i – D Saskia De Brauw This Winter!
November 8th, 2011 by kpriss
The Winter Warm Up Issue continues with yet another magically retro cover! This time with Saskia de Brauw whose unconventionally edgy beauty demands special attention when it comes to styling and photography.
Daniel Jackson managed a perfectly 80s pose and feel with Saskia for the cover of i – D! I’m so loving this issue’s covers, I could easily frame them and post them on an artsy wall! This is how printed fashion is really done, take notes, fashmagazines people! (more to follow!)
Tom Ford Talking About Himself. And Fashion. And More
November 8th, 2011 by kpriss
Last week, the very coveted beauty collection by Tom Ford was launched at Bergdorf Goodman. And, knowing the excessively controlling Mr. Ford, he was there for the launch. Which is perfectly normal. He is a man of fashion, a man of the world, he has to be everywhere where his name appears on a product label. And that’s why (partly) women desperately love him.
Because he appears to be a very focused man, a driven individual who knows exactly what he wants, when he wants it and how he wants it (hmmm… wait! That’s not Tom Ford? That’s my Adored Husband I’m talking about!). Although if we remember what he said a while back about him being extremely shy and introspective, all this is just the image of a perfect man he has projected out in the world. (I’ve got the real deal, not the commercial Hologram of a man. But that’s another story altogether!). In support of all written earlier, here’s a little fragment of an interview I would like you to read (here) I think you’ll find funny and interesting, perfectly for a fashionable distraction:
“I was born fifty. When I was five years old, I wanted to be fifty. I knew exactly what I was going to look like, exactly what I was going to be doing. […] I always wanted to be fifty. I never felt like a little kid. I wanted to be at my parents’ cocktail parties. I wanted to live in a glamorous apartment. […] I’m perfectly happy. I could die tomorrow.”

Jourdan Dunn Is Flawless On The Cover Of i-D Winter 2011
November 8th, 2011 by kpriss
Although I was considering the yellow nail polish a summer staple, I now have to look at it from another angle. The i – D angle!
Jourdan Dunn is simply stunning on the cover of i – D, the winter warm up issue no 316! Her retro styling had me breathless! Alasdair McLellan really did an outstanding job by photographing this beauty for the cover of i – D magazine! (more covers on the way, stay tuned! It’s rainin’ covers day!)
Oh, Dakota, What Have You Done?
November 8th, 2011 by kpriss
You might have noticed (and even if you didn’t, no worries, I’m here to remind you about it) that the infamously scandalous Terry Richardson has found no place for his “work” here. Sadly, like I was saying earlier, fashion picks on all kind of wrongs to highlight as right.
He’s one of the wrongs. (there may be others, however, as I’m not aware of their doings and their names I can’t point my finger). Despite of anyone saying anything about who he really is and what he really does, he keeps on being a “famed” fashion photographer. One of his latest “models” is the sweet, beautiful Dakota Fanning. Which he used for yet another cliché allusive photo session. Oh, Dakota, honey, why?
Drew Barrymore’s Hair Goes Back To Ombre. Should We Ombre Hair Too?
November 8th, 2011 by kpriss
Longtime considered a proof of deteriorated hair, lighter colored hair ends is now living a high fashion moment. It’s been happening for a year now and I kept my eyes closed to this two toned haircolor. Firstly because I stubbornly refuse to dye my hair and secondly because, as previously said, hair that is darker towards the roots and lighter towards the ends always indicated bad hair in desperate need of trimming.
However, sometimes fashion picks on all the wrong things to become a trend (remember all that fetish thing going on, all the underwear worn as proper clothing to name just two wrongs made right by fashion standards). Which brings me to…Drew Barrymore, one of my favorite actresses.
She has this amazingly cute smile I can’t do otherwise but smile back at her (/picture). Earlier this year, Drew had dyed her hair red. Red – ish. And we love redhaired beauties around here (wink). Now Drew just got back to her brown – to dark – blond two toned ombré haircolor (she used to sport this before – see after the jump – she even went for a black tips do once!). Should we follow?
Makeup Case Must Have Karl Lagerfeld For Sephora
November 8th, 2011 by kpriss
This is why we love Karl so much! Besides sticking his fashionable pony tail in anything and everything, he adds that “je-ne-sais-quoi” to whatever he touches that it makes you want to have it. Right. Now!
More I look at this Karl Lagerfeld pour Sephora makeup box, more I want to have it. Not to use it – no, no, no! But to stare at it indefinitely, smiling bright every time I see the Kaiser in wonderful shades of beige, blue or gray! He looks better in gray. And black! (rumor has it that there’s an entire makeup collection in the works – even nail polish!)
Oh, and speaking of black – check out the amazing snow globe with Karl Lagerfeld inside! Paired with one of der Kaiser’s witty sayings, the snow globe just made it on top of my Christmas list! I can’t say the same about the Lagerfeld Doll, also part of the Sephora collection – I like the Kaiser Teddy Bear more…(now for the sad part – the collection is available only at Sephora Europe and Singapore. Sigh!)
“My biggest luxury is not having to answer to anyone.” – that’s what the snow globe reads. Oh, Karl, you’re so good, you sweat glitter!

Candice Swanepoel Looking Great With Curly Hair
November 7th, 2011 by kpriss
More famous for her unusually thin waist, Candice Swanepoel is holding the fashion front chin up, piling up on magazine pictorials and glamorous ad campaigns. Her beautiful smile and her rare blue – gray eyes make an appearance in the November 2011 issue of Vogue Brasil only to surprise us more and assure us of her model – versatility!
We’re used to seeing Candice Swanepoel waif thin, wearing as little as a VS bathing suit, passing her fingers through her straight blond locks. Well, my curled hair sisters, here’s Candice photographed by JR Duran with a beautiful head full of golden curls! Isn’t she adorable?
Dare To Wear A Necklace In Your Hair Like Sarah Jessica Parker?
November 7th, 2011 by kpriss
Notoriously recognized as one of the most courageous and stylish trendsetters, Sarah Jessica Parker was recently photographed at a horse competition event wearing a less common hair accessory.
And we know she likes her hair accessories big and interesting, don’t we? However, this last one doesn’t look like a classical Philip Treacy to me! Sarah Jessica Parker was wearing a hair piece strikingly similar to a necklace! Or a tiara on the side. It’s hard to classify it as I’m not really familiar with this kind of hair accessory. Hit the jump for more!
