss
Expectant mother Jessica Alba doesn’t waste a moment of her precious lucrative time. She’s now the face of Piaget with whom she teamed up for an advertorial season as the spokesface of their latest Possession collection.
Styled by the infamous Brad Goreski and photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, Jessica Alba was longtime the subject of a Piaget guessing game. Now that the riddle has ended and the Piaget Possessions ambassador has been revealed, we’re impatiently waiting for more images from the ad campaign. So far, the looks are surprisingly different and that is something I appreciate, even though I appreciate Jessica in her light, romcom roles more than in her dark approaches of the theatrical (see Sin City). She’s way prettier when she smiles, isn’t she? (more images right after the jump as well as a behind the scenes video; Piaget via)

Wedding Dress With Belt And Bolero. Badgley Mischka Bridal
May 5th, 2011 by kpriss
Talking about Anja Rubik not long ago and how she would change three times during her wedding (that would mean, in my perspective, three wedding dresses, right?) made me think about this particular wedding dress from Badgley Mischka’s Spring 2012 Bridal Collection.
It’s called Laura and it can be worn three ways. And in my opinion it doesn’t mean it can be considered a different dress each time you attach an accessory to it. With a crystal belt or without crystal belt, the wedding dress is pretty much the same to my eyes. It’s the bolero that may alter something in perspective, heightening the cut a bit. Do you think this qualifies as a three – dresses – in – one? The same goes for the Anastacia gown which you’ll find right after the jump, with a two – dresses – in – one. (it’s not me saying that, as I already stated, I think it’s pretty much the same dress, with or without belt or bolero; however, someone saw three dresses in Laura by Badgley Mischka)
Met Gala 2011 – Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty
May 4th, 2011 by kpriss
2011 marks an anniversary I wish we would never had (at least not so early): 1 year has passed since Alexander McQueen’s death. Consequently, events have been rolled to commemorate the designer and his amazing sartorial work.
One of the most important celebrations is graced by the Metropolitan Museum of Art through the Costume Institute Exhibition: Alexander Mcqueen – Savage Beauty. Traditionally, every year, a Met Gala occurs, to mark the debut of the said exhibition. Every name and major personality in fashion is there on the big Met Ball night. And this is my view on the Met Gala 2011. (click through to discover the rest)

Kirsten Dunst Floral Sequined Chanel Couture Dress Met Gala 2011
May 4th, 2011 by kpriss
Oh, my! Have I told you about Kirsten Dunst’s 2011 Met Gala dress? It was Anna Wintour’s sequined Chanel Couture which brought Kirsten’s gown to mind. Because, as opposed to Anna’s classic, toned down Chanel, Kirsten’s floral sequined Chanel Couture dress extravaganza was really strange to look at.
Too sequined, too floral, too much! Kirsten, you’re a lovely young lady, what has gotten into you to wear this dress? The craftsmanship work that has been invested in this dress surely is impressive, but it just looks so much like a flowers embroidered doily! Doesn’t it? And the shoes? Oh, my! So, so wrong!
