My dahlings! I’m rarely so excited about fashion magazines – actually the last time I went up the walls for a Vogue number, was about Kate Moss’ wedding. That flawlessly inspiring moment in the absolute Queen of Fashion’s life that got as all ‘awww!’ together!
I was saying something about Vogue Spain December 2012 cover being amazing? Flawless? Beyond words? Wait till you see the actual pictorial! And the entire issue! It’s a Mario Testino special and they went over the Moon and back and then some to make it outstanding. 456 pages of sheer fashion delight. Oh, how I wish I had this issue in my hands! It’s so, so beautiful, I can’t find the right words to describe it! (hit the jump to see the rest or go for the gallery, here!)

We’ve been warned: Doutzen Kroes’ Vogue Nederland December 2012 cover doesn’t look all that pretty. Actually.. it is. Pretty. But in a weird way. I like the natural makeup, I even like the dress. But I think they could’ve done so much better!
I had hopes the inside pictorial would look brighter. More fashionable. But I think Vogue Nederland wanted to play the simplicity card this time. Patrick Demarchelier photographed Doutzen for the cover story pictorial but halfway from the actual snapping of the image to the printing, something happened with Doutzen’s smile! The cover still pulls it alright, but if you click the jump (or see the gallery here), you’ll see there’s definitely something fishy going on!

It seems that Kate Moss is finally regaining her supreme model status with yet another flawless magazine cover. Vogue Spain December 2012 as photographed by Mario Testino has every reason to be considered as one of the most beautiful covers in the past few months. Globally.
I for one, think very highly of this image / collector issue cover choice. Still looks like Kate, the post – retouch team has been kind on her (and on us), the writing and the fonts colors are perfectly integrated in the final cover (assuming that this is also the newsstand cover), really a lesson for all the other Vogue editions out there! Well done, Yolanda Sacristan!

You might have noticed that although the notorious CFDA / Vogue Fashion Fund Awards happened this week, I completely skipped the fashion event. Why – one would ask, given that I’m such a fan of the Red Carpet fashion moments?
Well, I had a strange feeling about this entire happening. And – although I know that all fashion things are mostly smoke and mirrors, I voluntarily decided to hold back any CFDA Vogue thingie until I cleared my suspicions. (and to think I only watched a couple of episodes from Elementary! wink). Now that the fashion waters have regained their stillness, I can share my feelings with you: (do hit the jump, it may blow your fashionable mind! Or not… but you won’t know until you read it all – wink)

Edward Cullen is back. Well, almost. But for the legions of fans camping outside the theaters, getting ready for the Breaking Dawn premiere, he’s the closest to a God as (in)humanly possible.
We can only observe and note what the second part of Twilight’s last episode: Breaking Dawn can do to Twihards and move on. However, Robert Pattinson’s pictorial for L’Uomo Vogue is a Goth – length away from the Cullen aesthetic. So I had to bring it on. Because, honestly, it reminded me more of The Pirates of the Caribbean than Twilight. Take a look and say it isn’t so!

In case you missed it, Kate Upton is the ultimate pin – up, model and whatnot for every fashion magazine out there. Thing is, you see, that beyond Kate’s natural beauty, she happened to drop at the exact right time when everyone keeps ripping apart the size 0 fashion controversy by taking steps into the normal size direction. (this time in Vogue Italia November 2012, as photographed by Steven Meisel)
All that sounds great, except Kate isn’t exactly your average normal – sized girl. She comes with special curves in all the right places (doesn’t she look like Anna Nicole Smith’s long lost twin?). So I really have to wonder what’s worse: keeping the size 0 everyone is already used to seeing or pushing in a ‘normal figure’ only with exceptional physical features?
Why do women have to feel frustrated every single time they pick up a fashion magazine? I’m sure if they wanted their silhouette expectations to meet the Playboy levels of excellence, women would’ve done something to make that work by now… Instead, the number of breast DD enhancement surgeries keeps going down. And a “Seductive” cover title across a loud Playboy – ish cover certainly won’t help. Boy, do I miss Lara’s controversial Vogue Paris spreads?! At least they were trying to keep her fashion allegiance straight.

Natalia Vodianova covering Vogue UK December 2012 and looking all normal while doing it doesn’t do the Vogue trick for me. I really wanted a festive cover. Something that really goes pop beyond Technicolor words on an average cover. Oh, and what’s with the One Direction thing written there? Boosting Vogue sales through tweens and teens? Better have a strong inside, because the cover pushes me in One Direction only: far. Away. From. The. Newsstands. {Vogue}

As our dear friend, Riana, advised us to keep an eye out for Dutch magazines, I saw this new Vogue Nederland November 2012 cover and it felt strange. I decided to ask you as well. Maybe Anna de Rijk’s neo – Victorian styling and green styling of the cover would look more appealing to you. So please, let’s discuss: what’s this lacey number doing for a 2012 leathery fall? {vogueNLfb}
