Katy Perry’s New Boyfriend: Baptiste Giabiconi
March 13th, 2012 by kpriss
Courting the Fashion World was not without success, it would appear, at least not for Katy Perry! (and I’m not talking freebies here!) Katy may be sans husband, but she found herself a pretty boyfriend, a mighty fashionable one! Karl Lagerfeld’s boy toy… ahem protégé, Baptiste Giabiconi is Katy Perry’s boyfriend. And like der Kaiser says: “I’m happy when Baptiste is happy.”
Jourdan Dunn’s Perfect Pose For Demarchelier, Vogue April 2012
March 13th, 2012 by kpriss
Jourdan Dunn is one of my favorite models today. She has this quiet grace, a gentle way of being beautiful and modest in the same time! (I’ll always favor models with that extra something – something that’ll make you want to look at them beyond the catwalk or the next advertising poster)
Vogue US April 2012 (yes, the one with Jennifer Lopez on the cover) seems to hide all kinds of treasures within – if we’re to judge after this quick instagram of Jourdan Dunn. The pose is perfect, the Victoria Beckham dress is so fit on her, it looks painted on, not worn! And the amazing image composition is signed by Patrick Demarchelier. I think there’s more fashion beauty in this image than in the entire majestic cover!
Karlie, Saskia, Aymeline, Daria Do Numero By Lagerfeld
March 12th, 2012 by kpriss
You know, Karl Lagerfeld, pretty much like air, is everywhere around us. From the Paris Fashion Week catwalk to the beverages in your fridge, the glasses in your kitchen and so much more, Karl Lagerfeld has photographed some of his favorite models for Numero 131, Neo Couture.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering where does the Neo – come from, think no further than Neo-n! Neon lights, haute couture, it’s a notoriously acclaimed match. I fully admire, however, Lagerfeld’s ability to work with other designer clothes (other than what he designed) and his capacity to go beyond his perspective and always keep a fresh eye on things. (talking about eye – notice the elongated cat eye makeup? Kaiser approved!) Karlie Kloss is gorgeous, as are Aymeline Valade, Daria Strokous and Saskia De Brauw! I wonder if Anja wasn’t available for this pictorial, I would’ve loved seeing her do couture!

What Would The Joker Wear?
March 12th, 2012 by kpriss
Well, the Joker would most certainly try his winning hands with Junya Watanabe. Whimsical but also elegant, Junya Watanabe has everything the Joker needs in order to make a strike. A good fashion strike! I don’t know about you, but I’m certainly curious to see more heroes on the catwalk! So please, Mr. John Woo, more fashion?
Rihanna’s New Armani Jeans And Underwear Campaign Video
March 12th, 2012 by kpriss
So now we can all see Rihanna in another Armani Jeans / Armani Underwear ad campaign. And she’s no different than what we saw last in that all jeans outfit: pretty, controversial. I will not even tell you how the video unfolds; you’ll have to see it for yourself.
I’ll say just this: (I love the lingerie, biensur) I’m curious where and when will Rihanna stop. This good girl gone bad thing is going a bit too far now. And as the business grows, so will her loneliness… But, enough of that morning philosophy, let’s check out the ad campaign! (and don’t be shy, share your thoughts after watching it!)
Congrats To Felicity Huffman And Husband William H Macy For Their Stars
March 12th, 2012 by kpriss
I know we don’t usually talk about things like that (unless they come with a McQueen label – wink), but this a good picture to kick – start a new week: the funny couple Felicity Huffman and husband William H. Macy just received their stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame sidewalks. Congrats are in order! Now, can you beat William H. Macy’s Shameless (wink) fashion pose on that one? (more images from the ceremony here)
Interview: Sarah Burton By Sarah Jessica Parker
March 12th, 2012 by kpriss
Remember I said something about this Interview issue and about its amazing content? Which included, as the Katy Perry cover announced it, a very special interview of Sarah Burton by Sarah Jessica Parker?
I read it! (and so can you, if you visit Interview’s website here) And it’s beautiful! It’s a beautiful interview about a beautiful woman, doing a beautiful work! Sarah Burton seems so gentle and modest and at the time she’s such a gifted designer and incredibly talented overall! Here’s a little fragment that pretty much sums what I feel about the house of McQueen:
[…] I think what’s amazing about McQueen and what was amazing about Lee was that he created this process where it was never really about fashion. It was always about a feeling and telling a story. And I think he sort of trained us all— trained me—to try to tell a story and to find a world that doesn’t necessarily relate to what everybody else is doing and to believe in your own instincts. And that went for everything. Lee really did believe in creating things that were unique to him and very special to the house. A lot of the prints and embroideries and jacquards are specifically designed not just for the collection, but for each garment.

What Would Superman Wear?
March 12th, 2012 by kpriss
This – you guessed it right – hints back at one of the most iconic books / movies of our generation: Fight Club. Because it’s that kind of subversive culture (wink) as imagined by John Woo. So what would Superman wear if he had the catwalk at his disposal (not that he wouldn’t! I mean, after all, he’s Superman, duh!). Superman would wear D & G! (now if he could also bring back D&G, that’d be fabulous!)
