My open minded self gave in to my safe-thinking self when looking at these creations. I couldn’t help imagining that my kids will be physically marked by such jewelry if ever I dare to wear!
However, the world has its fair percentage of warrior princesses or edgy mademoiselles willing to shock and impress by wearing a piece of jewelry fierce enough to hurt the others in the most proper manner there is (there’s also a second photo to exemplify the fight-value of these creations)!
Gualti is the name, danger is the game! Let me quote the designer’s poetic wisdom:
“The organic-symbolic shapes of my creations/ are indeed like roots rising up from deep within,/ stem-like offspring in an underwater world…(…) I create my jewelry to be experienced within/ and to complement my creative process…”
Next you know, these little pieces of … creation are antennas for extraterrestrial communication! Is there an angle I haven’t covered and there’s something to like here? Do you appreciate this kind of artsy jewelry? (visit gualti)

Wow! So stylish…
In perusing your site, I see you take the title of critic quite literally — I found it impossible to find positive feedback on anything or anyone among all the hyperbole. In the case of Gualti, it is quite obvious that you have never visited his gallery and seen or touched his creations, which means you are doing a disservice to your readers. Because of his unique combination of synthetic material (resin) with glass and other materials, his pieces are flexible and pliable, therefore presenting no danger to one’s self or kids. He has been unanimously praised by those fashion and art critics who actually have made the effort to visit him and experience his work in person. I suggest that you do the same before leaving such irresponsible and blatant misrepresentation around for people to read.
“Gualti is the name, danger is the game!”
Absolutely – if you want to look dangerously stylish! Grrr… ferosh!
Seriously, Gualti’s designs are beautifully pliable, really easy to wear, and so, so effective. I have several of his pieces, including a particular favourite: green sparkles on black resin. When I wear it against a black background, the stalks disappear, leaving behind a burst of green. Stunning!
Don’t worry, these pieces may be fierce, but they won’t bite!
Gualti is original, innovative and definitly enhances the wearer. The pieces are stunning and real head-turners. When you wear one, everyone will ask where you got it and will want one. Try it!
I have visited Gualti’s site, only, and from there I have assembled a photo from whatever pieces I saw fit and representative. And my open minded self allowed the possibility to have overlooked an angle, a switching point from where these creations truly look magnificent. As I can see, you’re giving me no choice but to ask what is there to praise in Gualti’s pieces? The soft materials? The not so easy to wear outcome? Truth is I have never touched the pieces myself (and never pretended otherwise) so it’s just a freely expressed opinion based on my subjective thinking and appreciation.
However, I understand you’ve taken the time to look around and see my overwhelmingly critic eye. I also suspect you’ve taken the time to evaluate the kissblogosphere in its glorious ensemble. I’m not in the pursuit of any spotlight dreams if not objectivity and sense of reality. Thus I thank you, sincerely, for having expressed your feedback on Gualti, it will help my readers get a full coverage on the subject.
Thank you Laura and Naomi for your suggestions, it clears out the war-clouds hanging over Gualti’s pieces ;)
Not only do Gualti ‘s wearable art capture the eye, they are individually made custom pieces unlike so much factory fabrication methods which surround us. Instead, these flexible light pieces fool the untrained eye that they are delicate untouchables. Indeed the first time I entered his stark white store, I felt like a child in a glass museum until welcomed by the artist to touch and bend and LIVE with these seemingly delicate jewels. Everything Gualti makes is cleverly crafted around a woman’s body to accentuate her features and highlight her forms without inhibiting her own personal expressions and movements. Drop a pin or mistakenly crush a bracelet should be your last concern because should the piece somehow become damaged , I have known Gualti to repair it for life.
I visit Venice quite often and always go out of my way to drop into the Gualti shop while there. The pieces, the shop, and the designer are all fabulous. I have several items of his jewelry as well as scarves. They all generate oohs and aahs when I wear them and also make me feel quite glamorous. My husband loves his cuff links. All the Gualti pieces are very pliable and organic in addition to being creative and chuc. To the critics I would say, don’t knock it till you’ve tried it!
Thank you for staying open-minded and accepting that the photos alone may offer a different interpretation of Gualti’s work than is actually the case. If you are New York-based and would like to see some first-hand, I will be happy to comply between 29 May and 6 June — and will be wearing a special new creation with a gown he also designed for my concert on 1 June at Carnegie Hall.
Before you pass judgement you need to visit the shop and experience the jewellery first hand. Then and only then can you comment abount it being dangerous or fierce. More than anything the pieces are extremely organic and delicate. Gualti’s piece’s are wearable works of art- end of. They may not be your cup of tea, but they are unique and amazing nonetheless and good value for money to boot!
Wearing Gualti’s stunning floating-tiny-golden-discs hair comb, or shape-able two-color scarf, or gauzy, diaphanous wrap makes me feel most delicious!
What more could anyone ask?
I was astonished to read the extraordinarily negative and uninformed view of the fabulous creations of Gualti in Venice. His creations are extremely easy and pliable to wear and represent individual jewelry couture at its very best If your readers are only interested in second hand criticism from pictures they can make judgements for themselves, surely critical analysis on your website should be based on first hand knowledge otherwise it is worthless . On a recent trip to Venice I came across Gualtis boutique and was scintillated by his fashion creations and his exceptional window displays. I hope your readers take the trouble to discover Gualti for themselves as that alone would be worth a trip to Venice. They will be richly rewarded. Martin Valentine,
Director of Art, Sedbergh, England
You obviously do not know Gualti’s work. He is extremely talented and gives great thought to his creations. We have personally seen his work and we both feel it is a passionate creation or expression. The construction of the pieces would not harm anyone. It is truly creative and works of wearable art. Rarely do you find someone with such passion and desire to please his clients and remain true to his passion of creating wearable art. Fashion is a personal preference and he creates for the individual. Absolutely wonderful jewelry. Not for the faint at heart.
You obvisouly do not Gaulti and his creations. He is an extremely talented individual with a great sense of style. He creates from the heart. Seeing his work to us does not create any hassard or extreme eye damage. He is a person of integrity and passion with a love for the extreme expression of his inner self. Visit his shop and talk with him. He is truly creative and dedicated to wearable art as a fashion statement.
Gualti is fabulous !!!!!!!!!!!!
I am thrilled to have seen and touched in Venice these pieces of art – glorious, innovative and sublimly beautiful.
His work enriches the world!.
